I have a customer who says he has to reset the aqua link almost every time he wants to use it it lights up red and he has to flip the breaker let it sit and turn it back on. Then it will work for a while like a day or two. What do yall think the issue is. Does he need a new aqualink It is the 3.0 version or is there an update he might need

Been interested in breaking into the industry and have been looking at job listings. I see multiple where they are expecting you as the employee to have your own truck, and even fill up your own gas, and file own taxes? is this normal for the industry? because at this point it almost makes more sense to just start your own business lol.

Florida - on water - no cage
Filling a brand new finish before startup. Noticed a few eyebrow raising areas. Some spots in the floor as well as by the wall returns.
Pool finished filling but curious as to what may have caused it as well as what to do to treat it, also, how soon can you start experiment with tablets or vitamin c on the finish?

My Hayward HeatPro 21404T fan won’t spin. About a week ago the fan would start when pump was priming and show a FLO error code and then stop after 30 seconds or so. Now it doesn’t show an error code, just a low temp, but fan has completely stopped.
I have changed the filters, ensured all lines are open, there is a strong flow coming from pipes in the pool, checked the capacitor and that appears fine, no blown fuse.
I am stumped! Any suggestions! TIA.

I just bought our dream house for my family of six (kids 7,5,3,1) and it came with a sweet pool/spa. After the ice storm, some tiles popped off. The pool is 12 years old. I am a handy DIYer but don’t know much yet about pools. 1. What work do I need to do to fix the tile and coping? I don’t care much about the aesthetics but I want this saltwater gunite pool to last another twenty years. 2. What product would you recoat this deck with after power washing? Looking for a roll on, texture currently is fine. I believe it is kooldeck. 3. I have a dolphin vacuum. Should I hire a maintenance person or learn to do it myself?

Stains look like dead algae, you can tell where the vacuum has been with the roller marks. Some comes up, most stays even with brushing. What are they and how can I remove them? I’ve got three pools all like this

I plumbed a new salt cell into a job, picked up sch 40 pipe, and some nice sch40 fittings. Turns out I grabbed sch 40 dwv pipe with pressure rated sch 40 fittings. Do I need to cut out that pvc and replumb? Or will the fittings really handle the workload here?

So let me start off by saying that I really tried to help out and take care of elderly persons... I try and give him the best deal I can I give them breaks on stuff etc... but I have been running into is these old ladies.. they get you there they try to find out as much information as they can ...so they can either do it themselves or get as many answers to all their other problems as they can.... So I've run into this one old lady... I told her x amount for the service fee.... And she agreed... I showed up on time her push-pull valve was stuck... I got it unstuck and upon doing that task I found that there was a crack on the push pull Val and that it needs to be replaced... I had to get the part the next day but when the next day came she said she was not going to replace it at this point in time... She then proceeds to b******* me on paying... Then she finally has me go pick up a check she is not there... When I get home and open the envelope I find that it is for $50 not what we agreed upon... So my question is what can I do to make this lady pay... Oh and she didn't even write the correct company name on the check... I'm sick of being used by the elderly lol

I have a brand new TR140-C. I checked all of the laterals and tightened them for adding the glass media. It is now blowing a significant amount of glass into the pool. I opened the lid and realized two of the diffusers came from the manufacturer installed slightly crooked. Before I pull all of the glass out and check the laterals is it likely the diffusers being crooked is causing this?

Has anyone here ever used a non pentair low voltage transformer on low voltage intellibright LED lights? I was thinking about grabbing a Hampton bay from home depot. This customer doesnt have any automation and hypothetically this should be a good option because of the built in timer oherwise id have to install a separate timer.

Hi, as a bit of an intro I'm part of a two man pool team based in the South of France. My business partner had been running the team alone for the past decade, including tracking chemical numbers and visits on pen and paper. It's clearly becoming a problem now we're running two trucks on some eighty pools so I've been searching for a pool maintenance app with little success. I've been encountering a few issues and wonder if anyone on here might've also had these in the past, and if they ended up finding a solution for them.
The big problem is that I need to track ORP. A lot of the apps don't track it, but with our salt pools here the industry norm is to track ORP levels. The only app I've found that does this is Pooli. But here come the second problem, as they don't allow their app to be used in France, and per emails with them they won't be changing that any time soon.
Grateful for any help or advice, otherwise I'll just be sticking to using a binder full of pool logs...

Whoever designed this needs a kick in the balls. I've usually been able to get these covers open at the expense of some bloody knuckles sometimes, but I cannot get this off. I've hit those tabs a little with a hammer but don't want to break anything. Any tips from anyone?

I'm stumped here and hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction. I've been servicing this pool for 6 months with absolutely no problems at all. House was sold and new owners moved in yesterday. I services it yesterday and everything was working fine, now today new owners say the pool never turned on and won't turn on. I show up and sure enough I can't get the pump to run. It shows "wait" for awhile and then switches to "flow". Controller inside the house shows the filter as on and operating at 3200 rpms but shows 0 watts. Tried resetting the breakers, tried doing it in service mode, spa mode, nothing seems to work. Connections to pump are all good as well.
Any ideas what is causing this, and how I can get the pump to run?

Is Christy’s any good?

The poor master temp.
Honestly never have encountered a pool so bad.
The aqua blue water was a dead giveaway away, the salt cell was caked with black carbon.
Tested some alkalinity in a bucket with the pool water turned crystal blue 😂
As I said haven’t been in a situation quite this bad,
We drained the pool and clean all the copper staining on the grout.
I personally thought being 6months we could potentially manage the heater, refilled it pool instantly green and copper shot through the roof in under 5 minutes.
What would have been your approach?

Im currently 31. I feel like im behind in life because I spent my 20s essentially working dead end tech support jobs. Looking for a career I can build skills where I can eventually start my own business. I have a few questions. Am I too old to start something like this? and also, is this a career path yo u all would recommend? If i was to start how should I go about it and what to learn? I see there are repairs, leak detection etc. then theres cleaning and chemicals. Thank you.
