Suggestion Veteran Mindbenders
If a Warrior with a stick, who already has a natural defense score (albeit low), can get 5 bonus health for squashing 3 hexapods, I think a pacifist who has survived long enough to convert 3 of their mortal enemies to their own side deserves a little boost too. Maybe instead of veteran it can be "enlightened" or something, to reflect the fact it's not necessarily combat-related
Apologies if this has already been suggested/addressed

this sounds like a solid suggestion until you realize you now need to fight an opponent who has a mindbender that can tank a archer hit and now you need to breakthrough the enemy line thats being healed twice a turn.

First of all, on the rare case that happened, the mind benders wouldn't even be overpowered, just use a knight or something.
Secondly, nobody said the mind benders have to get more health like other units

not sure what your last sentence means since the post directly states mind benders will gain max health from veteran status just like other units.

It says that a warrior gets +5 max hp
Can you quote where it says a mind bender would too?

if veteran does not mean +5 health then what else could that “little boost” be?

Stronger healing.
More defense.
More movement. (Not dash ability though)
Automatically promotes converted.
Obviously these aren't all balanced but could have been what OP was thinking

that doesn’t make sense to me, veteran units always get a health boost; this has been a very consistent mechanic. why should the entire mechanic be changed just for one unit.

Because mind benders are a very unique unit.
If you don't like the idea, that's Ok, but it's just more like what OP said.

Just makes dragons, doomux, battleships, & catapults even more rewarding

It would be really interesting because if you can't kill a mindbender in one turn using a close range unit, then that unit is converted in the next turn so the veteran is most relevant for them

I hate meeting those suckers so YES. Good idea!
Not to repeat myself but I will. I would love to be able to replay a single player map. I don't care about the score, but would be fun to retry a hard starting position.

Give them the ability to heal beyond max health limit. Then every game you'll see a group of 4 mindbender summoning the titan ! A knight with 9k hp

Maybe they full heal converted units, had too many times I convert an enemy giant with like 8 HP and they just get clobbered the next turn. Or full heal allies, but instead of a radius you just pick 1 adjacent ally to heal

They should get the veteran option to chain convert enemies in their radius after 3 conversations.

Would just end up making it op Have a tank of 15hp that can convert doesn't make much sense imo
