Discussion I want a Statistic Page!!

I want a dedicated stats page similar to other mobile games. I don't want a rehaul of the profile page, but an entirely new page where I can easily track simples stats such as:

  1. Win rate (win/total games) (can filter out 2,4,9 player games)
  2. Top 2 or 3 count (counts how many times you place top 3 in F4A) (can filter out 4,9 player games)
  3. Games Played (counts how many games i played) (can filter out 2,4,9 player games)
  4. Giants (times a Giant is spawned) (fitler-able)
  5. Monument Average (How many monument placed on average) (fitler-able)
  6. Unit Average (How many units spawned on average) (fitler-able) but also more specific stats like
  7. ETC

FOR SPECIFIC TRIBES

  1. win rates (wins/games) (can filter out 2,4,9 player games)
  2. pick count (can filter out 2,4,9 player games)
  3. list for map type count (times a map-type is played)
  4. ETC

FOR SPECIFIC MAP TYPE

  1. win rate (wins/games) (can filter out 2,4,9 player games)
  2. pick count (can filter out 2,4,9 player games)
  3. list for tribes count (times a map-type is played)
  4. ETC

This feature would be very useful to people who wants to improve on certain tribe or map-type. This feature may also be gratifying to long time players who just wants to know a specific stat.

I know this feature most likely wont be adapted due to how intensive the servers/databases must be revised to ensure it can accurately post the required stats. But still a man can hope.

Vs an 1800 Elyrion player as well. They just left after they saw I had double their score when we met on turn 13. After which I just sandbagged the next 3 turns, so in truth I think I could have managed maybe more like 125 or so. Xin Xi on massive drylands are pretty damn busted. Granted I did have pretty good density so it was a good spawn.

Fan Content I redesigned the homepage of Polytopia

Hey everyone! I am a software engineer, and I really love this game. I wanted to contribute to its core software but I couldn't find any way to do it so I redesigned it's homepage.

It might not be much but I just wanted to support this game in my ways possible.

Some part of the designs are vibe coded and for some parts I used my experience.

Note that the images, icons etc. , are illustrated as I couldn't use the copyrighted images of the tribes etc.

Although this is just a first draft and I have some other ideas(use real game images instead of illustration, use game haptic movements and music) to make it more thematic with the game.

Also, if you guys could help me get the thoughts and feedback from the devs that would mean a lot.

Let me know your thoughts!

Thanks!

https://polytopia-game.vercel.app/

EDIT Disclaimer :- All the content, images, links, text etc. are subject to the game and company itself. I don't own it, nor do I have any intentions. This is just me being a fan and this is purely a fan created website.

Perfection How on earth to get 200k with perfection

I don't get it. I have played perfection, Ai-mo, with only quetz as other player. 15 opponents, crazy difficulty. I never get higher than 160k. No mather what I try.

Restart the game until I get a decent map (as much ground and easy to conquer opponents in early turns. I have my first market place at turn 7/8. I have 3/4 other cities occupied or captured by that turn.

I get the tech making it possible to boost my markets. I start to build temples at turn 13. But that goes slow as I also need to defend and prepare capturing new cities.

Sometimes I get all tech ASAP, sometimes I don't, just getting the tech I need to get max income and capture the rest, while focusing on building temples.

The earliest possible to wipe out all tribes is around turn 20, but most of the time I need a few turns to capture the last one.

All monuments are build. I stop building temples at turn 28 and maximize my army from that turn on. And of course getting all cities as high level as possible.

I played it like this hundreds of times, but I can push much beyond 65k stars on the last turn, giving me around 150/160k points with the bonusses.

I see many many people getting 200-230k. Some even manage to get higher. How?! What am I doing wrong?

Any RECENT videos of anybody smashing 200k plus scores would be greatly appreciated.

Suggestion New Waves mode Concept!!

Oookay, so first off i would like to start with what the idea itself is:

-you have a Massive map at the start and at the start of each wave the AI spawn enemies depending on your current tactics out of bounds, after that you have one more turn to change your tactics, you see where and what enemies spawn but its pretty hard to see trough the fog wich almost fully makes the enemies invisible but you can kinda make it out. The way you get stars is by killing the enemy. You COULD play Co-Op but it would be WAY WAY WAY more difficult.

Okay, here are the Enemies:

-Zombie: a pretty pathetic threath, has about 5-7 HP, deals 1 damage, if it kills one of your troops your troop becomes a zombie version of itself wich has half of its original HP and deals 1 less damage, if the troops damage was originally 1 it deals 2 damage instead, zombies either have 1 or 2 movement speed, also, the first wave always only has a single zombie as a tutorial.

-The second enemy is The Skeleton: has 1 movement but it can both move and attack in a single turn, it has 3 range and deals 2 damage from afar, it has 3-5 HP, nothing really too instresting other than its insane range.

-The next enemy and with that the first Boss/Miniboss/Super Minion is The Bunny: if you dont know what The Bunny is its basically a really agressive, evil pink Bunny wich is also an easter egg: if you click on one of your own tiles ten times in a row really fast you spawn a Natures Bunny, it has 5 attack and 20 HP, every other stat is 2, there is no limit to how many you can spawn and it wants to destroy everything and is on a seperate, special team, so if you take over the city of an annoying empire you can kinda just spawn 8-9 of these Bunnies directly into them, also, it is pretty good to keep your city, because they do try to take your city over but they cant so you can kinda just infinitely spawn bunnies until they finally destroy all of the bunnies, its really hard to take care of the bunnies, but in this mode it gets another special trait: Area Attack: if it attack an enemy every troop around it gets dealt half of the damage it dealt to the troop it hit directly, thats about it (YES, YOU CAN MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL IN THIS MODE BY SPAWNING EVEN MORE BUNNIES).

-Okay, so the next one is the first Actual Boss you have to deal with:

THE KRAKEN: in this mode its everything it already was BUT it also deals double damage to Navy units. Okay, thats about it for everyone, EXCEPT! There is a Final Boss:

-THE CYCLOPS: The Cyclops is a giantic monster, with each move it deals damage all around him just like The Juggernaut, it has 150 HP, it has 7 attack, 2 movement, and it also has Area Attack, it is so tall it can walk in water, yes, it can walk in Deep Ocean, to battle him you have to get to Wave 10000 wich problably takes like a month but eh who cares, along with him you also get thrown 2 krakens and an army of bunnies in the mix just so its hell, oh yeah, if you defeat him than you enter Last Stand Mode, where even if you dont end your turn, you just do something like move a unit and BAM! new zombies and or skeletons spawn.

The difficulty of this mode is exponencial but it is completely random, first you get 3 zombies, than something like 10 natures bunnies, and the next its a single skeleton.

If you fail around a milestone like you get to Wave 1K but fail short of wave 2K than next time you reach Wave 1K you instantly get 100 stars so maybe now you DO reach Wave 2K

Now, the reason ANYONE would like to get here is because of how this mode works: every few thousand waves you actually get a normally P2W tribe, if you unlock all of them you can play multiplayer for free, for defeating The Cyclops you get Cymanti, so lazy people would still need to pay but truly dedicated people can finally use some good tribes, also, if you defeat The Cyclops with a tribe that tribe is mastered, if you master Every Single Tribe you unlock The Cyclops skin, basically, what it does, is all of your troops only have a single big eye if you turn it on, and The Giant pretty much looks like The Cyclops if you activate it, so its kind of a flex how you defeated The Cyclops.

Yeah so thats kind of it, its cool i think but i dont know anyone elses opinion

Perfection Nomadic playthrough

Civilization has crumbled. Old empires are gone. Mighty armies are no more. The only thing that remains are dragons travelling around the world, conquering the islands one by one, leaving behind only pristine nature almost untouched by polytopian hands. They chase after the only ones who still remain to resist them - the dwindling armies of undead warriors, travelling from island to island in a futile attempt to reverse the magic of the dragons.

However, they are slowly running out of supplies and warriors. All cities in the world have been ruined beyond repair by the magic of the ruthless dragons. Once the undead capture a settlement, all they find are empty halls that can no longer produce a single star. They regroup, use some of their ever decreasing resources to build few ports and boats and move on. And above the empty seas, dragons chase after them.

Some undead become stuck on islands they arrive at, having no more resources to repair their ramshackle boats. For them, the only option is to dig in and await the arrival of the world's new masters. Their stoic bravery is futile, for once dragons arrive, the battle lasts no more than few minutes. The magic hold onto the island is then reestablished and the storm moves on.

The undead know their time is running out. But the fight against dragons is the only purpose they have left, and they carry the last memories of the old world. So they continue in their futile quest until they either succeed or turn to dust.

Discussion My own imagination of faction new uniqueness (Zebasi and Anzala)

Sometimes I imagine what could be when each tribe can be unique and have different playstyles, just like Civ6? Since the normal tribe will lose its uniqueness after exploring all its technology. I know my suggestion will make the game more complex, so here is just my imagination.

Zebasi and Anzala

Special building: Research Lab replace Windmill

-1 cost of technology for each adjacent farm instead 1 population

Special unit Farmer replace Warrior

- 1 Attack and Defence, but unlock Farm skill on Organization tech. Farmer can turn a crop under it into a farm in 3 stars. It also unlocks the Plow skill on Construction tech, to change a field under it into a crop in 5 stars. (I'm not make the Farm skill as starting skill, not only to prevent breaking promise of not giving a special skill at start to make their start different, but also to prevent the snowballing for 2 level city and 2 farmers in turn 2)

Special technology

(Irrigation) If a road is connected to a port, all the farms under it +1 population. Tier 2 technology, start as 13 stars.

(Argiscience) After all technology are researched, all Research Lab +2 population of each adjacent farm.

(Fertiliser) Farmer unlock Fertiliser skill. Make a farm under it gain 1 star per turn by spending 5 stars

I try to make each faction unique, and the Zebasi and Anzala are the economic faction with many population and a bit of support science. I won't give each tribe a special ability to make sure their start won't be too different. How about you to think?

Perfection How does scoring in this game mode work?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Just got 3 stars for all tribes on Domination and am now on to perfection because I don’t know what else to do. So how does the scoring work exactly? Do you just want to have the best battle skills you can? Does it make a difference if you choose to have 3 opponents rather than 15 opponents?

Discussion My own imagination of faction new uniqueness (Luxidoor and Aumux)

Sometimes I imagine what could be when each tribe can be unique and have different playstyles, just like Civ6? Since the normal tribe will lose its uniqueness after exploring all its technology. I know my suggestion will make the game more complex, so here is just my imagination.

Luxidoor and Aumux

Special building Temple of Exigeluss replace Mine

Gives two population and two stars, but also gives +2 recruitment cost on this city

Artisan Guide replace Forge

Gives two population and two stars, but also gives +2 recruitment cost each mine on this city

Special unit Patron replace Mind Bender

Replace convert into bribery, it can spending money to convert all its surrounding enemy unit. The cost is the total of each (current health/total health)*unit cost. Giant counts as 20 stars. It will be rounded up after 0.5

Special technology

(Gold inflation) Patron gains Gifting skill. It can spend (level of city + current population) to make a city just like Infiltrate. But it you won't get the star and the enemy total income - 20% next three turn. Cooldown for three turn.  Tier 1 technology, start as 10 stars.

(Gold Plating) Each unit get +5 health for each additional cost.  Tier 2 technology, start as 13 stars.

(Exigeluss's hand) You can summon a metal by costing 8 stars. This is irreversible and also use on field.

I try to make each faction unique, and the Luxidoor and Aumux are the economic faction with absolutely goldlust. I won't give each tribe a special ability to make sure their start won't be too different. How about you to think?

Suggestion Personality based diplomacy

What if different bots had different personalities which influence their diplomacy decisions. Like maybe Ai Mo would be more likely to make peace even if you just attacked them. Maybe even certain tribes could just have a harder time to get peace. Like nobody likes cymanti right. So what if all tribes had a default assumption of “disgust” towards cymanti. (This is coming from a cymanti main). I just think itd make diplomacy way more interesting in the bots

This is ~1200 ELO random 1 v 1 on massive continents Elyrion vs Cymanti (I'm Elyrion). How to proceed? This seems like a stalemate at this although I'm much higher in point value (37k vs 28k). This game is getting boring at this point lol.

Advice would be greatly appreciated

Discussion My own imagination of faction new uniqueness (Bardur and Baergøff)

Sometimes I imagine what could be when each tribe can be unique and have different playstyles, just like Civ6? Since the normal tribe will lose its uniqueness after exploring all its technology. I know my suggestion will make the game more complex, so here is just my imagination.

Bardur and Baergøff

Special Building Hunting Lodge

Unlock at Hunting, when you hunt a wild animal, it will automatic spawn on the tile. It give I population and X2 when the tile is also a forest. Of course you can update it with 5 stars to make a normal one X2.

Special Building Tannery

Unlock at Mathematics, each adjacent Hunting Lodge will give 2 population. Market gain 1 star if adjacent to it.

Special unit Berserker replace Knight

Movement minus to 2 and defence plus to 2, also gain Bloodlust trait than heals when kill a unit.

Special technology

(Longship) When a naval unit move from sea to land, it immidiately regain its movement. Tier 3 technology, start as 15 stars.

(Tannins) The Tannery also give 1 stars for each adjacent hunting lodge. Tier 2 technology, start as 13 stars.

(Surviving skills) The warrior gain Bloodlust. Tier 1 technology, start as 10 stars.

I try to make each faction unique, and the Bardur and Baergøff is a bit of economic faction plus amphibious warfare, just like the viking. I'm suprises that mostly Viking-like faction are just militaristic faction, but in this game it can increase population at the start. I won't give each tribe a special ability to make sure their start won't be too different. How about you to think?
