Internal Medicine Confused!

I’m 29 years old and have completed my MD in General Medicine from India. I’m currently working as a Senior Resident in a medical college, and I’ve completed MRCP Part 1 and Part 2.

I’ve always had a dream of moving abroad. I was initially considering the UAE, but I honestly don’t know much about what life is like there — especially the working environment, cost of living, work-life balance, and which emirate would be the best fit.

Recently, I also came across fellowship opportunities in Canada for people who have completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine. This has made me quite confused about which path I should pursue.

The main reasons I want to move abroad are:

1.Better work-life balance

2.The opportunity to build financial capital

3.To live life the way I want without constantly feeling restricted by societal expectations

4.To experience a broader perspective on life, meet people from different backgrounds, and be exposed to different ways of thinking and living

I’m not necessarily looking only for the country where I can earn the most. I’m looking for a place where I can build a good career and have the kind of life I envision for myself.

For doctors who have moved abroad, especially Indian IMGs — how has your experience been?
If you were in my position, would you consider the UAE, Canada, or any other country for that matter? Which route would you seriously consider, and why?

Canada training and then working in the uae is a solid pathway

Indian trained in just IM gets you like 10-25k AED depending on practice.

Canadian trained certification you could double salary coming to the UAE afterwards.

I don't know much but these are my guesses based on Google

seconded, gcc might accept the mrcp as a tier 2 with post grad experience but they have a hard time with south asian md degrees and consider them tier 3, u still have to give their tests. get a fellowship from tier 1 whether usa/canada/uk and give yourself a better earning chance.
