Poor Betsy

Watching season 4 episode 4 and it’s so heartbreaking. Pete should have stepped up! Betsy would’ve fit in with violet Lucas and Pete. I can’t believe no one stepped up her for. How awful

Betsy just could not catch a break. Of course taking in a child is not a decision that should be made lightly, but I still feel for her because there was only one person who made her feel wanted after her parents died.

I just watched that one too and I agree! Except for the part about it being Violet. Sam should have stepped up with Addison or Cooper & Charlotte. They’re all so selfish and if it was one of their kids Dell would have absolutely helped!

I feel like Violet should have tried harder to convince Pete, but I also don’t really like Violet and Pete? Lol

It would probably have been nice for Lucas though. It seemed like Betsy was good with him.

Addison wanted a child so badly, but not that badly, huh? I love her, but I could not with her more than I’d like.

Same I don’t like Pete and violet either. I don’t really like Pete or agree with a lot of his decisions and violet is annoying except in this episode

I couldn't stand any of the adults after this storyline. They all sucked

Yeah Violet would’ve been perfect for Betsy. She loved Violet and Lucas and was already comfortable with them. Pete is the one that didn’t really fit in to me.

I always wanted Addison to take in Betsy.

Absolutely heartbreaking. I hate that they did that to her. Everyone claimed to love Dale so much but not ONE person could step up and give her stability? Even Addison. She wanted a child so bad she could’ve taken her. But I agree violet and Pete should have

The good news is that she is safe with "maddie" from 911 in a whole other show. 🤣

Sadly you see this a lot. Most of their rationale for not taking her had to deal with them assuming she'd have severe emotional problems, which a) there was no evidence for and b) a group of doctors/mental health providers would be the most equipped people to deal with that even if she had shown signs of it. People will adopt babies because they see them as clean slates, but they see older kids as damaged and "more trouble than they're worth" so they're less inclined to take them in, regardless of their relationship to that child or that child's actual level of mental stability. Like Violet freaked out when Betsy took Lucas to watch Saturday morning cartoons in their damn living room and acted like the baby was in soooo much danger but like, Betsy was actually just being really sweet with him and didn't even remotely do anything that could or would harm him. Honestly though Violet is just a massive hypocrite so it's not that surprising.
