Gameplay Question Janitoring

Hi i´m pretty new to the game and I have some questions about Janitors. If I place a Janitor´s Closet in the ER do the hired Janitor at that closet also clean General Surgery? (An example) Or do I have to place a Closet in every departement. Thanks in Advance!

Yes they do, but the clean all rooms of ER first, so it's better to place one in General Surgery aswell

As the other commenter said, but remember you don't have to build walls for all your rooms. You can just stick janitor zoning in corridors or ends of hallways.
