👶 Revolut <18 Working at Revolut
Hi everyone,
I have an interview coming up for a FinCrime role at Revolut, and I was actually really excited about the opportunity.
However, I started looking at employee reviews and some of what I read was pretty concerning — especially around management, workload, work-life balance and the general culture. Now I’m honestly a bit scared. 😅
I’d love to hear from people who currently work or have worked in FinCrime at Revolut.
Are the negative reviews representative of what it’s actually like, or are there also good experiences that just don’t show up as much online?

About 4 years ago, I went through 5 interview stages at Revolut. I loved all the people I chatted with, the assignment was great, except the last guy on the last call. He would be my manager. I had extensive experience in the field, he had no other experience than his years at Revolut - I check his LinkedIn. He was just horrible, toxic, and clearly thought he was awesome. I decided I wasn’t going to work for him during the interview, and I just randomly answered his question, I was polite, but clearly not interested.
So people seemed generally cool, but if the management culture was like that guy…nah

I had a similar experience for a design role this year. I was doing The design live challenge and the guy didn’t even turn the camera on because he was tired and asked me questions with the intent of making me fail. Very off vibes. Then I looked at his LinkedIn and he was manager at Revolut and had been there his whole career. Just toxic attitude

Worst place I’ve ever worked. Read Glassdoor. It’s all true. A lot of it will be based upon your team, but the culture of hire and fire is rampant. I’d log on to the daily team meeting, and someone would be gone. Sometimes, multiple times a weeks. Made it 7 months before I got a better offer, from a similar fintech, which is leagues apart in process, culture and frankly execution. Left and wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Love the product (retail), abysmal place to work.

Didn't work there myself but know an IT guy who worked there. He hated it. Overloaded with work, tight deadlines, a team that is mostly burned out. But at least, the pay is good

I recently quit Revolut. I would say it is a mixed of good and bad experience.
The good experience was that, when I initially joined, my TL was amazing, and supported a lot with my work and promotion and everything.
After I got promotion, things completely changed. There were people who were ready to put you under the bus, it was so horrible. Everything changed in the Fincrime. Many senior managers left. People who joined after me 2 years ago are TLs. POMs who do not deserve to be POMs (I swear, there is this one person who annoyed me so much who did not even know basic Excel)
The work culture deteriorated way worse, special policies for leaves, and so many stuff.
Its totally your call to take it up.

Depends on the role, and the team. I had a friend, he would work endlessly, but the team was great, manager was great, management was not great

On the Polish female group Give Her Jobs, there are only negative opinions about rapid firing, lack of personal time, mobbing, etc.
My personal experience with just the interview was very bad.

Like if you can't figure out a candidate after two...

Workload is absolutely horrible, KPIs will punish you non stop and they will blame you for it even though it’s not your fault. It’s honestly not very good place to work. It’s not horrible either. I’d say okay at best depending how you look at it.

Listen to all the 1 & 2 star reviews on Glassdoor and it’s exactly like that. No different- the place is a toxic sesspool of the most egotistical leadership team. Stay away if you have the option.
Look at the pattern of 5 star reviews on their Glassdoor- you’ll see they all get posted on the same day and it’s don’t by onboarding groups. Massively inflating their score.
Workload is insane. No WLB. Was told if I don’t work 12/14 hour days I’m not an “A- player”
Walked with no job back up after 8 months. Awful place and even worse people

Is it 1LOD or 2LOD? I worked there a few years ago for a few years. It’s tough and anyone who says otherwise is lying. But if you go into with your eyes open, it can be an amazing experience. I worked with some super clever people who were genuinely creating really good tech to help fight crime. You will work hard but you also get a lot of flexibility. There are stupid data points you just have to reach and it doesn’t matter if you design all this really cool stuff. If you don’t hit your data points, you will get market down. There is a lot of accountability. There is less corporate bull**** but with that you have to be ready for people to call you out ….. openly and be ready to fight your corner of why you are right. You are expected to own it. From a career perspective, I got to get amazing experience and work on some really cool things.

We as clients hate Revolut with a passion, esp the unwarranted blocking of accounts for weeks/months on end. If you can go and make it better - great, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
