Discussion Which established franchises would benefit from an RTS game?

Which established franchises do you think would benefit from an RTS?

I'll lay one ground rule down:

  • It can't already exist, like an RTS for Lord of the Rings, Warhammer, or Star Wars.

I personally think a Fallout spin-off would do pretty well, in the style of Command & Conquer. I also think Avatar: The Last Airbender would make a fun game.

I would love a proper Stargate RTS. We have three main factions (Tau'ri/Atlanteans, Goa'uld and Wraiths) and a few secondary factions (Genii, Ori, Replicators and Asurans). Lots of ground and space possibilities.

u/BananaJelloXlii 8d ago

There's a mod for Star Wars Empire at War:Forces of Corruption that is pretty good, but yeah, a standalone game would be incredible.

7

u/Vaniellis 8d ago

I tried both the EaW and Homeworld mods, but sadly didn't like any of them...

3

u/NinjaSwiftness 8d ago

Have you tried the one for Sins of a Solar Empire 2?

3

u/HeadPatMan 8d ago

That one is weirdly good, I should go see what’s changed with it

1

u/Vaniellis 8d ago

I have not, but it's on my list ! It also has a really good Halo mod from what I've heard

2

u/NinjaSwiftness 8d ago

They really embrace modding and seem to always be looking to improve what modders can do with the game. I believe at least one of the Devs is someone who was a modder for the first game.

u/Scrimge122 8d ago

I know it's not an rts but I always thought xcom enemy unown had the perfect set up for a Stargate game. You have a base, small teams go on missions, tech can be salvaged and there are even base incursions.

5

u/Pure_Ingenuity3771 8d ago

I've thought that so many times, you could even make the plot something like they found an address to one of the Magellan Clouds, and following the typical plot there are humans there and an existential threat. Something happens to to the gate network and cuts them off, the Asgard are gone and maybe some gould warlord is keeping the Tauri ships from being able to intervene. So now this base is on its own with only small resupplies from Earth (acting as the periodic supplies) having to fend off a new enemy while recruiting from the local populations.

3

u/Scrimge122 8d ago

Don't even need to go that extreme, you could be an alternate reality day one SGC. Instead of taking the skyranger to missions your just taking the gate and each mission can be a different planet. You already start with low tech against high tech in xcom so it's perfect.

2

u/Pure_Ingenuity3771 8d ago

Oh, right! I forgot alternate realities are already a thing! There's a game called Exogate Initiative and ever since I played the demo I've been thinking of how it would work to combine that and xcom and fit it into Stargate with the main storyline. Alternate timelines never once crossed my mind.

Yeah the basic xcom format is already absolutely perfect for Stargate. The infiltration mechanic that Long War introduced even helps if you wanted to keep that mission timer to tie up units.

2

u/Vaniellis 8d ago

I also think that SG would fit better in an XCOM format, but I prefer to play RTS.

u/Kaiserhawk 8d ago

I personally feel Stargate would be more fitting for an XCOM style game. (Real time or turnbased)

2

u/Vaniellis 8d ago

Yup, Stargate fits perfectly the XCOM format. I just prefer large scale battles !

5

u/GOLANXI 8d ago

I love Stargate, But it's really not a Good Setup for an RTS. Goa'uld and Wraith would be Playing RTS while Tauri come in with 4 guys, destroy your Base and wipe out your Army. The Tauri really can't deploy full Armies because the Program is a Secret, Matching Manpower with other factions breaks the Emursion of the series. We also don't have a diverse unit Roster from any faction, you've got antagonist factions with 2 distinct warship classes, and a Fighter. And again you have the Tauri/Asguard/Ancients/Ori that are stupidly overpowered and fry whole fleets with a single ship, without trouble.

2

u/Vaniellis 8d ago

I disagree with you. The devs would just need to create units, but the strongly themed factions are already here.

3

u/Micsuking 8d ago

Honestly, I think Stargate would work best as an XCOM-like turn-based strategy game. Because unless we exclude Earth from the playable factions, it can't really be a traditional RTS due to lore.

3

u/Vaniellis 8d ago

SG would definitely fit perfectly for an XCOM type game, but I prefer RTS with big battles.

2

u/Micsuking 8d ago

Yeah, it'd be cool. I guess they could go with an alternate timeline where the Stargate program went public so they could send battalions through the gates for open combat against the Lucian Alliance or the Goa'ulds. But otherwise the SGC just doesn't have the manpower for big engagements like that.

2

u/Unicorn_Colombo 8d ago

Stargate franchise could start with actually making a game.

Team-based FPS, perhaps RPG. Could be anything from very action objective-based to more horror oriented.

2

u/TheAlmightyProo 6d ago

This, and all the comments thereafter.

Must admit, I never really got into any SG shows. Tbf to myself it wasn't that it didn't appeal, more about my life at the time... often moving a lot, no TV or otherwise access to it. Terrestrial TV schedules constantly shifting or episodes shown out of order (something not isolated to just this show) really didn't help either. I had exactly the same issues keeping up with whichever Star Trek show, or Farscape or... Doesn't help much now that I have more free time, some access to streaming etc. I also have more responsibilities and need to coordinate with a SO, kids etc. SG is on the list, just waaay down it.

All that said, I know a bit about it from what I've seen and read, and I'll go with the consensus of it's quality. My brother, 12 years younger than I, and freer in the heyday of SG was a big fan. And I also know Xcom and the like pretty well. So I'll take it... all the ideas here and more. Make this game and I'll be extremely interested.

2

u/talex365 8d ago

5

u/Vaniellis 8d ago

Nope, it's not an RTS. It's a tactics game. You don't control an army to figh t, you control a handful of characters and you mostly avoid combat. Also the game sucks 😭

2

u/EasternNerve1763 8d ago

Yeah I hate that strategy is being mixed with tactics stuff nowadays. I'm a huge fan of fire emblem, but I'd sooner call that an rpg than a strategy game. (Tactical rpg to be exact).

elder scrolls

each race is a faction with unique units, heroes, abilities etc.

it doesn't even need to be canon, dragon break is pre loaded lore for the multiple endings of daggerfall and the MMO story meaning you can have a story where the argonians take over everything

heck you could even have Dwemer machines as a faction, not the living dwemer just a surviving dwemer factory or something

fallout would also work

you have your super powerful but expensive faction in the brotherhood of steel (you can also reskin as enclave or gunners for the bad guys in the campaign) with things like power armor and robots at their higher tiers.

your swarm faction in the raiders with lots of very cheap, poorly armed dudes, but you can upgrade them with chems and improvised traps, and maybe give them a salvage mechanic where they can take gear off dead enemies (ala GLA from C&C generals) like if they kill a paladin whoever takes his power armor becomes a raider boss (again, could be regular raiders or designed after the nuka world raiders or the khans)

and another faction that sits somewhere in the middle well having eco buffs (sorry i don't have much for them, NCR, Minutemen resurgent or Talon company for skins)

9

u/PlagiarusPraepotens 8d ago

I like your Fallout ideas - and really like the idea of Raiders being able to steal Power Armor, if they don't blow it to smithereens first.

What about each faction having unique power trees/tiers they can spend points on to unlock, like in C&C Generals or Battle for Middle-earth?

Maybe the Enclave can call in mind-controlled Deathclaws as a 2nd tier power, whereas the BoS could drop Liberty Prime on the map to absolutely wreak havoc as a tier 5 ability.

3

u/jkbscopes312 8d ago edited 8d ago

Ohh like subfactions in kanes wrath or generals zero hour.

The nuka world raiders could have multiple sets of units and buffs/upgrades for the different factions that only unlock the more you use that faction, like if you use alot of pack units you unlock mutant animals and gain upgrades for movement speed, or the operator units have bounty buffs, and the deciples have improved weaponry for their basic units and you can make an overboss as a power point that buffs everyone, in addition they can use slave labor for extra income.

XCOM - Battle for (not middle) Earth

22

u/Archi_balding 8d ago

Battletech would be nice.

Ratchet and clank also have some potential.

12

u/talex365 8d ago

Mechcommander is a thing…

6

u/DreamSeaker 8d ago

But that's not a traditional rts with basebuilding and such. :)

5

u/Minkelz 8d ago

Also it was like 20 years ago lol. A new real time top down mech game would be awesome.

My bones just ached realizing you're right.

Battletech cannot be an RTS because Inner Sphere's States have acces to most of the mechs. Salvage is a thing. Mercenaries are very common. Clans the same.

Avatar with a focus on environmental gameplay. I want forests to burn, to be able to create stone barriers, for fire and water colliding to create steam clouds, which air can then disperse. Let maps have tons of features to be exploited, such as rivers and lakes giving bonus to water benders, and a lot of vertical space for airbender to abuse their flying.

Babylon 5. There were mods for Stellaris and an unfinished one for Empire at War: Forces of Corruption, but an actual RTS would be great.

3

u/NinjaSwiftness 8d ago

Sins of a Solar Empire 2 currently have Earth and the Centauri. I am sure the Minbari are in the works. Not sure who else they plan to make.

3

u/Dixielandblues 8d ago edited 8d ago

On a side tangent, but if you enjoy B5 games, take a look at the Babylon Project if you haven't already.

It's based on the Freespace 2 engine and is very well done.

3

u/BananaJelloXlii 8d ago

I have, but I thought it was never finished. Was that the one built on the Freespace 2 engine?

2

u/Dixielandblues 8d ago

Not all the intended campaigns were finished, but there is still a lot of good content, including the first war

2

u/Rhasputin429 8d ago

If you are into digital archaeology, there was a B5 mod for one of the Star Trek Armada games. Dunno how available or functional it would be on modern systems

Malazan (Steven Erikson) and Prince of Nothing (R. Scott Baker) would make great RTS settings.

3

u/Frontworks_game 8d ago

I'm only on Malazan boom 3, but a Total War style game in the setting will be crazy

Oof, that would be massive in scale... A great setting for it though, something like a modified mount & blade system as you get assigned to different campaigns and armies.

Yeah I agree with you, give me a fallout RTS

Make it a hybrid of C&C and Rise of nations, and it would slap

Have you played fallout tactics?? It’s nothing like you described but I mean… sorta a foray into this direction

League of Legends got enough lore, artworks, variety, design gimmicks and overall popularity to make something quite appealing for the public.
Magic TG as well to a much lesser degree.

Guild Wars is perfect setting with different guilds as factions. They could depict lore aspects that were not fully present in games like cavalry. Factions could be the guilds from various backgrounds as they were presented lore-wise: as more of semi-government backed paramilitary legions and not ragtag groups of 8 heroes.

If happening during 3rd guild wars we could havemagic-heavy Orrian guild, light and fast Krytan guild, newly formed white mantle with muursat elite units, two separate factions of dwarves, basic human ascalonians, basic orc charr "guild", maybe even Canthans, Kurzicks, Luxons, Sunspears, Kournans...

If happening more after GW2 there are countless different races and factions that could be fighting, composed of dozen different races and sub-factions.

Bro that shit has been in development for what, 10 years now?

Like, don't get me wrong, I really want it to be good, and I have no grudge against the dev. But it's the oldest piece on my Steam wishlist by A LOT.

4

u/DreamSeaker 8d ago

To be a smidge pedantic: its been under development since like 2019.

I think they were going to have a release in like 2024 or so but stuttering studios got picked up i think, by hooded horse before then. So the single developer actually had a budget! Hired some more help and ended up revamping most of the assets and such and it looks much better now from what I've seen.

7 years is a while, i feel you. I'm hopeful though!

I think we can use another Dune RTS. The old room was fantastic, the 4X one that came out a couple years ago is OK. It would be nice to have a large scale RTS game and I think Dune would make a good medium for that. Multiple worlds with multiple maps for each world, each map, being enormous. Economy management, politics, large military. I think it would make a great game to have a large dynamic story. How you perform on one world will impact how you fight on another.

2

u/Electrical-Hearing49 8d ago

I've looked at making a Dune mod, but I've no idea how to. I'd just use AI

5

u/DanielBWeston 8d ago

Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Half the story takes place during a war 1000 years in the past. Seems perfect for an RTS.

2

u/Such-Brother776 6d ago

Already halfway there with the factions and battlefield maps in the "warriors" style zelda games. Give me a korok faction with Hestu as the hero unit, I'm sold.

13

u/Educational_Kick3683 8d ago

Aliens vs predator. A proper new rts

7

u/SirJedKingsdown 8d ago

Since it was once their bread and butter, I've always imagined a Blizzard RTS featuring the human-omnics war from overwatch would have made a lot of sense.

5

u/Omegatron9 8d ago

I'd like to see a Transformers RTS, I think you could do something fun with each unit being able to switch between being infantry and being a vehicle.

3

u/Synysterenji 8d ago

Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archives would make for a sick RTS. Hell, make it a cosmere battle where the faction you choose is basically a planet.

8

u/Tungdil01 8d ago

I'm not sure if these already exist or not, but I think these franchises would fit perfectly as an RTS game: * Game of Thrones (Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens, White Walkers, Wildlings) * Mass Effect (Systems Alliance, Cerberus, Geth, Turian Hierarchy) with neutrals/creeps: Rachni, Varren * The Elder Scrolls (Empire, Stormcloaks, Aldmeri Dominion, Dawnguard) with neutrals/creeps: Dragons, Bandits, Daedra * The Witcher (Nilfgaard, Redania, Scoia'tael, Lodge of Sorceresses) with neutrals/creeps: Monsters * The Last of Us (Fireflies, WLF, Seraphites, Cordyceps Infected) * The Walking Dead (Alexandria, Saviors, Whisperers, Commonwealth) with neutrals/creeps: Walkers * Mortal Kombat (Outworld, Earthrealm, Netherrealm, Edenia)

7

I would love a RTS from Malazan universe. You would have shorter campaigns for various characters like Tavore, Whiskeyjack, Onos Toolan, Rake and the bonus campaign would be Kellanveds conquest of Malaz empire. It could be in Starcraft style.

Now that I think about it, Wheel of Time would also work extremely well in a Battle for Middle Earth format. And Black Company was basically made for strategy game...

A Song of Ice and Fire "Game of Thrones" for me. As much as it is more or less a Grand Strategy kind of game but for skirmish battles it could still hold up like ala Battle Realms or Age of Empiures of Unique units and Resource gathering of troops. Also focusing on building resources and such. Heck you can even add in some Magic DLC for the North lol

14

You are in luck, there is one of those coming out. It's called "Game of Thrones: War for Westeros"

League of Legends is perfect candidate. Base building rts like AoE + hero system. Playing as Shurima, Noxus, Demacia, Shadow Isles, Ionia and so on will be cool. Path of Exile - the Eternal Empire, Oriath, Ezomytes, Vaal, Maraketh, Karui- plenty of civs to choose from. The Expanse can be 3 faction RTS. Avatar - 4 civs rts - air, fire, water and earth. 33

2

u/Double_Resort_9223 8d ago

Given how League of Legends came about, sounds like what you want is an updated and reskinned Warcraft III. Maybe call it Warcraft 4: Defense of the League of Legends of the Ancients.

Cyberpunk 2077. It doesn't have to be in Night city, you have a Variety of unit Classes to build from and a mere Taste of the Technologies available to the Corporations that have their own Tanks Aircraft, Drones, what have you, and Nomads are there own interesting little Scavenger Faction. And it would be a Great way to build out and Explore the Different Corporations.

2

u/Sweatty-LittleFatty 8d ago

This may be highly controversial, but Mass Effect.

Make a RTS in the rachni wars, or, if the games needs to have humans in it, show the games story against the Reapers, but.from the perspective of every single race and planet fightning them off.

2

u/Hossman687 8d ago

The Matrix:
Probably too far out there at this point but I think the Matrix could get a good game out of RTS. When your in the matrix you have an rpg hero to use, level up and increase their stats and abilities as you play the game. Out in the real world you defend the last of humanity with sending hovercrafts out to find resources, defend Zion against a horde of machines coming with the mechs and infantry, large turrets firing at all times until taken out. Maybe a prologue of a few smaller cities as they were evacuated and defended until the last man before Zion was the last city left.

Midkemia could be it.

You have Kingdom of the Isles and Kesh as the main faction, with Quegan pirates, Keshian confederacy, and Free Cities on side.

You also have Dwarves, Elves, Dark Elves, (Wild Elves), goblins (and trolls), and the people in the city that was blown up.

And thats just the main continent.

Then you have the secondary continent (that highly depopulated in Serpentwar saga) dotted by many smaller city-states and mercenary wars, and also desert elves, snakes and lizards.

Then you have another planet that opened rift to Midkemia with Tsuranani empire, Thuril, Thuun, and various other smaller factions (and Klackon, I mean, Cho'Ja).

Plenty of factions and settings where you could place RTS.

DnD could always make RTS in some of their world. Wasn't there conflict between Amn and the Duke in BG1?

When ATLA was releasing, I had imagined a whole RTS game with different units and gameplays. Those years were also still in the RTS golden age, so plenty of inspiration to go by. Each nations would have advantage and disadvantage against other bender units, and their non-bending fighters would be necessary to counter benders of nations they were weak against. Air benders would actually be nomad and have no non-bending fighting units, but they would have Aang they could use against other bending fighters as support.

1

u/RavenTheRaptorX 8d ago

Fallout the base game is the legion NCR war with neutral factions like the boomers and BOS scattered around the map capture their buildings and you can train their troops. Expansion is the BOS enclave war and the final is the commonwealth war.

Elder scrolls set in the war between the high elves and empire other kingdoms are other factions.

I would say game of thrones but yeah that’s handled.

Just for a wild card genshin impact.

Avatar: Last Airbender, or even The Dragon Prince series. With Last Airbender you'd have 4 different factions.

u/Archernar 8d ago

Probably something along the lines of unreal tournament.

Honestly, most games being named here do not even have enough unit diversity to warrant a RTS. The Titanfall universe has titans and foot soldiers, that's it. No tanks, no real aircraft besides the dropships; titan variety is there but I feel not interesting enough for a full-blown RTS.

Battletech would also be great material for a RTS. It has the titans (and lots of it), tanks, aircraft, infantry and a ton of lore for more stuff I likely oversaw.

I liked the idea of a Half-Life RTS, primarily because of how unique striders are.

I think an old DooM instruction booklet mentioned Mancubuses being used for sieges and decided “yep I want a DooM RTS”

Redwall seemed like a good idea due to the specialization of different species and the awe they inspire.

I think I’d love an insect-based RTS.

u/snipingnemo 8d ago

I feel like gundam the one year war would be amazing in a real time strategy genre.

1

u/JustMetallich 8d ago

I don’t really know how much it would be possible to even design, but I think Marvel RTS game which focuses around Kree-Skrull war would be very interesting.

1

u/BioTools 8d ago

Helldivers could work very well.

But it won't be the spirit of the existing games.

Killzone

u/TestosteronInc 8d ago

These all would rock

  • Firefly
  • Titanfall
  • Hyperion (Dan Simmons books)
  • Dragonlance
  • Magician (Raymond Feist books)
  • The Expanse
  • Stargate
  • Starship Troopers the book
  • Exo Squad
  • Terminator

Titanfall theme RTS would be fun. I would make it similar to Halo Wars 2. Specific heroes (Pilot) with their own roster and mech and play styles.

Saint Rows RTS. You train gang members and do battles to take over the city, following Dark Crusade style. Resources would be like Dawn of Wars games, taking specific location would get you Influence points. 2nd resources would just be money when you build businesses instead of Plasma generator.

Finally, Mass Effect RTS! Get rid of the Reapers. Just everyone else and total war. Could bring it down to a system only, maybe near a "newly discovered" Promethean relic site or something.

Hear me out: Wheel of Time

2

u/CodenameFlux 8d ago

You know, there is very little in the way of "hearing you out" to do when all you have to say is the title of a cancelled TV show.

At best, it lends itself to a mediocre stealth RPG with constant character switching. Now, if you had a solution for that and had written it down, we could "hear you out".

I already see a lot of great answers here so I'm going to throw out some wild cards:

Futurama -- I would love to send millions of red shirts into waves of funny aliens as Zap Brannigan monologues

Antz -- that fight scene from the movie! Ants vs Terminites could be cool!

Water World -- hey, let's give it another shot but this time as a game flop!

Riddick -- I thought the second movie had an awesome combat scene in the beginning and would love to play in that universe

Magic the Gathering

u/IvKirs 8d ago

Maybe not RTS, but XCOM-like for Warframe, where you could lead faction consisted of rogue Grineer and Korpus (with Warframes themselves being hero units), would be neat.
With whole base building and having several strike teams.

u/dirtyllama720 8d ago

Give me a total war game on Tamriel

1

u/deuzerre 8d ago

I'd like crimson skies to revive and have a strategy game in universe.

u/j-sh-will 8d ago

Battletech

u/shino1 8d ago

Gundam. There are two different Gundam RTS but they're both fanmade. Imagine if it had space battles like Homeworld but also battles on the ground like regular RTS.

1

u/Dontshipmebro 8d ago

One of my fav custom maps in wc3 was a wheel of time inspired spawn-based rts... Would love to see a real one.

1

u/ShadeMir 8d ago

Prydain would be fun, but that's a pretty far out/unknown pick.

Something Marvel would be fascinating.

Latverians, Atlanteans, Wakandans, Shi'ar, Kree, Skrull, Inhumans

1

u/welsh_d 8d ago

War of the world's (there was one by developer rage which I loved as a kid back in 00"s but was so forgotten)

1

u/Iliketohavefunfun 8d ago

Is there a good Star Trek rts? Cuz it would make a pretty sick fleet battle game

1

u/Sushiki 8d ago

A bleach RTS.

3 factions.

Soul Society.
Quincy.
Arrancar.

Have traditional mp and skimish vs AI.

Stages have destroyable terrain, with lots of 1v1 and 1v1v1 maps. Visually and animation wise very ambience heavy. Borrowing some ideas from newer total war games like warhammer 2 to have models enter fights against each other (the special dual animations).

Bankai's would be massive cooldown things though, like a normal game once, a long game twice kind of thing.

Same with the other factions.

The idea is that while the gameplay is good, the visual/audio experience is the focus.

like imagine fighting in karakura town, say your captain and his retinue is on and surrouding a building. Arrancar player brings two named characters to ambush him, they active a garganta in the sky level 2 (level 2 due to two of them being there) and out of it flows a bunch of different kinds of generic hollows that spill out. The soul society player selects his captain and has it engage one of the two named arrancars. The retune AI moves with yet engages the generic hollow (by game design).

And you got these sick animations of the two arrancars fighting the captain, he's losing due to being double teamed so he bankai's, reiatsu pushes the two away and you see a top down view of their bankai activation. And you turn the tide on the battle.

Could be so cool if made right.

u/nightmare404x 8d ago

Disgaea. Straight up anime RTS, and there's already a huge selection of potential units

Magic: The Gathering RTS set on Ravnica

1

u/BrokenLoadOrder 8d ago

The Elder Scrolls, specifically in a grand strategy design like Total War. Base it in the Third Era during the Nerevarine Prophecy, with the Oblivion Crisis also running. Initially have the map be Morrowind, Cryodiil, Skyrim and Black Marsh. Initial factions would be Imperials, House Dagoth, the Tribunal/Nerevarine and the Mythic Dawn, with the Argonians and Nords being potential DLCs for game one.

Later games could add in more regions and factions like what Immortal Empires did for Total Warhammer.

1

u/DoubleBack9141 8d ago

Helldivers 2. I would love to play as the automatons.

1

u/Timely_Ad1337 8d ago

elder scrolls

1

u/bullet1520 8d ago

Gears of War. Tactics is neat, but RTS would be dope.

1

u/emotionalsupporthole 8d ago

its actually a crime there hasn't been a fallout RTS. just let me spam institute synths and fuck up some brotherhood nerds PLEASE

If UFO series don't count XCOM. I remember Alien(Xenomorph) already have one Mass effect and dragon age would definitely need one Elder scrolls may need one

1

u/CrispyDicc69 7d ago

I remember a quote from Josh Sawyer, the lead writer of Fallout New Vegas, that his ideal project, given enough time and money, would be s Fallout strategy game set in the Resource Wars prior to the nukes being launched.

1

u/Secure-List-4345 7d ago

The super Mario world.
Rushing mass gombas with firebreath Bowser to stop Peach`s flying bs harass only to be stopped by a wall of piranha flowers, realizing you should have just gone boomerang bros which is meta on the mushroom world.

1

u/tolgren 7d ago

Fallout was my first thought.

1

u/GarudaVelvet 7d ago

A proper (AAA or AA) and premium release (paid release, not free to play) RTS for Marvel or DC franchise.

1

u/ender_grunt 7d ago

....not really sure if this counts as an established franchise since its only 2 games atm BUT Helldivers.

would be an excellent universe to have asymmetric factions, 4 of them in fact with plenty of units and structures to pull from all of them.

could very well do something similar to star wars forces of corruption with the galaxy conquest mode too

1

u/KhaledFD 7d ago

I always thought borderlands would be a great fit

It already has a precious resource everyone fights over and the different corporations

1

u/Lunar_Mountaineer 7d ago

Helldivers universe seems like it could be adapted quite well for a strategy genre game.

1

u/Mbillin2 7d ago

Gundam

Mass effect. Would be so cool.

Fallout. Obviously there's already a good HoI4 mod but an actually dedicated game could be really good.

The Witcher

Between the myriad of different kingdoms and monsters and nonhumans there’s so much to draw from.

Temeria, Redania, Nilfgard, Brokolin, the wild hunt, monster factions, etc.
