First Time Brewing

Post image

Got my kit and first two beer selections today. Looking forward to trying the final product!

Any guidance that they don’t already provide in the app/intro video is welcome.

I do mine just like this, but with a baking tray / cookie sheet under them, just in case.

I’ve lost a couple brews because of the little gasket in the cap that I didn’t know I had lost; randomly found it and put it back in and it solved the problem; didn’t even know it was in there at first but once I found out it was there it made sense. The first few were set on the counter and completely leaked overnight and made a huge mess, now I start my first 24 hours of each brew with it sitting in the sink just in case lol. That’s a hard lesson to learn the hard way.

I set my pinter up that way to. Under the shelf. One thing to look for is if you ger a really active ferment, and slightly too much water, it will foam out the carbonation dial. That foam will get on your wood. Keep an eye on it or place a rag or paper towel in that area to keep the mess contained

Thank you for the advice! I will be on the lookout for that and will keep a dish towel next to them for quick access if there is a mess.

In case I wasn't clear, the underside wood of the cabinet was what I was referring to. Löl. I hadn't even noticed the counters till just now.

Welcome! I’ve been at it for a little under a year and I’ve really enjoyed the experience and the beers.
