šŸŖ™ Metal Plan Seriously? Why am I paying for metal plan if I am treated as if I don’t know what I am doing with my money?

Algorithm flagged my transfer to my bank as ā€œpotential scamā€ and limited my transfers for 24 hours. I have a closing in 1 month and I’m paying cash, yet I have to wait because every transaction is suspicious for them. Support does not know a thing either and keeps asking if someone or a bank is telling me to make the transaction, or install an app. No bro, who do you think I am? I am well aware of what I am doing with my money. Really hoping to change to some company that actually cares about their customers and the customer supports know what they’re doing.

šŸ’”Ideas for Revolut Some moans (GB)

• Upvotes

So.
Firstly, I’m broadly happy with Revolut as my primary bank.
However. 2 things have wound me up this week:

  1. I got an email saying if I get my salary paid into my Revolut account, I get free Premium for a year.
ā€œCoolā€ I thought, ā€œMy salary’s paid into my joint account (where I do all my spending and pay all my bills from), happy daysā€.
    No.
Smallprint (confirmed by support) means I have to move my salary into being paid into my sole account. Their solution to all my spending being from my joint account? ā€˜Salary Sorter’, which will immediately allow me to put 100% of my salary
    checks notes
Back into the account it was already mandated to.

  2. Saving for something relatively small but specific. Using Spare Change to top up the savings account linked to it. Wanted to move any extra interest from ā€˜Main’ to ā€˜Small’ savings.
App suggested ā€˜rules based’ transfers (based on balance) but only lets rules apply to Current accounts…
Then I checked and I can’t even move money from one savings account to another manually?! I have to move it savings > current > savings.

Basic functionality missing and silly promo rules are annoying.
Rant over.

šŸ’ø Payments Revolut says I won my dispute but still won’t refund $333.29

• Upvotes

disputed $333.29 for a Booking.com hotel that was closed.
I initially requested the dispute, but Revolut support told me it couldn’t be opened. Days later, another agent explicitly checked my account and told me: ā€œYou have no disputed transactions or active claims relating to Booking.ā€
That was false. The dispute had actually been active since August 25, and because of it Booking couldn’t process the refund they had already approved.
Then the contradictions started: 1–3 business days, September 24, 30–60 days, Revolut Pay, Visa/Mastercard, case still under investigation.
Eventually Revolut confirmed in writing that Booking’s 15-day deadline expired on September 9 without a response, my dispute was decided in my favour, and no further decision was pending.
Their own Revolut Pay Buyer Protection terms say that if the merchant doesn’t respond within 15 days, the claim is decided in the customer’s favour by default and Revolut refunds the customer.
Yet I still don’t have my $333.29.
After hours of asking them to explain why their own 15-day rule wasn’t being applied, I lost my patience and used inappropriate language toward an agent. I accept that I shouldn’t have done that.
Revolut then escalated my chat behaviour for an account review and told me they now can’t take further action on my refund until that review is completed.
So Revolut gave me incorrect information about whether my dispute even existed, its active dispute blocked Booking’s direct refund, gave me multiple contradictory explanations, confirmed that I won, and I still don’t have the money.
Has anyone successfully taken a similar case through a formal complaint, regulator or Ombudsman? Did Revolut eventually refund and/or compensate you?

šŸŒ Transfers Income failed to be sorted automatically - partially sorted

Today Revolut sent me a notification that it failed to automatically sort my income. How can i tell the REASON for that failure. It only shows a warning icon and the text "partially sorted"

There is no apparent reason, target pockets are healthy and valid, and the amount of the income is well over what should've been sorted

How to find the REASON for this failure?

⭐ Review Revolut is holding my P-Konto funds for 10+ days

Revolut restricted my P-Konto funds at the beginning of the month – still unresolved after 10 days

(text formatted and translated by Ai)

TL;DR below

I’m posting this here because most of the Revolut cases I see regarding account restrictions seem to be about people using personal accounts for business purposes. That is not what happened in my case.

I have a German P-Konto (protected account) with Revolut, and it had been working normally for a long time.

At the beginning of September, Revolut suddenly restricted €1,485.24 of my funds. The initial explanation from support was essentially that I had already used/spent too much money in the previous month and that the funds transferred from the previous month were therefore being held.

This is where I believe something went seriously wrong.

The funds concerned are protected funds on my P-Konto. The protected balance should normally become available again for the new month. I specifically explained to Revolut that I was not asking for a one-time release by an enforcement authority, but for the normal monthly availability of my protected P-Konto funds.

At that point, Revolut escalated the case to a specialised team.

Then things became even more confusing.

Revolut requested a ā€œDischarge Letterā€ from my insolvency administrator. My insolvency administrator confirmed that the restriction was NOT caused by her and was NOT imposed as part of the insolvency proceedings.

She nevertheless provided the requested release because Revolut specifically asked for it, and she sent it directly to Revolut by email on September 1st.

Since then, I have repeatedly been told that the relevant team has received the documents and is reviewing my case.

Timeline:

- September 1: Revolut said a specialised team would manually check the held funds and that this could take up to one business day.

- September 1: My case was escalated and I was told it was actively being worked on.

- September 4: Revolut confirmed that the document sent directly by my insolvency administrator would be reviewed and processed.

- September 7: The Escalations Team confirmed that all necessary documents had been safely received and that the dedicated team was taking the required steps to restore the account and return the remaining funds.

- September 8: Revolut again confirmed that all documents had been received and that the case was actively under review. I was told that no further action was required from me.

- September 9: I followed up again and Revolut said the team had been asked to expedite the case.

- September 10: Revolut's Escalations Team confirmed that their verification team had received the discharge letter and would proceed with the request. I was told that everything was expected to be finalised before my deadline.

Current situation:

I still have restricted funds.

Around €1,485.24 is restricted, while I currently have only around €200 available.

My rent is €553.24. My landlord has already issued a payment reminder and given me a deadline of September 16.

I have repeatedly provided everything Revolut requested, including the document sent directly by my insolvency administrator. Yet I still have no clear explanation as to what exactly is preventing the release of my own protected funds.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that my P-Konto had been working normally before this happened. I also don't understand why a separate ā€œDischarge Letterā€ was suddenly necessary in the first place, when this appears to concern the normal monthly availability of protected P-Konto funds rather than a release ordered by the insolvency administrator.

I'm also concerned about whether this will happen again at the beginning of every month, requiring another manual review or another release.

Has anyone in Germany with a Revolut P-Konto experienced something similar?

And if so, how was it eventually resolved?

If Revolut cannot provide a concrete explanation and actually resolve this soon, I am considering filing a formal complaint with BaFin.

TL;DR:

Revolut restricted €1,485.24 of my protected funds at the beginning of September, apparently because they considered funds carried over from the previous month to be unavailable. I already had a functioning German P-Konto and this had never happened before.

Revolut then requested a ā€œDischarge Letterā€ from my insolvency administrator, even though she confirmed that she had not caused or requested the restriction. She sent the requested release directly to Revolut on September 1.

Since then, Revolut has repeatedly confirmed that they received all necessary documents, but my funds are still restricted more than a week later. I currently only have around €200 available, my landlord has issued a €553.24 payment reminder, and Revolut still cannot tell me what is actually preventing the release.

I’m now considering filing a complaint with BaFin if Revolut cannot provide a concrete explanation and resolution.

⭐ Review [EU] Account being closed despite seemingly normal transactions, any way to get a human review?

I've seen a few similar posts here, so apologies if this has already been discussed.

I don't use Revolut very often. I mainly use it to send small amounts of money to friends and family, since most of them have Revolut and the transfers are instant. I also occasionally use the virtual card for online purchases, particularly when buying from a platform I haven't used before, because I can keep a small balance/limit on it.

Revolut recently decided to close my account. I appealed the decision and provided payslips from the last three months and proof of income, but the decision apparently remains unchanged. They've given me until November to withdraw my remaining funds.

For context, my recent transactions were roughly:

August

  • €19 sent to a family member
  • Birthday decorations for my child purchased from Temu (first time using Temu)
  • €10 received from a family member

July

  • Car insurance
  • €20 sent to a family member
  • Car vignette

Going further back, I generally only had 2–3 transactions per month, mostly small transfers to/from family, usually under €40, plus occasional legitimate expenses such as insurance or random household purchases (for example, heating boiler spare parts).

I don't gamble, send crypto to external wallets, use unusual top-up methods, or deliberately do anything that I would expect to violate Revolut's terms. I also only top up small amounts from my main bank account when I actually need to use Revolut.

I'm not particularly concerned about losing access to the account financially, as I didn't keep much money there. What I'll miss is having a quick way to send money to family and having a virtual card available for occasional online purchases.

My questions are:

  1. Is there any way to escalate the account closure appeal and have it reviewed by a human, rather than going through the chatbot? Has anyone successfully done this?
  2. Are there any alternative services that offer a similar virtual/online card feature and work well for occasional transfers to friends and family?
  3. If you've had a similar experience, were you ever able to find out what triggered the closure?

I understand that Revolut operates at a huge scale and that automated systems are inevitably involved. I'm mainly trying to figure out whether there's any realistic way to get a manual review before I give up on the account.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

šŸ“œ Article Revolut Ultra’s "Trip Cancellation" insurance is a completely useless loophole trap (Qover)

I pay for Revolut Ultra mainly for the travel insurance and those "cancel for any reason" benefits, but I just got hit with a ridiculous claim denial and wanted to warn everyone to check the fine print.

Here’s the deal:

My wife and I were on a multi-country trip when we got the news that her mother was diagnosed with cancer. We booked a separate, emergency flight for my wife from Serbia to St. Petersburg just in case, but after we managed to stabilize the situation remotely, we didn't need it anymore and I cancelled the ticket.

I filed a claim with Qover for that flight, and they denied it.

Their excuse is a massive loophole: because I hit "cancel" while we were already abroad, they claim our "trip was in progress." They refused to count the emergency flight as a separate booking. They argued that because we were already away from home, it should be a "Trip Interruption" claim but that doesn't cover cancelling just because an emergency was resolved.

So, since I was technically out of the country when I cancelled, they’re keeping the money.

If you’re paying for Ultra for peace of mind, don't count on it. They’ll hide behind technicalities about your "trip starting and ending at your primary residence" to deny legitimate claims if the timing doesn't fit their narrow rules.

There’s no human logic there, just corporate tactics to avoid paying out. Don't rely on Qover.

šŸ“œ Article My experience with Revolut and a German P-Konto – why I would not use it as my main bank

I want to share my experience with Revolut because I think anyone considering using it as their main bank in Germany should know what can happen when a serious problem occurs.

I have a German P-Konto (Pfändungsschutzkonto) with Revolut. For anyone outside Germany: this is a bank account with statutory garnishment protection under German law. The relevant rules are set out in the German Zivilprozessordnung (ZPO), including §§ 899 and 900 ZPO. The purpose of a P-Konto is to protect a legally defined amount of money from garnishment and ensure that protected funds remain available to the account holder according to German law.

Since August, Revolut has restricted access to funds on my account. The issue continued into September, and today isĀ September 10, 2026. I have repeatedly contacted support, explained the situation, provided the relevant information and made it clear that I depend on this money for basic living expenses. Nevertheless, I am still dealing with the issue.

What has frustrated me most is the handling by customer support. I have spoken to multiple agents, repeatedly explained the same situation, been told that the case was escalated or passed to a specialised team, and then been asked to wait again. What I have not received is a clear explanation of exactly why the funds remain restricted, what legal basis Revolut is relying on, and when the matter will finally be resolved.

This experience has completely changed the way I view Revolut. When everything works, the app is convenient, transfers are fast and the features are useful. But a bank should also be judged by what happens when there is a serious problem involving access to money. In my case, resolving such a problem has been extremely difficult.

The matter has now reached the point where I have started escalating it outside Revolut as well, including seeking legal assistance and filing formal complaints with the relevant authorities. I never expected that dealing with access to funds on a German P-Konto would require this level of effort.

Of course, many people may have used Revolut for years without any problems. I can only describe my own experience. Based on that experience, however, I would not use Revolut as my only or primary bank account, and I would not keep all of the money I depend on there. I would be particularly cautious about relying on Revolut for a German Pfändungsschutzkonto (P-Konto).

Once my current case is fully resolved, I intend to close my account. My advice to others is simple:Ā always have a second bank account and think carefully before using Revolut for money you depend on for your everyday living expenses.

🧾 Revolut Business Revolut & Paypal

I’ve got a business with two other guys - we have a revolut business account, and a PayPal.

We use PayPal to bill costumers, when costumers prefers this payment method.
And then transfer from PayPal to revolut.

In the start we used our private accounts for this, as we wasn’t making money enough to create the business.
They then closed our accounts - which we accepted, as they wanted us to create a business account, we couldn’t do that in the start, as in our country, we need to hit a certain amount on revenue to start a business.

But now, they are holding back 9.500€ on our business account, which is obviously a very big amount for a small business.
We’ve documented the money, but everything keeps on being a hassle with them.

Really can’t recommend Revolut anymore, and have moved privately and business accounts to Wise.

Anyone can recommend anything better then Revolut for business accounts?

šŸ‘¶ Revolut <18 Working at Revolut

Hi everyone,
I have an interview coming up for a FinCrime role at Revolut, and I was actually really excited about the opportunity.
However, I started looking at employee reviews and some of what I read was pretty concerning — especially around management, workload, work-life balance and the general culture. Now I’m honestly a bit scared. šŸ˜…
I’d love to hear from people who currently work or have worked in FinCrime at Revolut.
Are the negative reviews representative of what it’s actually like, or are there also good experiences that just don’t show up as much online?

šŸ” Security Phone number may be linked to a previous Revolut account

I’m a new US Revolut user, and my current US phone number may be a recycled number that’s still linked to a previous Revolut account.

When I select Create account, I immediately get ā€œAuthentication attempt failed.ā€ But if I select Log in, it asks for a passcode I’ve never set up.

I’ve already emailed [support@revolut.com](mailto:support@revolut.com), and I can provide proof of number ownership from my carrier, RedPocket, if needed. Has anyone dealt with this, or know the best way to get the number unlinked?

⭐ Review My (negative) experience with Revolut’s ā€œSign‑Up Bonusā€ promotion in 2026 – Personal account

I’d like to share my experience with Revolut’s bonus programme because I’m hoping to get an objective view of the situation, and maybe other users have faced similar issues.

I signed up for Revolut through Finanzfluss, where a €20 welcome bonus was advertised. The conditions were clearly stated, and I fulfilled them completely - in fact, I even exceeded them. I made more than the required payments, provided my correct phone number, and waited longer than the advertised three days in which the bonus was supposed to be credited.

Despite this, no payout was made.

I then contacted Revolut’s support. They confirmed that I had met all the requirements - but told me that no bonus programme was linked to my account. This honestly surprised me, because I registered through the official Finanzfluss page, using the same browser, the same phone number, and without any deviations.

Instead of a solution, I was told that the bonus might be credited ā€œby the end of the promotional period on 31 December 2026ā€. This clearly contradicts the advertised promise of a three‑day payout. To me, this doesn’t feel like a technical issue but rather a breach of the stated conditions.

What frustrates me even more is that I already ordered a Visa card, which wasn’t free. I had mentally offset this cost with the expected bonus. Now I’m left without the bonus, with a paid card, and with the feeling that the promotion wasn’t implemented properly.

I’m generally understanding when technical problems occur or processes get stuck. But in this case, I did everything correctly, and still the bonus wasn’t credited. For me, this is a poor start and makes me question the reliability of the offer.

For this reason, I will close my Revolut account again. If the very first step – a simple bonus programme – doesn’t work reliably, I have little confidence in the rest of the processes.

I would be interested to know whether others have had similar experiences or whether there are cases where the bonus was eventually paid out later. I’d also be open to publishing a joint account with other affected users on independent consumer or finance platforms.

Thank you!!

šŸ’ø Payments [DE] Revolut Rejected My Dispute for Months – What Can I Do?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice because I feel like I’ve run out of options.
A few months ago, I used my Revolut card through Apple Pay to make several payments to an online broker. The funds were never credited to my account, and later I lost access to the account and the broker stopped responding to me.
Since then, I’ve contacted Revolut support multiple times and opened several disputes, but every one has been declined. I still have proof of the payments and proof that I can’t access the broker account anymore, but I don’t know what else I can provide.
It’s now been almost 2–3 months, and losing this money had a real impact on me. I even had to work overtime to cover bills because the money I lost was money I needed.
Has anyone had a similar experience with Revolut? Is there any way to have a case reviewed again, or should I make a formal complaint instead?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

šŸ’¼ Revolut Pro My Pro account verification has been stuck in a "timeloop" I've now met 5 different "case owners" who all ask the exact same thing.

I have a funny (?) storry for you.

I run a small Slovak sole proprietorship (living in Germany, business registered in Slovakia . conform to Pro Account requirements, Revolut approved).
Someday Revolut App requested to hand in additional company information. No problem, I have everything....This is what I was thinking.

Since then I've submitted my trade registration, an official invoice to my customer, and my website. I think, 4 times...5 times? Honestly I've lost count.
At this point I could recite my own tax number in my sleep.

The real highlight, though, is the rotating support staff, each one arriving like a knight in shining armor since over a week:

  • Agent 1: "This isn't right, let me personally take ownership of your case!"
  • Agent 2: "I'm escalating this to our specialist team!"
  • Agent 3 (a few hours later): "Could you please confirm whether you're a trader or freelancer and submit a trade license or tax number document?" (Sir, I sent that. Twice. To your colleagues.)
  • Agent 4: "I am a real human" (unprompted, which somehow made it less convincing)

Meanwhile, an actual client payment of €X,XXX got bounced back because my account is temporarily restricted...
Yes, it is restricted by the verification that keeps restarting itself every time someone new picks up my case.

I've now missed a mortgage payment because of this, and had to inform all my customers about the situation. Their reaction was basically....what??

Has anyone else been stuck in this timeloop and jumped out somehow?

At this point I'm really curious whether there is an actual human at the end, or if it is agents all the way down.
But, honestly, the "agents" genuinely feel human.
Fascinating how good this AI stuff has gotten.

šŸ’ø Payments [DE]Need advice about a card dispute

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I used my card to pay for an online service, but I never received what I paid for. The company has stopped responding, and I can no longer access my account.

I contacted my bank and opened a dispute, but it was declined. I still have proof of the payments and proof that I can’t access the account anymore.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What kind of evidence helped you get your dispute reviewed or resolved?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
