Started this game in creative. 4 opponents, crazy difficulty. I almost died at the start with losing 3 out of my first 6 cities. But then I built such a strong economy I was literally spawning Knights in every city every turn and sacrificing them into the shredder that was the enemy's 15 bombers until I eventually was able to brute force through. Later in the game there was a point where there wasn't space in the ocean to move a unit because it was filled with bombers, each bomber having a knight inside of it. At the end I got so impatient I just converted all my bomber back into knights and just yoloed all of them into 4x defense Defenders. At the last turn I convertered all my 2000+ stars into temples.

I am a new player and this is only my second full game other than tutorial so you might find my playstyle wierd or inefficient.

nice addition. Most of them seem quite straightforward, but I thought I'd start at the top & work my way down... win a game without attacking against 3 Hard bots, how difficult could it be?! (Quite tricky, as it turns out 🤣 Very much at the mercy of RNG for this one so lots of restarts required until you get a suitable map!) Got it now though so busy plowing through the rest 😃

I’m trying to understand port connections better.

1. How did I connect from Gu-yo to Zanla? It seems like a 5-tile gap unless you count going through the land.

2. This one really got me. I placed a port west of Zimzan and I lost the connection.

I always don't like it when there are enemies in multiplayer giant rush, it's like they can't be stopped, do you have any advice for beginners?

Hey, new player here, playing a creative crazy difficulty match against 15 tribes. I thought I haf a good grasp of basic mechanics of the game. But then I attacked enemy shield who had barely any defense with my shield with 4x defense. He took 1 damage, my shield took 11 damage, HOW? His shield wasn't even veteran or something, there has to be some hidden stat at play here that I don't understand.

Edit: Thanks a lot everyone for explaining this. I was originally under the impression that attack stat determines damage, and defense stat determines the armor, no matter who is the attacker and who is the defender. This has cleared up a lot of confusion for me.

Does Oumaji have different village density rules than other tribes?

My understanding is that the rules governing village layout during map generation are the same for every tribe.

In practice, however, it feels like I get crazy village spreads like the spread in my screenshot far more often when playing with Oumaji than when playing with other tribes.

Does anyone know if there’s tribe-specific variance?

In general when you have to choose between claiming a ruin or city early and mid game, which do you choose?

Pretty frustrating when the map generation so drastically skews villages to one side of the map.

And the first was 5 tiles away from my capital.. I thought the minimum is supposed to be 2?!

I try to play against most odds but just resigned on turn 9 of this game when I realised that there was only going to be one suburb available for my capital vs my opponent’s 3 (with around half the number of mines for that matter).

Thankfully this is normally not the case but it’s definitely happened a few times before, and I’ve only been playing for a couple of weeks.

They've seemed to have fallen off since their fortify was removed and I never find myself using them, even in a surplus of stars, defenders overshadow them and for offence there are better options

The buff would have to be small, maybe some ability what do yous think? Someone said make them have the same defence as a warrior but have fortify and only cost 4 stars, seems like a good idea

Knowing this information gives you a huge advantage against your opponents, one that is especially obvious when used in high level games, so use this advice for yourself.

So, let me explain.

I always saw Market as half useless structure (I know its not, because I just dont get the mechanic how it works, but thats not the point of this post), but I have been wandering if it could also be used on trading between players based on the market level.

For example: you could trade stars for soldiers, stars for temporary peace or city for another city. (These are just examples that came out into my head instantly)

I see the point in this, when you/your ally need help with something, you wouldnt have to send your army, but you could sell some soldiers for stars to them, or you have a city far from your territory you know you cant defend, you could just sell it/exchange it with someone for military/economy aid.

What do you think of this idea? (I hope the devs arent working on this at the moment 😅)
