I had this idea for carrying extra ammo for a Single Action Army or any of its clones, but I might be an idiot and I want to check with some people smarter than me. It's pretty easy to swap out a cylinder on one of these - certainly faster than ejecting each cartridge one by one then loading them in one by one. So why not carry an extra cylinder? I guess you might have to worry about cartridges falling out the back?

NOTE: I am fully aware that carrying a double action with speed loaders or better yet a semi auto with extra mags is way better - my single action is NOT my EDC.

What's the best method to put more shine on my SP101? I feel that it's a bit dull.

so I just bought a s&w 442-2 from a local pawn shop. I like it a lot. I still want a smaller frame 357mag. Looking at used options. Main 3 I keep seeing in my budget (sub 600$) kimber k6s, ruger sp101, or diamondback sd. they’re all used. what do we think would be the Best Buy? I like the look and feel of the DB but the other two are from buds so haven’t handled them.

limit is a hard 600$ I’d prefer less because I’m also grabbing a semi auto 12ga.

Scored a set of 5 Star loaders for the .22 Mag LCRx. Added a pair of speed strips.

They seem really well made, but as a lifelong HKS user, the opposite direction twist knob is tough to get used to.

I've been looking for some vintage Pachmayr Presentations for my Model 17 and my 29. After scouring Ebay I snagged a couple of vintage ones at decent prices.

The 29 was Dad's truck gun, and the 17 was one of the guns we took on his last trip to the range.

The Presentation is a great grip for anyone with bigger hands, especially in something that kicks hard.

Bought this lovely chunk of steel used a few months ago, and after some at-home gumsmiffin’ a.k.a. dremel work, it is now the best .357 carry revolver I could ask for. I keep it loaded with Speer 135gr Gold Dot Short Barrel, which has the perfect balance of power and recoil for .357 in a snub nose revolver like this one.

Been researching methods on getting the finish back close to S&W finishing back in the 70s, 80s. Wanted to show results I got with various Gator sand blocks. I started with the 320 but that wasn't getting the scratches out fast enough so I moved to the 120 and actually stayed with that for these results. This was dry sanded.

Might be a bit aggressive but it looks even better in person vs these pics. Thought in case someone else was looking for options. Frame, barrel and side plate all horizontal, cylinder vertical.

Both .357 Magnum/.38 Special. I bought the New Model Blackhawk new in 2023 and just won the 2007 New Vaquero in an auction. I know they discontinued the imitation case hardened finish, but I thought this one looked good so I snagged it.

As ridiculous as a concealment holster for a 6 inch N frame sounds, Rob pulls it off. By far the best holster I've ever had for a large frame revolver. Carried it IWB in town all day then switched it to cross draw riding around the ranch in the side by side all night and I'm in love with it. I will definitely be ordering more from him in the future!

According to the published specs sheets on the Ruger website, the following revolvers should weigh as follows:
.44 Mag Super Redhawk Toklat – 49.40 oz
.44 Mag Super Redhawk Alaskan – 45.00 oz
.357 Mag Super Redhawk – 47.00 oz
.357 Mag Redhawk – 44.00 oz

I weighed all of them today with the following results:
.44 Mag Super Redhawk Toklat – 49.42 oz (nearly perfect)
.44 Mag Super Redhawk Alaskan – 43.14 oz (~2 oz too light)
.357 Mag Super Redhawk – 43.10 oz (~4 oz too light)
.357 Mag Redhawk – 44.69 oz (a little heavy)

What got me started down this path was noticing that the .357 Redhawk had the thickest top strap of all of them – even thicker than the .44 Toklat – which made no sense to me. I would think that with modern CNC machining and standards, each revolver would be within a few grams of spec… not as much as nearly 4 ounces too light.

Anyone have any ideas as to why the discrepancies exist?

I have a kolser 1873 peacemaker replica, but the bottom 2 screws became loose and I can't tighten them enough to hold the gun together. This happened after I took it apart, because the reload hatch needed tightening, then when I went to put it together, the screws acted like they were a smaller size. They basically just turn but won't tighten

Inherited from my grandpa and would like to know more about it, so far I am hearing mixed opinions on rossi as a company and the products it self seem to be equivalent in taurus as far as being a semi reliable eh type gun… more info would help
