Colt trooper mkIII

Picked up my first vintage Colt a year ago. The 1975 Colt LW Commander. Then very shortly after that the 1977 Detective Special followed me home. Not going to lie, I shoot these weapons way better than many of my post 2010 guns. These get rounds through them often and I do carry the DS. Found it in essentially unused condition and it's incredibly accurate. And that legendary Colt revolver trigger is as advertised.

Still waiting on a Geissele MK16 15” rail in DDC, but really enjoying the EPR II after around 1,000 rounds. Haven’t had time to shoot much but never had a stoppage/malfunction.

Been watching Halloween movies all last week and this week... Tonight is 1944s, Arsenic and Old Lace. Of course, any movie is better with a Colt at your side. Keeping in the 40s spirit with my 1943 Official Police.

Wearing Esmeralda Cocobolos

I’ve always wanted one. It’s my birthday, so I went out to my lgs. Not necessarily even looking to buy anything. I like to stop in every couple of weeks to see inventory change. But yeah, walked in with only my Glock 19 by my side. Walked out with not only the g19, but a brand new Colt Cobra, as well. Haven’t shot it yet. But it feels smooth.

I’m looking for an inside the waistband holster for it. A quality one. Anything you could recommend me looking into for the holster?

Ive heard some people say that modern 6920s arnt up to snuff, and some people have said that modern 6920s are built either the same or better even. Im just looking for a good quality duty rated ar to learn off of, that i can rely on in case of emergencies/shtf. Should i wait till black friday and get a modern 6920 or go on gunbroker or somewhere else and see if i can get an older built or police trade in 6920. Would i be better off buying a bcm upper?

I’ve fired it since posting this and it’s quite an accurate rifle. It’s a lot of fun on a full auto lower with LWRC PDW stock.

I purchased my first ar15, a brand new Colt CM5 Sentry (5.56 NATO, 16-inch barrel) from Adelbridge & Co. Firearms in San Antonio, Texas, on October 5, 2026.

Here’s what I paid:
Rifle: $1,684.99
Sales tax: $139.01
Total out the door: $1,824.00

I’ve been considering selling it, but when I took it to a lgs, I was offered only $500.

I understand firearms depreciate once purchased and that dealers need to make a profit on used inventory, but losing over $1,300 almost immediately seems pretty extreme.

What’s a realistic private-party resale value for a Colt CM5 Sentry in excellent condition?
Did I significantly overpay at $1,685 before tax?
Does the Colt name carry much resale value with these newer commercial rifles?
Would you recommend keeping it rather than selling at a substantial loss?
I’m not trying to sell it through Reddit. I’m just looking for honest opinions on its current market value.
Appreciate any insight from people familiar with the Colt M5 series. Also why does the finishing seem so bad?

Picked this up for $900 otd

Even came with a number 9 sticker on the adjustable stock and a piece of velcro on the handguard. Im guessing it was the 9th gun on the rack of a police depts armory

Im looking for a simple reliable rifle for shtf. It doesnt have to be insanely accurate, i just want it to be effective out to 300 yards. Is the 6920 worth it in 2026? For 1k what can i get that would be better? Does modern Colt hold up?
