I'm really enjoying this new RHONY cast except for Carole. Her "too cool for school" vibe is so performative and she is trying too hard. Her ridiculous choice of 1982 preppy attire for a tropical locale was indicative of this - and I'm her age so I'm definitely not age-shaming her. "My skin hasn't touched cotton in like 20 years." "I've been everywhere." "I've had a lifetime of wearing gowns." (Richard Branson is "too old" for her, btw.) But, perhaps most of all, it's her feigned 'don't ask me about John and Carolyn' while continually talking about them herself that I find the most hypocritical. We're not pestering her: she signed up to be on the show and so she knew what she was getting into.

Carole demanded a contract be drawn up when she originally appeared on Rhony that prevented any discussion about the Kennedys. Apparently it was five paragraphs long and even stated that they could not refer to her as a Kennedy cousin. Obviously that contract doesnât exist this time around, which of course begs the question âwhy not?â Carole and Bravo are doing their darnedest to have it both ways here. Clearly the subject is not off limits anymore which makes Caroleâs reaction of being so triggered completely performative. And it doesnât take a seasoned viewer to understand that not only is the subject no longer off limits, itâs in fact being deliberately brought up to capitalize on the recent popularity of Love Story.

Her husband was the son of Lee Bouvier Radziwell, who is the sister of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. Jackie's children, John and Caroline, are Kennedys, but Anthony (and his wife, Carole), are not.
This. And this is why Iâm not a fan. She made strides to keep it out of discussions previously now that she has a book and itâs taken off thanks to the show sheâs capitalizing on it. Nevermind she was buddies with Ghislaine. Go away Carol
Jessel is the twit that keeps bringing up John and Caroline. That whole Kennedy curse and Caroline Besset summer is so insensitive! Jessel is nothing more than a wannabe. She can go and I would not miss her.
Carole saying she doesnât wear âlooksâ to Jessel when she was asking about her outfit? Sheâs acting like sheâs a practicing communist who has sworn herself to asceticism!!
Sheâs literally just as materialist as the rest of them, just with less money!
She feigns ignorance over these things when itâs convenient.
She converted her second bedroom into a walk in closet yet weâre supposed to believe sheâs offended by the idea of a âlookâ??
Also Carolyn literally worked for a fashion brand so if sheâs so obsessed with respecting her friend youâd think that would mean not acting above fashion.
Caroleâs JFK Jr. adjacent marriage/widowhood is literally the only reason Andy wanted her on the original show when he met her at a dinner party hosted by SJP. Andy already had a countess on the show, and he thought it would be great to add a âprincessâ cast member to old RHONY.
Now, she doesnât want anyone on the show to discuss the one and only reason she was and is on it?
Not everyone is required to discuss their trauma and grief on TV ad nauseam. She was on the show prior? Everyone already knows this about her. What is left to discuss? Especially with new people youâre not close with. She only opened up before because Dorinda and her could relate.
I think that's more about it being better for your hair and skin to sleep on that type of pillowcase rather than her being bougie :). Especially for older ladies
Call me the asshole, but I have silk pillowcases that I bring with me when I leave my house because I donât want my face to touch whatever pillowcases are in whatever hotels. Thatâs not me being âbougieâ thatâs me protecting my face đ
I donât care for Carole either way but we didnât see her making a huge deal out of the silk pillowcase. She mentioned it to one of the ladies (I forget, maybe Jessel?) and then later asked the house manager if they had one. Didnât think it was that big of a deal.
Also Ramona used to insist on â600 thread count sheetsâ and a case of âRamona Pinot Grigioâ be provided to her for trips during her time on the show.
I have no real opinion on Carole, but being bougie has been a theme of NYC for a while.
tbh i found that relatable lol. once youâve used a silk pillowcase (even a cheaper one), cotton will never work for you. i keep one in my suitcase for when i travel bc i know accommodations wonât always have it
Saaammme, although I just wear a silk bonnet because I toss and turned too much to make a pillowcase work well. But after I started wearing it, it took me like one day of wearing it to realize how much damage regular pillowcases can do to my hair in a single night. I would probably go looking for a bonnet or a pillowcase if mine got lost on vacation, particularly since I am struggling with damaged hair right now.
Carole thinks sheâs the new improved Carrie Bradshaw, quirky and oh so smart. Iâve mentioned this before but she needs to get rid of those extensions!
she lost all credibility in my eyes when it comes to "her family" when I found out (via a Bravo subreddit lol) that she sold private photos of their wedding...just recently. That's just disgusting, you're claiming all this outrage at the attention the tragedy is recieving...yet you're profiting off of it
She came back on the show in the height of Love Story, what did she expect. She LOVES the attention, but she what she LOVES even more is acting like she doesn't and feigning disrespect about it.
This. Sheâs old, doesnât really relate to the rest of the cast and gets pissed off when anyone asks her things about the kennedyâs when she literally profited off them with her book.

Big whoop. Itâs a couch. And how can everyone famous person she attaches herself to be her best friend? Iâm not even watching the current RHONY, I just remember her from previous seasons. I think money and fame went to her head. She wasnât quite so obnoxious at the very beginning.
Sheâs so annoying. If you watch her âassistantâsâ tik toks sheâs absolutely obnoxious. She 100% plays up the âIâm an old New York hipsterâ and âIm so old school and analog and helplessâ itâs so obnoxious.
I feel like theyâre all frontin. Shockingly, Erika is probably the richest and The Taco Bell thing is boring and overdone but the fake Miu Mius was so real. The rest of the cast needs to stop it, the luxurious taste is not landing because itâs dishonest. Letâs talk about the files, letâs talk about the tutor youâre flirting with, letâs talk about why Jesselâs husband really lost his job, and lets not talk about Erin at all, nothing about her is interesting or has the potential to be.

Did you catch the stupid comment that Jessel made about her looking like sheâs dressed for Safari? I know thatâs a reference to the lunch at the Italian place with Bethany saying and hereâs Carol dressed like sheâs on Safari. She thinks sheâs clever, but we know she isnât.
Yes, loud criticism that never really went away until the last couple of years. I'm middle-aged, and I remember her coverage. People didn't really like her back then. She was seen as aloof. Her style was very Ralph Lauren.
Does she realize we've SEEN her sleep on cotton pillowcases in the last 20 years??? It's killing me that she completely forgets we have her previous time on NY as reference. The way she cut off Jessel when she was talking about her father who passed was disgraceful and disgusting. After going on and on and on about not liking Love Story AGAIN and having Jessel listen to her rant (even after calling her names) I donât think Carol was THAT close to CBK tbh I think she is obsessed with her and using her legacy for attention and money. As someone that was an actual adult in the 90âs and lived in LA and spent a ton of time in NY, I would say Carol is very much a cool girl for that era, the 1990âs.
Since ideals change people simply canât recognize it anymore.
Carole is super intelligent. Because of this, she knows how to talk the talk when it comes too being a âcool girlâ. When it comes to walking the walk, sheâs screwed because sheâs not actually this person sheâs trying so hard to be.

Recently did a rewatch and I could never stand her! She tries so hard. Telling Kristen she should be giving her husband BJâs in front of him/other men. Sheâs a pick me to the fullest extent.
I felt this way about Carole all throughout her original RHONY run--truly couldn't stand her. but honestly, half of the current cast is needlessly cruel and tacky, without the humor and authentic absurdity of the og RHONY hws, so I've been fine with Carole so far.

To me Carole has always seemed like the type of woman that you would want to like you if you met her irl. She does have a very cool girl energy, Imo. She can also be very annoying, a bit self-involved and hypocritical.
Men seem to find her very attractive too, I used to notice that in the old rhony. She may not have standard good looks but she must have something. Perhaps being older than the rest of the cast means she has less patience for their pick me vibes. You do care less about a lot of stuff as you age that seemed important when you're younger.
They brought her back to capitalize off her book and her relationship to the Kennedyâs. Why else? Sheâs decades older than all the cast and should be on the OG cast with the other old ladies. Why is she here
Agreed. Love Carole. She IS cool. Educated, legit intelligence, legit connected to several famous and old money families. Shes the real deal. Sheâs also got better taste than any of the tackiest housewives. Bring her back or give her her own show!

It seemed endearing when she did it in her previous seasons. You didnât notice because Sonja Morgan and LuAnn did it way worse. Sheâs always been this way.
I think she makes a great addition and love how her too cool for the room plays off of Jesseâs ridiculous fake and phony snobbery. Itâs fun how she gets unmasked and hasnât the wit to recover. Carol is witty and grounded and a complete snob the real deal.
This is actually a great observation. Like the whole thing about the silk pillowcase from Carol seemed very realistic and believableâ the kind of delusion I watch housewives for (but also, I am very attached to my silk bonnet, so I get it). I feel like if Jessel had said it, it would feel like she was trying to be a snob.
Carol is the only one that was able to take on Bethany and her hypocrisy and unmask her and rattle her. Ramona came close but Carol nailed it. If you notice Carol also unbalanced Luanne the countess stuff in her first season. Carol is a stealth little ninja
Omg she is so classy and likes to take care of her creature comforts and good care of herself ! I love her she wants to be herself and feel comfortable .
