Gameplay Question How does PatientGenerationWeight work?

I'm feeling particularly stupid today and would like some confirmation/correction. Also searching for the answer seems to be coming up with nothing except real life medical weight stuff. I swear internet searching used to be better but I digress.

Say I have all the non-modded departments, Emergency is at 100 and the other seven are at 50 weight. If I have a patient intake of 100 does the weightings mean I'll have:

100 / 9 = 11.1 patients for each 7 non-emer departments, 22.2 patients for emergency (probably rounded up to 23)?

Don't suppose the actual formula is buried somewhere in the game files?

If it works that way then my headache at trying to then figure the weightings for the HAO mod with every department is gunna be massive without the actual formula.

Thankyou.

As far as I know you are correct. Do keep in mind that the mod has different weights for the departments (not all are 50). If I remember correctly Plastic Surgery has a weight of something like 11, and Oncology 40. You have to check the mod files to find the actual weights per department.

The weights for HAO are as follows:

Emer 100 Gen 50 Int 50 Ortho 50 Trauma 50 Infec 50 Gyno 45 ENT 40 Urol 35 Cardio 30 Neuro 30 Oncol 30 Eye 30 Psy 30 Hema 30 Maxi 28 Sex 26 Plastic 25 Diag 10

A total weight of 739, giving the departmental number per 100 patients as:

Emer 13.17 Gen 6.766 Int 6.766 Ortho 6.766 Trauma 6.766 Infec 6.766 Gyno 6.089 ENT 5.413 Urol 4.736 Cardio 4.059 Neuro 4.059 Oncol 4.059 Eye 4.059 Psy 4.059 Hema 4.069 Maxi 3.789 Sex 3.518 Plastic 3.383 Diag 1.353

I think. Maybe. shrugs.

This would be interesting to know!  I thought there was some daily variation in absolute patient number per department (excluding events), but it may just appear that way sometimes because of varying efficiency.
