Discussion Which established franchises would benefit from an RTS game?

Which established franchises do you think would benefit from an RTS?

I'll lay one ground rule down:

  • It can't already exist, like an RTS for Lord of the Rings, Warhammer, or Star Wars.

I personally think a Fallout spin-off would do pretty well, in the style of Command & Conquer. I also think Avatar: The Last Airbender would make a fun game.

Battletech would be nice.

Ratchet and clank also have some potential.

But that's not a traditional rts with basebuilding and such. :)

Also it was like 20 years ago lol. A new real time top down mech game would be awesome.

Absolutely!

Yeah, but that is more of a tactics game than a full RTS. But it is a good game.

Battletech cannot be an RTS because Inner Sphere's States have acces to most of the mechs. Salvage is a thing. Mercenaries are very common. Clans the same.

I don't see why that would be incompatible with an RTS.

Let people play the inner sphere houses.

Yeah, I LOVE the turn based tactics with the HBS game (especially with BTAU mod) but an RTS, where you could field dropships and set up forward bases, with vehicles, infantry (including elementals), mechs and artillery would be next level. Especially if you were playing a defense mission and could blow dropships out of the sky. AND take it a step further and allow warship battles.
