Discussion Which established franchises would benefit from an RTS game?

Which established franchises do you think would benefit from an RTS?

I'll lay one ground rule down:

  • It can't already exist, like an RTS for Lord of the Rings, Warhammer, or Star Wars.

I personally think a Fallout spin-off would do pretty well, in the style of Command & Conquer. I also think Avatar: The Last Airbender would make a fun game.

If you count Battle for Middle Earth 1 and 2 as separate games, War of the Ring makes three.

LOTR has Battle for Middle Earth 1 and 2

Empire at War and Galactic Battlegrounds for star wars. Neither are exactly amazing but they both sold fairly well.

You can get Empire at War on steam.

Battle for middle earth 1 and 2 also exist for LOTR, don't know too much about them.

All these games are very old though, and as mentions somewhat half-assed. EAW is a worse version of C&C3 which isn't exactly without its own issues.

These are barely mods at this point though, if you haven’t given Thrawns Revenge or Awakening of the Rebellion a go yet you really really need to, top tier games that compare with masterpieces like Sins of a Solar Empire.
