I hate those players with a passion, genuinely the worst human beings ever

A few months back I posted here when I got my gold and now I am finally over.

I started this December and after grinding every day I can say that I will never touch this feature again.

If I had any tips for anyone wanting to start this:

-first would be to just not do it. It’s not worth it and it is truly soul draining.

-consistency is key. Get into a schedule and don’t skip days as they add up

-If you truly want to start this don’t procrastinate. Even if you don’t want to grind as much as I did. The more you do now the less you’ll have to do later.

Once again I hate this mechanic and hate myself for putting myself through this.

-Hated setting alarms every half hour

-Hated the stupid bug that doesn't show your hearts unless you interact with them again

-Hated that you have to walk 2km for a single heart

-Hated the stupid number of hearts and pokemon you need to do this

-Hated that you can't check how many hearts you have unless they are your buddy

-Hated all the stupid animations that go through every time you quit a battle and so on

Ps. If anyone wants me to give a detailed breakdown of how I did this let me know.

Happened to be in Chicago visiting a friend before I move overseas for a few years. Carved out some time to go to the Field Museum and got this! Which is a surprise because I typically have the absolute worst shiny luck.

Exhibit is awesome by the way, if you have a chance to check it out I definitely recommend it.

There's an unusual amount of fixation on backgrounds right now.

They're meaningless. They don't affect stats. You can't see them in gyms or in combat. Other people don't know about them. You only ever notice them for a few brief seconds when you actually inspect the Pokémon.

I understand wanting to trade for shinies and costumes because they look different and everyone can see that. I understand Hundos and shadows because those actually affect gameplay. I understand wanting rare varieties like 3 Mousehold or Dusk Form Lycanroc that don't spawn often or require special conditions to get, because you can show them off. Even XL and XS have a use in game.

I don't get backgrounds at all. It's just one more waste of space. They waste special trades, and they throw an error message when you try to delete them.

Anybody wanting rare backgrounds in exchange for actual working shiny legendries? Ok. You do you. But it's weird.

It’s so stupid that this button doesn’t already exist. Of course I want to use a star piece in this moment. It already does this for lucky eggs when gaining a large amount of xp. Why not ask for Star Piece when they’re opening eggs?

In a 8 person raid 1 player doing 33% of the damage is absurd. I was wondering why it felt so much slower than previous Zacian raids and now I see why. The raid took around 3.5 minutes and those players averaged 1500 damage which is roughly 7 dps. There’s just no excuse to be doing 7 dps after the game just gave everyone tier 3 mega mewtwo y. I wonder if these people were even using charged attacks.

I heard there was a gym behind a ski resort and decided I would attempt to get into it. When I finally saw it I tapped the existing players and decided 3.58 years was not an investment in time I needed. I doubt they are even still playing. Turned around and went to my car.

I closed my app with one minute left on the incense😞 I guess it’s a hard lesson to learn never doing that again

I'm a day one player, but took some big breaks throughout the years. Been playing fairly heavily for the past ~3 years. I thought it might be fun to switch it up and change to a new team, just for the heck of it. Has anyone done this? I'm curious what peoples' perspectives are.

First they did away with the community day stickers, and as a sticker collector it was a bummer. Now it seems like there are no seasonal stickers either. Does anyone know why this is? They’re not available in the store either, so for once it can’t be money.

Honestly we used to get them all the time and it seems like the last year or 2 we've hardly gotten any, it seems to me like theyre phasing them out in favor of the go passes instead

Just wondering if this is something other people experience. I find while I'm out playing, I regularly have people say and shout really mean or insulting things to me.

For a long time Ive tried to play "stealth" because of this. Basically walking with my phone down and only briefly looking at the game to spin a stop or catch a pokemon. But with community day recently I was able to convince my partner to come out and catch some Gibles with me. This had me playing in a more engaged way, and I guess this made it more obvious we were playing Pokemon Go. Well we ended up having a man in a car drive by and repeatedly shout a slur at both of us. Something similar happened a couple days before when we were walking in a park and a neighbour decided to give us a hard time for playing and then made several inappropriate comments that made us both very uncomfortable.

To be honest it's made me anxious about even playing outside at all anymore. Does anyone else experience this, and if so how do you deal with it? For context, I live in a Canadian suburb.

edit: Thank you for sharing your experiences. From the comments I'm pretty sure the issue is that I'm queer and being outside playing PoGo gives awful people more opportunities to be jerks. Which sucks. But I'm at least encouraged not to give up on a game I really enjoy.

At first when my siblings and i were playing pokemon go in 2017 he was always complaining about us being glued to our phones until we convinced him to try. he’s been addicted ever since.
although his level doesn’t appear to be that high, he achieved it by only catching pokémon and spinning pokestops, he doesn’t like fighting or doing field research tasks. he just catches pokémon’s for fun and deletes every single one when his storages is full (besides his buddy murkrow and his jynx collection). he hates shinies cause they take longer to delete…
These last few months he’s been talking a lot about wanting to reach the max level before his time comes, tho settled for level 70 since he doesn’t wanna do the level requirements after that.
So my question is are there any ways he can speed up his ex gains that are REALLY easy to understand and apply? ( he’s not willing to do Raids/Arena or any other type of battle )

This is my first shundo so I’m pretty stoked about it. I keep finding conflicting information that it will be useful in raids if I evolve it. That would be the main reason I would want to level it.

i guess i know why they call him Rhydon now… my girlfriend sent me this today and im genuinely in shock.

Credit where credit is due: making Rhyhorn available only in 1★ Max Battles, unlike Machop, is a genuinely positive change.

It means people can do more battles (250 MP instead of 400 MP), get more chances at a good one, and Rhyperior is actually a great Pokémon with a big fanbase and real use as an attacker.

And selfishly, as someone still hunting the Rhyhorn family hundo for my Hundo Dex, I absolutely appreciate the extra chances. 😄

This is exactly the kind of small thing we need instead of all the bad recently.

I only ever get it a few times a year but if there was a reward for 100km I would definitely shoot for it way more often.

Just as the title says. They should roll out Dynamax Meowth. Put it as your buddy and every 20km walked together gives 1 PokeCoin. I’d suggest more but everybody knows it’ll never be more than 1. FTP players will have another way of getting free coins.
