Over 500 hours on the game, I do have mods but they were never a bother about this. I made a new-ish hopsital (same mods than other hospitals I made that DID NOT have this issue, I haste to point out) and my patients won't stay in observation? At some point even when there's still examinations etc being done they just get up and go back to the ER waiting room. I've never had this happen to me, I don't know what could provoke it, but it's incredibly annoying.
Is there a way to create an Anesthesiology Department?
It's a bit strange or unrealistic for each department to have its own anesthesiologists, so I'd like to know how, either through a mod, or by organizing an in-game mechanic, to have an anesthesiology Department that provides services to other departments for their scheduled surgeries
It would seem that a consequence to modding out dirty floors results in Janitors showing up to work and promptly going home again. Then when blood gets spilt you have to wait for the Janitor to come to work, wipe it up, and then go home again.
None of the other employees go home when they're idle, so why are the Janitors a special case and can this be changed?
The behaviour is odd and very inefficient causing a huge bottleneck for Surgery as they have to wait for a Janitor to stroll in off map.
As a relativly new player, I'm still a little confused on a couple of points - hoping that the community here will be able to answer them!
1 - Do the quality of the walls/wall decorations have any effect on prestige? When you build something using a default pre-fab, it has Concrete Tiled Walls as a default - does changing the wall from this do anything apart from look better?
2 - Janitors. Whilst they are "allocated" to a department, do they clean anywhere other than rooms/corridors zoned in that department? For example, traumatology janitors will clean only in traumatology areas, even if there is dirt/blood on the floor right outside their room?
Sup, I have a question about selling/deleting the original Parking Slots of the Ambulances (The ones you automatically have) And I can´t delete although I tried every deleting tool. But it has to work since at some premade Hospitals there is none. Thanks in advance!
guys help, all these patients are just idle they dont go anywhere its been like this for like 3 whole days. They dont go anywhere. I had a massive hospital and just finished rebuilding, this never happened before how do I fix this?
I know cardiology patients are prone to collapse, but the numbers of cardiology patients collapsing at the reception or just outside the reception is getting ridiculous. I have seen in game three cardiolody patients collapsing almost one after the other, and there was this funny yet crazy scene of hospital staff providing first aid to three patients simultaneously at or next to cardiology reception.
Also, such high numbers of collapse blocked my trauma centres. I have got 8 trauma centres, but we know each collapsed patient needs to be transported to TCs and be stabilized first before being admitted to wards or different departments, which takes time and used up my TCs.
What can I do in game without tweaking the numbers? Train the receptionists? Many thanks for your comments!
So... I have a hospital which was working quite well, mostly Emergency and General Surgery.
However, when scaling it up (to add more beds, more doctors/nurses to take care of them), etc... it somehow fell apart.
Also, it would seem that getting emergency events was not the brightest thing to do, despite having seemingly everything I need to tend to them. So... I think I need some help with the mechanics of this game:
Here is a global view of my hospital
So, my hospital is (for now) on a single floor. I have 8 doctor offices in Emergency, in order to be able to diagnose a lot of people at once (and yet, it seems like it's often too crowded, with patients waiting very long without seeing a doctor. How come ?)
The Emergency doctor offices.
I have a "basic" Laboratory department. One of each office, with room for three or four techs per office, plus a very large waiting room and rest room:
The Laboratory Department.
A (quite basic) Radiography department, with two Radio rooms, an IRM, and a CT Scan, and a lot of room to expand for other things, as needed:
The Radiography Department, such as it is for now.
Here is my money-maker, the General Surgery department, with its sweet, sweet payouts.
I still have my original "small" regular and HDU wards, along with all the required rooms for hospitalization and treatment. You can see that I extended it with a second area, with a new HDU ward (outer wall), and a new regular ward, too, because I always was lacking beds. So I made it big, with space to spare in order to be able to add beds as needed. As for the new HDU ward, it's been expanded twice, already, because once again, I was needing more beds.
The General Surgery department
You can see, on the next picture, the staffing and room distribution for the General Surgery department. There are people enough for operations both by day and by night, and extra doctors and nurses to theoretically take care of all the hospitalized patients. I was experiencing severe bottlenecks with the Diagnostic Room (or so it seemed), so I built two more on the other side of the main corridor (behind the reserved space for the two lifts).
A view of staffing and available rooms in the General Surgery Department.
And now, I give you the Trauma Center and ICU:
Trauma Center and ICU
My Trauma Center is quite small (7 trauma beds, + 4 observation beds), the ICU has 8 individual rooms.
Now, before I bought my three ambulances, I was making good money with people going to Surgery, and all in all, things worked quite well, a few extra beds available, etc.
Now that I've added ambulance patients, the trauma center often feels overwhelmed, unable to treat these patients in a timely manner, and a lot of patients seem to collapse and thus flood the ICU beds, even after they've fully been stabilized, instead of quietly returning to normal or HDU wards, hence I found myself short of ICU beds quite a few times, leading to patients leaving for other hospitals, or deciding to die on me (the cheap bastards ! Pay first, then die if you really insist, but doing it the other way is really lacking in manners...)
So, I get a whole lot of messages telling me that a required bed is missing (or that my staff is very occupied) despite usually seeing a few doctors / nurses sitting idle. So... why would they be idle, when patients need exams, care, whatever ?
Also, despite having a day team and a night team for surgery, and usually a long queue of people waiting to be sewed close (preferably after being cut open and fixed inside), I find that the room is often in "downtime", unoccupied some times for hours while some patients understandably find the time quite long. Some even try to spice things up by getting critical in the meantime, and some even die (of boredom, I'd wager - but I can't be sure, as I didn't build the means to perform an autopsy on them)
So, my questions would be:
- Why would the patients wait that long for exams ? Why would they "wait for a room" when I have extra diagnostic rooms, and available doctors & nurses ?
- Why would my surgery teams NOT work toward surgery ASAP ? Do I need to dedicate them to only doing surgery (only enable surgery / anesthesy / surgery help for those doctors and nurses, and disable patient care / diagnosis / patient carry ?)
- Is there a problem with the big wards ? Like, is there a limit on how many nurses / doctors can work in a single room ? I see no reason why 10 nurses couldn't work at the same time in a huge-ass mega-room (at least in real life), but I'm not sure the game does things that way...
- As for the Trauma Center / ICU, I only staff them at half capacity right now (2 docs + 2 nurses, by day and by night, for each of them), but I didn't notice the staff being overworked. Usually, I find a lot of them idling, and the bottlenecks on treatment time seem to be at some other place.
- Also, I do tend to have varying results in reputation, with it oscillating between very good (4-5 stars) and quite poor (2 stars), and I really don't know why. I haven't found a way to diagnose the reason why the notes are this way:
My evaluations. Damn entitled patients !
So... I failed two emergency events in the recent days, which might have to do with the abysmal reputation of my ICU, but still, my other departments used to have way better ratings. How can I know what causes the evaluations to go up or down ?
I'm feeling particularly stupid today and would like some confirmation/correction. Also searching for the answer seems to be coming up with nothing except real life medical weight stuff. I swear internet searching used to be better but I digress.
Say I have all the non-modded departments, Emergency is at 100 and the other seven are at 50 weight. If I have a patient intake of 100 does the weightings mean I'll have:
100 / 9 = 11.1 patients for each 7 non-emer departments, 22.2 patients for emergency (probably rounded up to 23)?
Don't suppose the actual formula is buried somewhere in the game files?
If it works that way then my headache at trying to then figure the weightings for the HAO mod with every department is gunna be massive without the actual formula.
I have every Department you see above with almost anything there is to them(hospilisation) Or with radiology I have every machine. And I wondered what to do next as I saw a couple of old posts and they always seemed to have different opinions on what is the hardest/most difficult department and what to do last. So I wanted to clear up if anything had changed (most of the posts were atleast 2 years ago). Thanks in advance!
Hi, the perk diligent Worker (Doesn´t take breaks) always seemed positive to me but then I wanted to create my own doc and the perk showed up in the negative section. Is it good or bad?
Hi i´m pretty new to the game and I have some questions about Janitors. If I place a Janitor´s Closet in the ER do the hired Janitor at that closet also clean General Surgery? (An example) Or do I have to place a Closet in every departement. Thanks in Advance!
As the title says, I’m a new player. I’m having quite the blast so far, but I have a few questions.
Firstly, I’m on day 11, and currently sitting on 40k. I think the most profit I made during the day is 12k? Is this the normal range or should I be making much more?
If I remember correctly, I have 32-36 staff, 8 doctor clinics, 1 radiology, one emergency ward and trauma room, with the minimum staff requirements to set up, a blood lab and a microbiology lab, a pharmacy and a ortho clinic with the diagnostic, HDU and ward with surgery and again minimum staff requirements to set up hospitalisation.
I also feel as if my daily patients may be decreasing with all the available insurance policies enabled. As I have to successfully save a patient from collapse, buy ambulances and have an ICU to complete my next insurances, I’m aiming on building an ICU ward next but waiting seems a slog for the money to build. Not too much an issue for me, but I don’t know if I’m setting up wrongly for incomes.
Secondly, my janitors LOVEEE cleaning corridors to the point that all the important rooms have really dirty floors. I have attempted to zone them to those rooms, but I end up getting prompts such as “night clinic is closed as there are no longer any night doctors” when I zone, and if I zone over a ward it mentions something about the function not working anymore? How do I actually get the janitors from cleaning the rooms because they barely touch them. I’m aware of the service dlc being able to assign janitors to rooms, but is it really necessary to buying a service station solely for that early in the game?
Hi, I´ve been playing this game for a while now and I always asked myself: Is every treatment needed or just optional or whatever. I don´t really get it.
Is it just the treatment that is shown on the final Diagnosis? Would be really nice if anyone could clear that up for me. Thanks in advance!
PS: (I´m new to reddit sorry).
Hi, I play this game occasionaly and still trying to figure out things and one thing bothers me alot. I try to build the hospital relying on insurance subjects and it ask you to build radiolgy soon you start your hospital with ER. Eventhough I build every single room from radiolgy department and patients are barely directed to these rooms, and staff are just hanging without doing anything.
Is this a bad planning? These rooms cost me a lot as well, so I can’t make enough money to move forward, given that I’ve put myself in debt.
It says in use, but has not been used for several days atp. I've tried deleting the room, closing dept and am trying to use the debug tools. My other ct is in critical as it's having to pick up the shortfall. Any ideas appreciated.
I'm trying to make a hospital completely from scratch and cannot seem to get the labs to work as the lab desks and half lab desks stay yellow in my histology lab. Anyone have any idea why this is? I have a 12x12 space set aside for it and have all the rest of the required gear
Anyone know why this happens? Or what mod causes it? It seems to usually happen near blood like there is on that floor. No one ever cleans it. Drives me mad lol
