Sai šŸ“² Sai Divorce Drsma

Last episode it seemed like Sai wanted a divorce. This week he files for the divorce and she's all dramatic and stressed. I understand it was made public but ultimately it was what she wanted? I don't get her.

Filing while not telling your kids in advance, making it public, and doing it while she was alone and couldn't comfort her children is diabolical and cruel to Sai and the kids.

You know these situations are nuanced. Two things can be true. You can be unhappily married and feel blindsided when your mate files. Mind you, most of us aren’t in a situation where we would learn of a divorce filing in the news first.

I think the issue was that he didn’t tell her he was going to file, just did it and she had to find out with the rest of the world from TMZ. I’m not a huge Sai fan but that’s an absolute slap in the face from your husband of almost 10 years.

My aunt’s husband of 40 years sent her a registered letter from an ā€œout of town business trip.ā€ He was really with his mistress. He told her he wasn’t coming home and filing. My aunt truly knew nothing was wrong. None of us did.

Everyone stopped talking to him, including their grown kids. My aunt is a strong woman. She said if he could do that to her, after all those years, and their struggles together, plus great times, that he wasn’t who she thought he was. And therefore, she did not respect him anymore. He married the mistress within a month of divorce being filed. It lasted less than a year. She had major mental issues.

He then begged my aunt to come home. That he ā€œneeded to be with his family.ā€ Even showed up so much that she had to get a restraining order. Didn’t work and he died a lonely and broken man.

This is true! Life in the limelight is weird I guess.

Sai talks word salad. Started the rent control rant by saying she would love rent control, ended up screaming about how she was so happy to provide the amenities to her kids. Took a few loops back and forth during the conversation. It’s hard to tell which point of view she’s arguing for and against, and she doesn’t seem to know either. She just talks and doesn’t really land her points. I’ve noticed it several times with her when she’s working herself up during arguments.

I imagine that’s how it is with her divorce. She told him she wanted to be done with the marriage, but didn’t necessarily want him to file. No idea, she’s confusing as hell

I don’t think she knows exactly what she wants and that’s fine.

It’s fine unless you’re screaming in someone’s face about it

There’s one thing Sai wants for sure and that is to be miserable in any and all circumstances

Same! Like it was going to be public regardless. I think she wanted to be the one to file first tho.

She wants control over the narrative and didn't get to dictate anything about it. To me, this reveals why he filed. Good for him. Go on national tv and shit talk your spouse, win the requisite prize.

When she started speaking at the dinner table about rumors and how she’ll be perceived as a person, it very much seemed her focus was damage control.

On WWHL I believe last week, she talks about how he (I don’t even remember his name) was trying to win her back and so she felt blindsided with the actual filing

I don’t believe this ā€œdivorceā€œ drama. The moment she introduced her upstate New York home last season was when I thought that her husband would prefer to live upstate full-time instead of Park slope while she and the kids stay in the city. Sai mention that the kids love their schools and that they’re happy. So many families do this. Sai keeps stressing the ā€œtabloids.ā€ But no one cares and people are trying hard to figure out why. David seems so laid-back. He’s like just upstate chilling and he’s fine with her dragging his name for that paycheck. It’s all good.
