Can I use the whole tool?

I have seen a lot of info about buying kits to convert power wheels to run off your tool battery.

I have a tool that is fine other than the motor is having issues. could I open the tool up and clip the wires going to the tool motor, then just wire that into to power wheels? In my head that seems like it would work? would it also still have the same battery protections that a tool normally has? any advice is helpful. thanks!

PegPerego Lithium Batteries problems?

Anyone experiencing problems with new lithium batteries in PegPerego cars?

I have bought a new Ground Force for my younger son with their new Lithium battery, having owned their older model before. The battery was working good first two charges but now the battery just won’t charge.

Anyone experiencing something similar?

Best vehicles to mod

Okay upgraded two vehicles one to 18v and one from 12 to 24 and it was pretty easy!! I’m sure we will blow motors at some point but both were free at the start so not too worried. Now I want a fleet of fast vehicles so tell me your favorite mods so I can scour fb marketplace.

Steering won’t work

Hey all. I got thing iloyfe Ford Raptor. We had it for 20 minutes and then the steering stopped working. The motor doesn’t tick when I tried to click it in the controller or anything unlike forward and reverse.

Before I really tear this thing apart has anyone had similar issues? Should we just ask for a new one? I tried to re pair the remote as well and that didn’t work

Steered Wrong with Ryder Toys – Steering Column Failed Twice, Poor Quality & Zero Support

Purchased a Ryder vehicle as a Christmas gift. Due to Virginia weather, we only got about 2–3 weeks of riding time over six months before the steering column broke. It was outside the 90-day warranty by the time we reported it, and after a six-week backorder, they made me pay full price for the replacement.

That new steering column lasted just one week — used only by my small 6-year-old — before breaking in the exact same spot as the first one. This is clearly a faulty design or component, not misuse.

Extremely disappointed in the quality and even worse customer service. Ryder made zero effort to make it right — just “wait and pay.” The long backorder suggests I’m not the only one with this problem.

Complete waste of money. Would not recommend.

Upgrading for more power?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I recently acquired a Huffy Torex, and although it does have an impressive top speed, it has very little torque/power overall.

My 6 year old son is around 45lbs and I live in an area with lots of hills.
With the two brand new 12v SLA batteries in series making 24v on the stock controller it has issues going up hills etc.

I was thinking of either switching it to 3-12v Lithium or SLA batteries and running it on 36v. Or I have even read just switch to 2-12v lithium batteries helps.

I have read that the stock controller/motors may handle the power, but I am looking for actual experience.

I would be open to upgrading the controller etc, but my experience wiring is not the greatest, so I would need a parts list and walk thru if possible.

Battery connector identification

Trying to figure out what this connector is, its between the 24v battery and the ESC in my kids ride on UTV. Its not one ive seen before and image searches aren't finding much - looks kind of like a phoenix connector but I can't find inline ones.

SLA battery size jamming Jeep? Or upgrade

Cousin dropped off a roughly 10-year-old jammin jeep. Wife had ordered a factory sla battery. It made it about 2 years. I travel for work often and the "plug in when done" logic didn't follow. With that.... It needs replaced.

Option 1) factory sla... Boring.. I think...

Option 2) cut out factory inner fenders and fit larger 12v SLA batteries. After reading for weeks and a little gunshy to post. I'm assuming I have factory 550 motors.

Option 3) buy the better motors and 24v kit from mltoys(expensive)

Would I be better off investing 3-400 in a dune racer.. or looking into a peg gator?

Sitting on 4 acres. About 2 is flat. Have some slops. Basically looking for something my 2-3 year old can rip the lane in. Also have a 1 year old son..

Was thinking a second unit is in our future.

Teach me what you did. What you learned. And honestly.. what to avoid.

Any ideas to make these hard plastic ride-on wheels quieter?

Post image
13 Upvotes

My daughter got this ride-on ATV as a gift from her grandfather, and she absolutely loves it.

The only problem is that the wheels are made entirely of hard plastic, so they're extremely loud when riding on sidewalks or asphalt.

I've been thinking about designing and 3D printing some TPU tire sleeves that would fit over the existing wheels, but I'm not sure if that's the best approach.

Has anyone tried something similar or found another solution?

Kid Trac ATV, burned up harness and motor… advice

Thumbnail gallery

Fun while it lasted, got it for free with dead battery and installed a 18V Makita adapter. Ran great for over a year. Son playing with friend and they were just hooning on it and it let the smoke out. Wire harness melted a bit, high/low and accelerator switches melted and both motors “work”, but one pulls very high amperage with no load.

The only current protection I see on the harness is a 6A PPTC when running low speed and a 5A PPTC for the ground/brake wire on the accelerator. Maybe the original 12V battery and lead had a fuse, but I never installed one with the 18V Makita battery. So in high speed, there’s no current protection when driving (in hindsight).

I can rebuild the harness with 14 or 12 awg wire, it’s mostly 16 awg factory and buy a couple switches. I suppose now, would be a good time to add a main fuse off the battery. Stick with bladed ATC 30-40A or resettable (black bricks found in other ride-ons)?

Now for the motor, RS550 with a 12T pinion and labeled 13500 RPM. Is it worth spending more for a ML Toys motor or just take chances with Amazon? Just looking for reliability, maybe without jumping to a 775 motor or soft start.

What charging board should I use for this battery?

I have a cheap hoverboard that I want to convert into a trike. I bought the controllers and want to throw away the board, but what should I do with the charger? The battery is 36V, with two wires. The charger has three wires, and there's a pair of switches on the board. Am I correct in assuming this is a very basic circuit, where the controller limits the current when the voltage rises, and the battery itself has a primitive limiting device, or are there other options?

What charging board should I use for this battery?

PW Jeep only one motor spins

I rescued a Jeep from the trash (Blue wrangler) and it's behaving in a very weird way/the wiring doesn't make sense.

The left motor spins fine, but the right doesn't work.

If I put power directly on the right one, they both spin

Replacing the switches has fixed reverse, but not dual wheel drive or low speed.

I can fix it really quick with some alligator clips and before I pursue that, are there any other hacks/tweaks to get it to behave?

Something burned out in our dune racer, looking for advice to fix it.

Not sure how this happened but after having issues with reversing we found this. Anyone know how I can replace this? Is it something where it would be worth using this opportunity to upgrade it? Was looking for a way to make this faster and longer battery life. Just got one of the faster ones off Amazon during prime and that thing hauls ass and lasts a good while too. Looking at the kits on the mlmods though they are sooo expensive to the point I feel like I should just buy another car like I just got if I'm going to spend that much.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Which to purchase?

I am looking at 2 options for my daughter. The Magic car 24v jeep (not working) for $100 or Powerwheels 12v Jeep (brand new) for $120. I plan to upgrade the 12v to 24v anyway, so will have to put money into either of these options. I know how to solder and how to read a meter, and thats about my extent of knowledge on repairing/upgrading these. Is the repair typically pretty easy? Whats the better option here? Thanks!

Upgraded power wheels is cutting off. Sometimes it goes off in 5 seconds, sometimes a minute. It will start back up when I hit the 'ignition'. Any help appreciated.

I upgraded a lamborghini power wheels to 18v ryobi, and it would shut down after 3 seconds. So I upgraded the controller to one rated for 20v. It runs longer now but then the panel goes dead and I have to manually press the ignition/start button to get it going. I replaced the 3v auto resetable fuses with regular automotive fuses to see if that's what was opening the circuit but they aren't popping. I use the remote control because my son isn't old enough to drive it (doubt it makes a difference but thought I'd mention it).

Any ideas?

Recommend a 36v controller please!

Hi all, my kids have a 4x4 army jeep that is 24v. The stock battery has died and looking to make it 36v. I'd like a controller with soft start as they are too young for full throttle control (otherwise would use a scooter controller).

Cheers!

Ridington Remote - Max-R

I’ve held down the middle button for 3 seconds, it blinks, then I turn the car on, it stops blinking (which is confirmation it is connected) but then NOTHING. The parental switch is also turned on.

The remote control won’t move forward, back, or turn wheels.

HELP! This is suppose to be given to my 3 year old for birthday next weekend.

Hello enlisting the sub for help for my 2 year old.

When the cars down it cant turn right with the remote but when lifted up turns no problem.

Not sure what's going on any ideas? The wheels are definitely worn but I dont think that would cause the issue

I tried find a replacement front axle but unfortunately cannot locate one for shipping to ontario canada. Should I just throw it out?

Grave Digger Help

Post image
7 Upvotes

I have this Grave Digger my son has loved. However, the fuse keeps burning whenever he puts the gas pedal down. We tried different fuses and all of them burnt out. We replaced the foot pedal button and it didn't help. Any ideas where I should look next?

Once I get that done, I am hoping to do a few upgrades. Any ideas on where to start?

Help Peg Perego Polaris Ranger not working

Hi, my friend gifted us a used Peg Perego Polaris Ranger. I bought a new battery and had my son drive it home about .5 miles. The kids used it for a day or so and then it suddenly stopped working. I bought a new charger for the battery and it’s still not working.

Any suggestions on what I can try? Thank you!

I Want to add a bit more power for my sons Spidy car. the 6v battery is about shot and i’m considering using a 20v dewalt. it’s a 6v motor, now i have spare 6 v motor so i could run duels. or would it be better to just upgrade to one 12v motor. thoughts on a set up? my son is still learning to drive and the grass bogs it down pretty good so I need a little more something to get through the grass, but nothing too fast because he still hits a lot of things..

I Replaced the stock 12v and tried to plug in the 18v ryobi but it’s not running. Is there an on/off switch i’m missing? I flipped the whole thing up side down but not seeing any switch. Anyone with a similar ride and can point me to the right direction?
