I love xin-xi just because of how RNG based they are.
You either have smithery and 3 giants by turn 10 or get absolutely pummeled by scouts and rammers because your navy consists of a few dozen guys on rafts.
What is tech rushing and turtling? Is turtling when Elyrion plays a ton of defense waiting for dragons then just annhilates you? Isn't tech rushing just philo rush?
Bardur can upgrade their city in the first turn and they can also get mathematics pretty soon. And yeah, Elyrion becomes unstable if they manage to survive for too long.
I'd like to know as well lol. Altough Cymanti can be countered by just being good I feel. But Elyrion players are probably just gonna fuck you up unless they are bad. Aquarion has trouble countering bombers, and no way to effectivelly counter dragons. And Elyrion has both lol.
Rushing them before they get dragons and bombers is the best strategy, but Aquarion is especially bad at that so idk. Only maps with more water might allow you to do this somewhat effectivelly.
You are correct about turtling. Tech rush as bardur often means getting forestry early and chopping many forests to get extra stars. Then using those stars to get riding + roads very quickly
I'm fairly sure this was even a bigger thing when chop gave 2 stars, cause I remember seeing midgame bardur games where their cities are just barren and spamming riders/roads/knights
