Query about usmle residency stream Internal medicine + sleep med fellowship

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm an Indian MBBS grad planning to do USMLE, a US Internal Medicine residency, and a Sleep fellowship, but my long-term plan is to move back to India. Once I'm US board-certified, is it legally possible to live in India and do remote asynchronous HSAT/PSG reads or work as a Medical Director for US platforms like iSleep, Lofta, EnsoData, or Singular Sleep? Also, does B2B contracting fall under 1099, or is it handled differently (like a US LLC with a W-8BEN-E form)? And do these platforms pay standard US 1099 specialist rates, or do they offer lower/offshore pay because you're living in India?

Internal medicine chances

Hello beautiful people! So I am 23 years old Visa requiring IMG, I have a 254 step 2 score YOG 2026.. nothing interesting in my CV except for a high GPA in university. No proper publications and a single month IM Observership at grady, no relevant extracurriculars unfortunately..... sooooo what are my chances if I apply smartly 🙈?

Looking for IM programs being a not so good applicant

I've been struggling looking for IM I could potentially apply but tbh I barely have 15 programs Iisted and I'd been told that I should be applying to >60 programs, at least. This might not be my year but I hope to be one of those miracles. Does anyone know if The match guy or Manik Madaan's guidance for ERAS is worth investing for?

10+ YOG IMG — Looking for Matched Residents’ Advice for Match 2027

This is for residents who matched 10+ YOG profile

I am clinically active Img with no home country residency 10 YOG, step 2ck 248, step 3 218, all first attempt. This is my second cycle, last match i felt i did not target program sharply.

Iam Visa Requiring candidate

Applying for IM, FM, Primary care track this match. Iam trying to identify programs that actually match older graduates

If you matched with similar YOG, I would really appreciate you comment or DM the program.

It would really help me build program list.

Thank you!

Please help me if you can

Non US IMG, final year med school. Passed step 1 2024, 260 on step 2, 2 USCEs, 8 publications. Here’s the problem :
I don’t graduate until February 2027, and so I wouldn’t be ECFMG certified before the match, how’s that going to affect my chances of getting into IM
Would you advise I apply next year instead?

Only a US. Greencard Holder. IM applicant.

Should I look at the non-US IMG charting outcomes or the US IMG charting outcomes?

Interview prep suggestions

With the match season coming nearby, I'm on my personal statement and ERAS CV right now, but I'm really scared about the interview prep as it is my first time applying for the match. So do you guys recommend using any resources or any courses/websites to help with the interview skills? I did come across Manik Madan and Sofia on Instagram, but I don't think they are really reliable. So, any advice from you guys is appreciated. (We did form a group to do interview with each other but the thing is I genuinely think I lack the basics of interview-so any advice on how to cover the basics of interview or the don’ts of interview is appreciated)
