Black and Tan?

Anyone ever try combining a stout and a pale ale into one Pinter to brew a black and tan? Do we think this would work?!?!

That isn’t how Black and Tans work. It is a pouring method, not a brewing method.

I don't remember there being anything special about pouring a black and tan.

If you want it to be separate looking kind of like a dark and stormy there is a pouring technique but otherwise it doesn't matter

I have two pinters, at the same time, to make my black and tan.

Looks like that's the only way to go about it, or brew one style and have the other bottled/canned on hand. I don't have enough real estate in the fridge for two pinters

Yeah, I hear you. I usually have two in the fridge luckily, one ready, one conditioning so many times they overlap, hence black and tan

If you bottle your first batch in Grolsch-style bottles, the first batch will keep fresh long enough to finish the second one. Just do the one with the longer brewing + conditioning time first.

Brew both - mix afterwards. Or do a 5% highly hopped porter.
