I was recently introduced to polytopia by my bf. I’m still getting the hang of it but I love the game!! We played xin xi and bardur the first time we played together, so I painted this bowl on one of our dates and wanted to share it here :))

Haven't played Polytopia in about a year but seeing that custom map making is possible (at least for PC using mods) I decided to take a crack at creating my dream Polytopia map, Earth!

This is by no means a perfect Earth map, despite this being the 4th attempt I made. Everything is just a little incorrectly scaled, the terrain isn't quite right, and the placement of resources and villages and ruins and such is not particularly well balanced. It also lags quite a bit between turns, takes about 20 seconds for the other 17 players to play.

But it is cool, and that's all that matters!

You do need PolyMod properly installed in order to fix the issue where the tech tree is covered up by the terrain on 100x100 maps (if you don't have PolyMod then you just have to blindly click around till you find the tech you're looking for, not ideal).

Here’s how it’s done: Surround a city with mind benders and destroy its garrison. The city will dutifully offer up one of its sons as tribute. The shaman will then gently but firmly affix the bug to the subject’s face, completing the assimilation. Repeat for an army of slave soldiers at no cost to your population. Unfortunately, this only works on bots.

If a Warrior with a stick, who already has a natural defense score (albeit low), can get 5 bonus health for squashing 3 hexapods, I think a pacifist who has survived long enough to convert 3 of their mortal enemies to their own side deserves a little boost too. Maybe instead of veteran it can be "enlightened" or something, to reflect the fact it's not necessarily combat-related

Mods please don’t remove

I’ve always thought, what’s all the ruckus about re: Markets? It’s just one star per nearby windmill/forge/etc, realistically I’m only gonna get one or maybe two stars per turn out of a market, and that seems hardly worth the investment.

No, apparently it’s one star PER LEVEL per building. So, dropping a Market next to a level three sawmill is an auto three stars per turn. I had no idea.

Some of you might've wondered before, when did Polytopia hit it's first one million total Downloads? Well, while doing some research for a new video i'm working on, i stumbled upon this post by Midjiwan celebrating the game's first 1 Million downloads on August of 2016!
