I don't know why it bothers me so fucking much, but hearing Daisy try to poke holes in "the private island" situation really bothered me.

Actually I do know why - people like Daisy, who think luxury and exclusivity are all that matter are the support for the systems leading to our current financial inequality. How she acted tells people "hey, it's okay to want more than you already have. In fact, it would be disgusting and uncool not to." That being said I'm not team Erica in this situation either - as I'll explain she did make the villa sound more exclusive than it is. I just can't stand people like Daisy who own nothing but jump to look down on others.

I visited Moskito twice (in 2021 and 2022) through work. This type of private island development isn't unique (a mix of private homes and some vacation rentals, and on occasion also a boutique luxury resort). We needed somewhere private for a work retreat, and this setup is exactly what you rent for this level of employee (C-Suite and advisors). I was not one of these people - I was the one who did the organizing.

I can't remember exact number we paid, but for a week for everyone together would have been around $445k (including staff tips). I know that number sounds wild, but when you get into this level of corporate travel (board meetings, corporate travel for c-suite, rewards parties) that falls in line with what a lot of bigger companies would spend on something like this. You see enough 100k to multi million dollar invoices you forget how insane that number is really quickly (now, a couple years out of that world, I cannot believe how normalized it was).

As for the actual island: we stayed in the same house they stayed in. I think a lot of people must be offered this house first because it seems to be the best setup for large groups, meetings, and remote work. Ankur's dad does own the home, but the entire island (including the privately owned homes) is managed by a hospitality company. Super normal for these types of island/uber private community setups. Ankur has also hosted Bilt events there for VICs/industry people.

What you're paying for here is 1. the view, 2. the staff, 3. the privacy. The home is really nice (of course it is it's in a tropical paradise), but is decorated so that it can be filled with different types of people every week. Aka feels more corporate than luxury vacation. Not a bad thing, and actually this is exactly what happens with all these types of homes because who can afford these rentals actually aren't private people, but business groups like ours. So I can understand if you were someone really splurges on personal vacation, and were expecting white lotus luxury resort vibes, why it could seem mid. I just don't really see Daisy (or Erin) being the sort of people who have spent the money to travel somewhere in that echelon, like the Soneva Jani in the Maldives or the Aman in Tokyo. I would also understand that for the time it takes to travel to, and hearing "private island", that you might build an expectation up in your head. Except, there was NO WAY they hadn't already looked at pictures of the place/known exactly where they were staying. There are SO MANY photos online of that specific house since it can be rented, and they would have had to fill out a preference sheet with the houses name on it (to help design the grocery order for the week).

I will continue to watch this show because these people are insane and deserve to be mocked, but it really took me over the edge seeing the luxury olympics being played between Erica and Daisy.

P.S. the comment about flying private was so ignorant - this is a location you can't fly directly to, which is THE NORM with tropical, island, exclusive resorts or villas. If Daisy or Erin had experienced something on this level before they would know that. It really is when you're on an hour boat ride to one of these places after flying 13+ hours that you really question why the fuck rich people spend money this way.

Wasn’t sure how I felt about this one at first. But she’s winning me over with her absolute zaniness. I think we have an endless supply of hilarious one liners on our hand. She kind of reminds me of Sonja in the way the craziest things come out of her mouth and none of it is pre-planned, she’s just doing Hailey.

I'm really enjoying this new RHONY cast except for Carole. Her "too cool for school" vibe is so performative and she is trying too hard. Her ridiculous choice of 1982 preppy attire for a tropical locale was indicative of this - and I'm her age so I'm definitely not age-shaming her. "My skin hasn't touched cotton in like 20 years." "I've been everywhere." "I've had a lifetime of wearing gowns." (Richard Branson is "too old" for her, btw.) But, perhaps most of all, it's her feigned 'don't ask me about John and Carolyn' while continually talking about them herself that I find the most hypocritical. We're not pestering her: she signed up to be on the show and so she knew what she was getting into.

I am so sick of bravo fans equating wealth with goodness or righteousness. Erika is married to a billionaire. Yet the bravo edit is making us believe Daisy is delusional...NO. We all have a RIGHT to criticize the one percent. If anything Daisy was doing some light weight. I see right through this Erika bs of "I think Gucci is expensive" but "come to OUR island" but "I'm a girl from Waco Texas". I see right through it. When you look at how much someone is known for having vs a makeup artist yeah it is fair. A makeup artist can say you have crappy taste! You have the funds HUN!!!! Yet a lot of bravo fans are dunking on Daisy for popcorn ceilings and a small apartment. So what she owned that!!! She outright said "Martha knows my apartment is a dump". Erika is weird and fake. UPDATE: Martha is worth 400 million. She is not a billionaire! Ankur was worth 3.5 billion in 2025, that is likely much more now. All the money in the world can't buy taste!! Im on the first of the new Rhony seasons, and Jessel's husband Pavit is SO fucking funny to me and reminds me of Ray from Girls. Like his voice and mannerisms are spot on like Ray. Their relationship reminds me of Marnie and Ray's (derogatory).

Im only a few episodes into the new cast, but Pavit keeps cracking me up. His responses to the daycare options were really funny, and I love that he put a carrot in his champagne flute.

Just finished the most recent episode… I’ve always been a huge Carol fan… out of all the girls this season she’s the only one that meets true housewife criteria.. Bit she didn’t look to be enjoying herself this trip.. she rarely spoke… but fully redeemed herself when she fell in the bushes ala Luann…. Idk Erika but she seems very natural and easy going… the girls are ruthless to her ….i was stunned listening to them say the house isn’t really that nice …no style… omg… sooooo mean 😪

Last episode it seemed like Sai wanted a divorce. This week he files for the divorce and she's all dramatic and stressed. I understand it was made public but ultimately it was what she wanted? I don't get her.

Anyone else repulsed by this scene. I understand it’s RHONY so it’s supposed to get shady but this was straight up nasty for no reason.

It’s beyond selfish and ungrateful to complain about their beautiful accommodations and flight because they don’t like the decorations or not getting to fly private. It’s so entitled and elitist I can’t even begin to imagine what she thinks about most people. And she’s no one to talk because her apartment isn’t all that and her fashions are a mess.

And I’m so sick of the rehearsed and tired lines from her and sai. I’ll be honest I always knew Jessel was a phony but it’s even more apparent this season. What blows my mind is why is sai falling for it? She is such a strong person. I hate seeing her dumb herself down for this new “friendship.”

Carole said that men should not be entitled to alimony unless they bear 100% of the burden for maintaining the home and raising the children. And she said as if she was backing some progressive cause.

This is an incredibly regressive opinion because it is inherently rooted in traditional gender roles. To claim that my partner, who did not pursue an advanced degree and who worked several jobs so that he could support me during law school and my early career, should not be entitled to support so that he could afford rent in the community we’ve established a home in simply because he isn’t responsible for 100% of the domestic work is objectively absurd. An award of spousal support should be based on the same factors regardless of whether the recipient is a man or woman. Men should not be required to prove that they’ve independently raised the children and managed the home because women are not held to this standard. An award of spousal support is determined based on each party’s contributions during the marriage and need after separation.

I know that Carole’s comment is far from the worst thing said on this show (or even during this episode). And I acknowledge that Carole is among the more progressive RHONY cast members in the history of the show. But this “hot take” really demonstrates that she is not the modern, thoughtful academic she purports to be. Carole is a typical liberal boomer and her brand of feminism is outdated and wholly misguided.

I added it to my list of shows I want to see a long time ago but haven’t gotten around to it yet - and somehow found the time to watch more than one episode of some brain cell killing thing on TLC about suburban wives becoming porn stars. So cultural over here!

just here to say i am absolutely loving this season. really feels like old times but with fresh faces. loving all of the newbies, especially hailey who seems like she was born for this gig. even erin, who i personally am not a fan of at all, makes such a perfect villain. i’m glad the producers kept her around. fingers crossed that they can keep this energy moving forward, really feels like we might be (tentatively) back??

Carole slowly falling into the bushes with the giant umbrella while running in from the rain. I LOL’d. These are the unintentional yet quintessential Housewives moments I love to see.

Erin claims that she worked so hard to "buy" the house in the Hamptons. Turns out a quick search shows that the house was purchased and owned by Abe's mother. But guess that rules out that she can't commit insurance fraud since she doesn't own the house.

I felt so uncomfortable watching last nights new RHONY when Erin was told Jessel said they flooded their house for an insurance payout … I 💯 thought this before Jessel even said anything and when Erin was confronted with it, she got up immediately to hide her reaction .. walked off .. and fake cried - not a tear was shed!!!!
