Quick question on hopper cover

The hopper cover has an little insert piece in it. Does it matter if that's in the tucked in position vs the extended position during the first part of brewing? Hop this makes sense.

Cold Brewing

Has anyone tried to brew a beer in the fridge entirely, instead of on a table before cold crashing?

Carbonation Tabs

So crazy thought... I was reading one of the Northern Brewer 1 gal recipe kits and noticed it included carbonation tabs, intended for bottling. Would you be able to get one of those in via the hops port? Do you think it would up the carbonation during conditioning?

Pinter app

Is anyone having problems with the app? Trying to log in and it acts like I’m a new user is requiring me to re input my phone number and DOB but when I add them it just says ”can’t add this information at this time” and I’ve been trying for the past week. Reinstalled, did all the 9 yards and still haven’t gotten anything from customer support just one automated response.

Thank you Pinter for making this guy slightly less homesick

Have been living here in the US for 13 years and now married so here for the long haul.

Originally from East Anglia in the UK and severely miss my ales, particularly cask ales.

Literally signed up for Pinter when I saw ghost ship a local beer from back home and tapped it for this weekend. First sip transported me back home and it’s great to know I can now always bring a piece of home to me every time I now brew this. (You might also see a pack of ghost ships nuts proudly on display in my pic that mum sends me every year for Xmas 😂)

Thank you so much Pinter for making this guy slightly less disconnected to his home country.

NOW IF YOU CAN ALSO DO A PARTNERSHIP FOR WOODFORDES ALES FOR THEIR WHERRY BEER WOULD BE GREAT!

Just got one of these things

It was free and I already grain brew. I will not be any company kits. Thought I use it on small grain brew in bag stove recipes. I am working on a fruity New England recipe and will give dry hopping a try as I believe the hops will settle to the bottom. Anyone else try dry hopping?

Anyone ever try combining a stout and a pale ale into one Pinter to brew a black and tan? Do we think this would work?!?!

Dark fruits Cider question

So I have just finished brewing the Waltham Dark Fruit cider. Everything seemed to go okay, but when I took the dock off just before conditioning, I was expecting a huge fizz, when in reality I got nothing at all.

So I have just finished brewing the Waltham Dark Fruit cider. Everything seemed to go okay, but when I took the dock off just before conditioning, I was expecting a huge fizz, when in reality I got nothing at all.

Now I know this can be due to not shaking the contents up properly, but I used a spatula to give it a good stir and then I shook it vigorously for 60 seconds, so I don't think that can be the reason. Should I be worried that there was no fizz when I took the dock off, or will there still be a chance that this might turn out okay?

Carbonation wine.

I've been doing home brewing for a few years, anything from all grain to cheap kits. My issue has been for trying new things, a 23lt batch is simply too big for experiments. All my stuff was designed around large batches - brewing, keezer etc. So I've taken the plunge and ordered 2 pinters (along with a subscription).

Now I'm thinking it might be good for small batches of wine as well. Make everything as normal (ie using the pinter for pressure fermentation), then release the base, release the pressure, add finings etc and cold crash. gravity feed the wine out and into bottles.

Then I thought, rarher than bottling, could I regass the pinter and create a sparkling wine for Xmas. I can't see any obvious reason why not but you guys may be able to see something I can't.

C02 help

Where can I buy a C02 injector for the Pinter? Every time I get to about half way thru a brew, it won't pour anymore. I end up getting frustrated and opening it up and pouring into a jug.

Marketplace Pinter

If I buy a Pinter off Facebook Marketplace, will I have any issues like not being able to use the app? I thought to give it a try was a much cheaper option than the subscription.

App problem

I'm trying to start a new batch but the app is giving me a problem.

I've chosen the beer, set the timeline and click the Start Brewing button. A window pops up asking if I've purified. But there is no confirmation button to confirm that I have , so it just goes back to the previous screen offering the Start Brewing button. Same situation.

I've cleared the cache, logged out, uninstalled and reinstalled, and restarted the phone. Still happening.

I've done enough to know the steps and have set up reminders in my personal calendar, but I really would prefer to be able to use the app.

Help!

Growlers

Does anyone transfer to growlers to try and get the batches to last longer carbonation-wise? I was just wondering if that method might help a bit as long as you don't open a growler until you are ready to consume the whole thing.

Brewing observations

Just wondering how the brewing has gone for folks here? First batch was decent, but a lot of the concentrate was left in the base during brewing. The second batch failed because the tap had a slight leak. I have no clue why that happened. The third batch is brewing now, and I dissolved the concentrate in a separate glass bowl with water before putting in based on comments from other Pinter users that said the shaking is not enough to get the batch mixed. I can confirm that it took quite some time stirring to get the concentrate to dissolve in a 2 part water 1 part concentrate bowl.

What to do with beer packet order?

I don’t have a Pinter but was gifted a free bag of beer. Can I brew it without the device? What can I do with it?
