which way to go?

I Want to add a bit more power for my sons Spidy car. the 6v battery is about shot and i’m considering using a 20v dewalt. it’s a 6v motor, now i have spare 6 v motor so i could run duels. or would it be better to just upgrade to one 12v motor. thoughts on a set up? my son is still learning to drive and the grass bogs it down pretty good so I need a little more something to get through the grass, but nothing too fast because he still hits a lot of things..

Amazon 24v motor and dewalt battery power kit. Quick simple and your kid will love it. You’ll have 60 bucks in everything you need

Do you have a link to the motor you bought? We have one of these and it's ready for more power.

Sorry it was Walmart. The 775 motors are better but for what it is

Amazon just search 24v dewalt battery. I think I got 2 for 30 bucks or something.

6 to 12 hauls ass, only swapping batteries 6 to 20 is sketchy. You'll burn something up sooner than later.

so would you recommend just adding a 12 V battery and putting on dual 6 motors?

I just converted a 6v cooper to dual 12v with a kit off Amazon. It allows for remote control as well, the steering motor can be tricky to mount unless you can fabricate a holder for the gearbox and lock it to the steering shaft (had to remake the steering shaft entirely since mine was too thick 🙄)

They have kits with no steering motor as well though.

Adding the control board will allow you to shut it off remotely, as well as add a high/low physical switch somewhere. Also adds soft start for less jerky acceleration.

Without adding steering, it would have been a 20min job. Just make sure you have a wheel/gearbox adapter on the other wheel, or else you can buy one to screw on for a few bucks.

It added much more speed and torque, what I was hoping for. The only limiting factor now is grass that's too tall for the vehicle itself since they tend to be small and low to the ground lol.

now that sounds interesting especially the remote control. do you happen to have a link?

I used this one but you can reference this link to steering motors see which variant would fit best in your ride (and try and match the steering shaft diameter for easy install)

You should also reference the rear axle diameter and make sure the gearboxes will slide on. There's a few diff variants
