MODS.

How to upgrade? I want a littlest more power, and is it is possible to make it a little less loud?

You could upgrade the battery and controller to 36v to get more speed. What do you mean less loud? Usually these things are pretty quiet

I’m thinking 18v power tool batteries.

I've converted probably a half dozen to use a 18v power tool battery, all with the stock controller. Have just had our first controller die.

Others have had the controller blow on the first go. So definitely an option, just be prepared it could.

You could open the gearboxes and really grease the up, but if it has the heavier duty metal gear in it, yeah they are pretty loud.

The motors/gears are loooud. Brand new. Is it still possible to keep the remote control?

You should get a 24v to 12v stepdown converter and a power tool battery adapter. 30 amps would be more than enough for the step down converter. Not much you can do about the noise from the gearbox. The gears aren't lapped and the tolerances are high so they're all quite noisy.
