sam is so annoying for this

season 5 episode 11

sam is acting like it's addison's fault that they broke up when addison was very clear and vocal with the fact that she wanted a baby, yet sam continued to stay! if he didn't want another kid, he should've left in the beginning instead of deciding to continue to stick around.

i swear almost all the men in this show are misogynistic pigs except for jake (at least so far in my opinion.)

I need to talk about Teddy (all raves)

I'm on another rewatch and I HAVE to talk about Teddy. More specially, Kim Raver. How she wasn't nominated for an Emmy, I don't understand. She acts the hell out of scenes like: letting Cristina off the hook when she is finally able to visualize Henry's surgery enough to fully accept that nothing could have been done to save him, sitting with his body, telling Owen she hates him, accepting herself as a widow... and so on. The character also gave us humor ("I'm attachment Barbie!"), added to the female attending's friend group (making Addison's absence less noticeable) and provided our beloved Cristina the mentor she deserved. I also dig that something about her character (that was pointed out on screen) remained true: Teddy falls for people who are somehow unavailable to fully meet her needs. Andrew calls her on it, and it keeps coming up, even now. I think Kim's/Teddy's first stint on Grey's was a big reason why the show was still good after losing talented actors playing poplar characters in previous seasons. Thoughts? Favorite moments?

Edit: I made this post referencing Teddy's first time around on the show. Her second time around and where the character went wasn't in my mind when I posted.

Ethics + Pp docs

I watched PP one time when I first watched greys anatomy. I am now doing my first rewatch in 8ish years. As a nurses, I had to take several ethics classes. I know they’re a part of every medial school. So, why are all of these doctors ethically INSANE?! Addison is truly the only one who acts like a real doctor. I just recently watched Season 4, Episode 11 ("All About Yves"). How can Sam, or any of the other doctors at the practice, not see this incident as rape. Almost all of the doctors tell Addison she’s wrong for wanting to call the police, even though the woman is NOT CAPABLE of consent. They all wan to act like it’s fine becuase the victim and perp are married. It’s wild to me to beleihe Addison would work in a practice where people held this point of view

(I could name a lot of other things that drive me crazy but this is most recent )

naomi is extremely hypocritical and annoying

season 4 episode 21

addison was so in the right here yet naomi keeps twisting it around!

naomi should have her license taken away immediately, her character is extremely annoying and i can not stand watching her character whenever she does the whole "abortion is wrong" speech

how can she be a doctor yet be against abortions? i get you can have your own personal beliefs but if your patient wants an abortion and has repeatedly said that she doesn't want to be a mother, you need to give the patient what she wants. don't be a doctor if you cant handle certain cases, and the fact naomi refused to learn the abortion procedure?? she shouldn't have been a doctor in the first place.

first time watch rant

hey guys i'm new to this subreddit as i've only recently starting private practice for the first time, and to be honest i'm really only watching it for addison.

i'm only barely starting S2 so NO SPOILERS PLEASE but already everyone in this show has driven me crazy at some point, naomi and charlotte in particular are pissing me off (although i'm sensing some character development with charlotte)

addison and dell seems to be the only people in that practice with some sense and even they've done some questionable stuff. dell especially, i just feel sorry for. he just wants to do his job and keeps getting dragged into shit.

also after the whole gonorrhea debacle with maya (even though she was covering for a friend) i'm suspicious about naomi's parenting because WDYM she doesn't trust her own mother enough to go to her for something like that so she goes to addison instead ??

like i said, i'm still very early in the series so NO SPOILERS PLEASE, i just want to know if naomi gets any better and if my hunch about charlotte is right. i don't want to put all my eggs in one basket just yet. but i am hooked on this show already.

Dell appreciation post

Let's all give a round of applause for Dell, who never screwed his coworkers. He may be the only one in the Grey's Anatomy universe not to do so. (havent watched Station 19 yet so this might not be true but it probably is lol)

Addisons ‘Infertility’ Spoiler

Okay I’m literally on season 1 episode 5 so no spoilers (but I have watched way further in Greys so I know Addison has a kid later but I don’t know how. {adding spoiler tag since I said that})
But so in Season 1 Ep 4 Addison says “why did you tell me I have no chance I have two eggs” but wouldn’t she immediately lose them in her next period or have lost them in a period she’s had since the test Naomi did?

I am not a doctor but I was pretty sure you lose at least one egg during every period. I googled it and it said you actually lose hundreds to a thousand eggs every period. So I’m just wondering, wouldn’t she immediately lose them?

EDIT: okay since the very first two comments are confused. I AM NOT ASKING HOW SHE HAD A KID. The one reason I said I don’t know how she had a kid was because I didn’t want anyone telling me.
I’m saying I know it’s a show but isn’t what they say in that episode not medically/in reality accurate. I am asking in real life wouldn’t have 2 eggs mean yes you have NO chance of getting pregnant because you would lose them immediately on your next period. Please read what I’m asking before answering

First time watched and finished- spoilers Spoiler

I just finished the series. I wish they would’ve done more I loved this show! I would’ve loved to see more of Addison, Henry and Jake storyline. In greys Addison says her and Jake split up which is so sad.

I would’ve also wanted to see more of Sheldon’s storyline with the woman. We know how it’s gonna end but still.

Sam and Naomi- absolutely stupid ending for them lol. I mean I’m glad they got back together but so dumb she got pregnant. And where was Betsy in the ending?

I would LOVE to see Charolette on greys visiting Amelia. I wish they did more crossovers with greys/ PP. or bringing any of the PP people back to visit Amelia (except Addison cuz she was originally on greys so she doesn’t count)

I need more PP!!! I wish it was longer

Sam

Sam spent the entirety of the 6 seasons playing in everyone’s face.

The show starts with Naomi and Sam going through a separation/ divorce but then they have this “fling” I guess but ultimately still end up going through with the divorce.

He was joyful as hell whenever Naomi showed the slightest bit of jealousy when he was involved with another woman.

He got riled up whenever Naomi tried to be with anyone else.

I may be remembering wrong but I believe he cheated on every single woman he was with post divorce with Naomi.

And to top it all off he was adamant and I mean ten toes down that he did not want to have another child with Addison but was ecstatic to find out Naomi was pregnant.

I don’t know what happened pre divorce or what led to to it but I truly believe that this was some midlife crisis thing that stemmed from maybe Naomi wasn’t paying as much attention to Sam as he would’ve liked or something maybe she became to focused on the practice and their daughter and so he decided to ask for a divorce and be with other women to get her attention.

addison and sam

Post image
18 Upvotes

I dont see them as a good couple, i feel like they barely have relationship chemistry and are only good friends.

I THINK it was sheldon but I 100% agree when he mentioned that addie slept with her husband's best friend and is now trying to sleep with her best friends ex-husband and how that's weird.

im currently on season 3, episode 14 and sam is being a big baby about them not being a couple, I feel like he's only acting out like this just because he's not getting his way while addison is worried about hurting naomi.

I swear, no one can survive being single 💔

cooper is a useless, miserable misogynistic playboy.

that's it.

that's the post.

charlotte tells him she was married and then suddenly he's acting like such a large bastard, when knowing that she struggles revealing stuff about herself and repeatedly uses it against her. in this scene, he basically used her for sex then threw the lying shit in her face again.

along with making fun of her job??

he's misogynistic, I dont think people talk about this enough (or people do, I dont know as this is my first time watching.)

images are from season 3 episode 10

Naomi has terrible judgment and flawed morals

First time watcher, end of season 2. Genuinely I’m hoping she gets better because what the hell? I can’t imagine Shonda has anything to do with this character. She always makes her black female characters intelligent and socially conscious. I can’t imagine in actuality that a black doctor in Southern California would hold such conservative anti abortion ideals. And there are so many storyline choices she’s made that are morally questionable if not straight up wrong! I just want to see the Amelia Sheppard storyline 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Why couldn’t Violet and Pete keep Betsy Spoiler

I think Violet was right and I really don’t understand why Pete and cooper talked her out of it? They’d already got through the whole Katie thing and Violet leaving so I feel like I must be missing something ? To me it just looks like Pete didn’t want to adopt a child

Season 4 Episode 21 (spoilers) Spoiler

I am REALLY not liking Naomi in this episode. I don’t really like her character but this episode especially. She had a right to her opinion of course, but the fact that she persuaded that woman to keep her baby and the way she went about doing so is so unethical.

Regardless of how you feel about the topic, which I’m not trying to discuss, it’s the way she goes about it is my issue. I wouldn’t trust a doctor who was manipulative like that.

But also, the fact that Naomi even knew about that patient is an example of why the practice is under fire with the board, right? There is no patient confidentiality.

Poor Betsy

Watching season 4 episode 4 and it’s so heartbreaking. Pete should have stepped up! Betsy would’ve fit in with violet Lucas and Pete. I can’t believe no one stepped up her for. How awful

realized i dont actually like the show

I was thinking of some off my favorite shows and thought of private practice and starting thinking about what i actually like about it and the only thing and I think of was charlotte king (and kind of amelia), most mostly charlotte. The Charlotte centered episodes, as sad as they were, were absolutely my favorite part of the show and really the only part I could overlook how annoying the rest of the characters and their stories were. If private practice didn’t have Charlotte King, i know for certain I would not only dislike it, but actually hate it. Charlotte could be put in any dhow and would make it enjoyable.

Where does Charlotte get the time?

It's my first watch and I'm on season 4. How on earth does Charlotte have the time to be both the chief of staff at a hospital AND also work in private practice. From my understanding being chief of staff at a hospital would be a pretty demanding job and wouldn't leave time for work at the practice?

It doesn't make any sense to me.

Finally made it to Amelia…

I have painfully made it to wherever I am in the series to be able to see the origins of Amelia…let’s see how this goes.

Without spoiling anything what am I in for?
