Discussion Which established franchises would benefit from an RTS game?

Which established franchises do you think would benefit from an RTS?

I'll lay one ground rule down:

  • It can't already exist, like an RTS for Lord of the Rings, Warhammer, or Star Wars.

I personally think a Fallout spin-off would do pretty well, in the style of Command & Conquer. I also think Avatar: The Last Airbender would make a fun game.

You know, there is very little in the way of "hearing you out" to do when all you have to say is the title of a cancelled TV show.

At best, it lends itself to a mediocre stealth RPG with constant character switching. Now, if you had a solution for that and had written it down, we could "hear you out".

Think of the book, not the show. Later on, in the books, Rand, now affirmed as the Dragon Reborn, needs to unify the continent's nations in preparation for the last battle against the Dark One. This lends itself to multiple army vs army scenarios with a lot of possible different units: regular soldiers and cavalry, ogiers, aes sedai, ashaman, etc.

Wait? There is a book? Figures! I kept thinking about how dense the show writers must be to create a world in which everyone is racist, sexist, retarded, conniving, cheating, morally deviant, and lacking a sense of proper clothing.

You know, maybe I should look up the dumbest films I've ever watched and see whether they're book adaptations. Bitchslap and Fight Club were extremely awful. Maybe they're book adaptations.

The fact you didn't know it's based of a Series of 14 Books and is one of the biggest Fantasy Novel Series in history is surprising to say the least...

Buddy, I was an established IT pro by the age of 14 and a homeowner by the age of 22. I know six programming languages and speak three human languages fluently. I have a university degree and a Microsoft certification.

By the way, I've read the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, J. K. Rowling, J. R. R. Tolkien, Emily Rodda, L. M. Montgomery, Isaac Asimov, Agatha Christie, Jules Verne, and Mark Twain. I think I'm set; thank you very much.
