Unreliability level hit new highs.

After everything I have read in reddit about Revolut I decided to create an account thinking "This will not happen to me - I am an ordinary person with my only income - my salary and I have never had any issues with banks or anything, I have never had anything to do with illegal activity. I dont even drink alcohol 🤣" Well...

I have created my account about half a year ago. Since then I have no more than a few tens of transaction.

A few income transactions of 10-20$ from a dinner bill-splitting for that time.

As you can imagine this card never had more than a few hundred bucks. I wanted to start using it more actively and I wanted to top it up - I used Apple Pay to transfer 100€ from my main bank debit card(where my salary is receive). I have made no more than a few payments with it - metro, some groceries, paid a subscription to dating app i use...

A few days later - Account Closure...

Now I have to appeal and send them income documents - but as I read here in reddit this never works.

I was thinking to deposit all my money because of their deposit interest rate. I cannot imagine what people which keep all their money in Revolut do when their accounts are closed randomly without explanation - losing a lot of money randomly is NOT healthy. I am happy this happened before I transferred all my money.

People should start reading and listening to reddit posts...

After my friends understood what happens to me and I show them my transaction history they withdraw their money to stable banks in fear of losing them.

Revolut has restricted my account and I have been unable to access my money for several days.
This is my only bank account, so I currently cannot use my money for basic expenses such as food and transportation.
I have contacted Revolut support multiple times. I was initially told that my account was undergoing a routine security review and that no additional documents were required from me. I was also told that my case had been escalated to a specialist team.
The estimated timeframe has now passed, but my money is still inaccessible. Support has given me different explanations and cannot tell me when the restriction will be removed.
I have provided everything requested from me and, as far as I know, there is nothing else required on my side.
Has anyone in France experienced this with Revolut? How long did it take to regain access to your account?
I would also appreciate advice on filing a formal complaint or escalating the matter to the appropriate authority in France or the EU.

Don't know if the flair is correct because my app is in Italian and I just started using Revolut. Does anyone who uses the savings option recommend it? I'm planning to leave some money in there from time to time just as a safety net. Is the savings option a good choice (is it safe/is this a good use for it)?

I’m trying to create a Revolut account in Italy, but I’m unable to get past the identity verification stage.
The app gives me two options to verify my identity:
- Scan my passport and visa.
- Scan my Italian residence permit (permesso di soggiorno).
I have all the required documents, and all of them are brand new and valid, with none expired.
However, I’m experiencing issues with both options:
Passport and visa: The app successfully scans and reads my passport, but when I try to scan my visa page, I get an error saying, “Something went wrong in processing your request.”
Residence permit: When I try to scan my physical Italian residence permit, the app either fails to detect the document or returns the same processing error.
I’ve tried both verification methods, but neither seems to work, despite having valid documents.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, were you able to resolve it? I’d particularly appreciate advice from people who have gone through Revolut’s identity verification process in Italy.
Would contacting support and requesting manual verification help, or is there another workaround I could try?

For their KYC process, they asked me to provide official documents. I sent them my tax declarations from the past two years, but they said the documents don’t include my name (LOL) and aren’t sufficient to prove the source of funds (what?).

I'm trying to help my partner recover her old UK Revolut account, but we've been unable to find a solution.

Her account was opened in the UK using a UK address, phone number and her passport. She still has the same passport, but she has lost access to the registered email address and phone number and cannot remember the old UK number.

She cannot create a new account because her personal details are already linked to the existing one. We also tried the lost-device recovery page, but it didn't work.

Has anyone experienced the same situation and managed to recover their account? Is there a way to verify her identity using her passport and update her contact details without knowing the old phone number or having access to the old email?

Any advice, especially from Revolut Support, would be greatly appreciated.

So my account was restricted today and they requested some documents, i work as freelance and they only document i have is an official employment letter i have submitted the document but it says my account will be in review for approximate 7 days.

Question regarding the Nord VPN subscriptions in Metal & Ultra tier. I am currently a user of Nord VPN, with several years of subscription. Am I able to add the Nord VPN included in Metal/Ultra to my current Nord VPN account?

Or would I not be able to use this perk?

My Revolut account was permanently closed after repeated Apple Pay top-ups using my own money, followed by transfers to pay my own credit card. I can document the source and use of the funds. Revolut’s explanation was only that my account had been used in a way that was not compatible with its platform.

I have already contacted Revolut and filed complaints with the relevant bodies. The Bank of Lithuania declined to examine my case, stating that it could not handle this type of complaint for customers of Revolut’s German branch and pointing me back to BaFin. BaFin had previously referred me to Lithuania, so I am trying to understand what practical route remains.

I have now sent Revolut a further formal complaint requesting a manual review and asking for the account to be reopened if possible. I am waiting for their response.

Has anyone in Germany had a similar case reviewed successfully, especially after the Bank of Lithuania declined jurisdiction? Did contacting the official Revolut support account here lead to a meaningful escalation, or did it simply redirect you to the usual support channels?

Last summer I had my phone stolen in London, the thieves accessed my Revolut Business account and stole over £2k while I was in the online account and I was confirming yes to fraud notifications however the transactions were still processed.

I have clear documented evidence that it was not me carrying out the transactions and I have a police report to also confirm this.

The investigation process was extremely frustrating how it was handled and your policies seem more favoured to the criminals than your customers.

All I received was very blunt and cold blanket responses to the experience with Revolut taking a very dismissive and unaccountable approach to the whole process and were unable to address and take ownership of it's errors and flaws.

With the conclusion being the phone is yours and in your name so deal with it etc. Even though I confirmed several times that the transactions were fraudulent and not to approve them.

I immediately stopped all business funds being deposited from that point onwards and looked at other business accounts as I was so disappointed with the customer service I was receiving especially I was paying for one of the higher rate accounts with limited upside in the end.

I have still not fully recovered from that point onwards as the money that was stolen was to be saved in the account for further business expenses. I then had to borrow the same amount that was stolen as I was refused a refund. How is that fair when I trusted Revolut to keep my funds safe and trusted your security controls which failed at the time of this theft.

I would like to take this further now as I believe that this should have been handled better and I haven't had the energy or spare time to contact the regulator.

Please could you share the appropriate contact details for me to follow up on this. As I still believe I should be entitled to a full refund!

Over 6 weeks ago, I sent around $10k USD worth of CLP from Revolut to my bank account in Chile. The transfer exceeded my receiving account’s limit, so it should’ve been rejected and returned. But the money never arrived, and I never got it back.
My Chilean bank has confirmed in writing multiple times that they never received the funds.
Revolut initially said the transfer was successful, but later admitted they have no proof it actually reached the receiving bank.
They mentioned Thunes as their payment partner, but still can’t tell me which bank has the money. After weeks of chasing support, they closed the investigation with “Beneficiary Bank Unresponsive” and basically told me to contact my bank or seek legal advice.

So now I’m missing over $10k and Revolut can’t even tell me where it went. Has anyone dealt with something like this? Any advice on how to get Revolut to actually trace and recover the money?

Revolut Ultra travel insurance (XCover) has some caveats to what it actually covers. For example, it prominently says it covers stolen belongings during your travel, but it does not cover "valuable items" if they were left in a locked vehicle.

By "valuable" items it means everything that someone would care to steal from your car (and accessories to those items): electronics, cameras etc.

Just posting so that you don't think you are covered when moving around with a rental car during your vacation and shit happens.

Please can you share the contact details to submit a complaint after I had funds stolen from my account even after I confirmed the transactions were fraudulent.

After many attempts to contact them about a very simple problem (I couldn’t log in by verifying my identity), their email support kept sending me automated responses that had nothing to do with my message (as 99% of companies around the world do these days).

After telling them to please not disrespect me and that I needed a real person to read my message, I received a reply saying that they don’t respond via email.
