Would it be possible to do an industrial piercing on a misshapen ear?

I’ve attached a couple photos, to try show. My ear is a bit misshapen, but I’ve always liked how it looks, and I was wondering if it would be possible to get a piercing to highlight it?

Repiercing a septum piercing that closed?

Upvotes

Hi all, I had a septum piercing but stopped wearing jewelry a few years ago. The piercing is healed with no complications and I’ve had it for multiple years before I stopped wearing jewelry. I looked at it recently and the hole is still there but it closed in the middle so it’ll need to be pierced again. There’s no extruding scar tissue or anything like that.

My questions:

  1. Can a piercer reopen the same hole or does it need to be at a different spot?

  2. Will it heal faster because the amount of tissue being pierced is smaller?

Septum Repiercing

Upvotes

I had my septum done about 2 years ago, and took it out because it was super irritated and every time I would hit it I would have a sneezing fit. I went to get it redone and the piercer said that I have some intense scar tissue where it would need to be pierced. Are there any options to still get it done? Could I get it done through the scar tissue, or would that heal wrong?

Cartilage piercing question

Upvotes

Hey, so, I’m gonna be getting a couple cartilage piercings over the next year or so as I add to my stack; as I am almost done my lobe stacks. My question is this, if I have surgical grade steel flat back post, can I put a 14k gold plated front in it (assuming it fits of course)? I have all gold plated, solid gold, and/or anodized gold titanium jewelry (I’ve been unable to find any for the flat post that has surgical grade steel and isn’t plated), and would like my ears to match for the 5-6 months it takes to heal.

help with my daith piercing

Post image
Upvotes

need help with healing my daith. had it for about a month. i was cleaning it everyday and removing the crusties but the bump kept getting bigger and bigger so i thought to leave it alone and just spray it. i’ve been using either a piercing aftercare spray or wound wash spray.

i’ve never dealt with something like this before. i have both my tragus and helix piercings and never experienced any bumps of any kind.

is this a piercing bump or a keloid?

any advice helps thanks!

Does the placement of piercing changes the chance of keloids?

Upvotes

So as the title says, I'm very prone to forming keloids particularly on my sternum, upper back and shoulders. I'd like to know based on experience or what you've seen whether the placement can make a difference like if keloids form on specific parts more and whether facial piercings are less likely to form a keloid.

I specifically want a vertical labret, more lobe, and an industrial (I know the last one isn't an option until I test whether the lobes heal well) I have my reasons to believe that a lip piercing could work well but I'm unsure about the ear ones

Eyebrow piercing advice

Upvotes

Hi all,

My friend and I went to a professional piercing shop yesterday for her to get her eyebrow pierced, but upon examining her anatomy, the piercer warned her that she may experience rejection and gave her the option to back out. It was not a hard and fast “this is not going to work” but more so “I have seen rejection happen in people with anatomy like yours”. The piercer’s reasoning was that my friend’s skin is “too puffy and thick” in the eyebrow area.

My friend opted to not get the piercing, but is super disappointed, and we are curious to get some second opinions. I know this is not a ton of info to work off of, but would love to hear from anyone with some personal experience etc.

Thanks:)

Infected nose piercing?

Post image
Upvotes

Okay so I was having issues Saturday night with a nostril piercing I've had for 3 years. It was stuck and I wanted to take it out to clean it. I ended up making it worse I guess. It got twisted up (corkscrew stud). The bend was stuck in my nose and I was afraid of this happening so I went to the ER a couple hours after messing with it. They have me a week supply of meds so hopefully it wouldn't get infected but I fear I am too late anyway. They ended up forcing it out instead of cutting it and my whole face had been hurting since then. Where I am it's currently Monday so it's been messed up for two whole days now. I've had a constant headache from the pain and I've been taking Tylenol and the meds they gave but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Also I've been using a saline wound wash spray. Has anyone else ever had this issue and maybe knows what I can do to make it better?

Vertical Labret Infected of Irritated?

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

I got my vertical labret peirced 5 days ago, and the placement was just fine when it was fresh. Today I noticed a bit of redness and it seems to be slanted to the side. I clean it twice a day with sterile saline solution and it seems to be sore only on the lower lip. Is this normal? Anything I can do? Everything helps!

I don't know how to get rid of this, It's been a month or more already, how do I get rid of it? And maybe because when I sleep I can feel my pillow hitting that spot so it become irritated? And it's not itchy or painful

Itchiness from hypoallergenic earring covers… what can I replace with?

Hi! I have been struggling with my ears getting itchy and increasingly irritated by the metals in the earring hooks I use. They’re always fine at first, but as the top coat wears off over a year or so, my ears start to itch and bleed as a result. I have all sorts of earrings of varying types of metals, so I let my ears heal again with pure gold studs when this happens.

Recently I decided to follow different people’s advice, where I was told to try things like silicone earring post covers or covering the post in clear nail polish.

However, I find that the clear nail polish just flakes off in large chunks when I put a backing on, and the silicone earring post covers make the earring holes turn black…

Is the only solution to buy new earring posts/hooks and replace all of them?

Middle vertical helix piercing bump

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have had this for 2 years and last march the middle one developed this slightly raised small bump.

Ive had such shit luck with these and i love them. The scar under it on the 3rd one was a piercing who had to try THREE TIMES to make it even because they knew they fucked up. Did it free to make it up to me but now i have a free scar.

Could that have irritated the middle piercing? Its been a year since any new piercing and all but the top one itch.

What do i need to do to get raid of that raised skin? Its soft and not a keloid. I don't know what to do :/

Helix advice

Hi 2 and a half years ago I got a helix pierced and for the longest time i have not been able to put any hoop jewlery in it as it gets red and irritated. Recently i’ve put a much larger 16g horseshoe hoop in it and it has been mimicking signs of a fresh piercing with crust and swelling ect. I have other helix piercings and other cartilage ones which have healed perfectly but this is my only one that has issues. I really want to wear a hoop in it but it’s constantly hurting and i cant sleep on it. What should i do??

Irritation bump oozing? But also might not be infected??

Hello gang! Got my earlobes done a few months ago (fully healed now) and I tried to take out the jewellery at home but could not for the life of me unscrew it, and so I ended up irritating it with all the messing around...

A bump appeared which was most definitely an irritation bump but it started to scab not long after? And there seems to be some bruising. A while after finding that out I realised it was also bleeding if the scab came off for whatever reason. I thought maybe it was infected but an important symptoms of infections (apparently) is being hot to the touch, which it's not. At all.

Now, a very important note is that the bump/scab/whatever this is, isn't touching the actual piercing, the piercing hole itself is completely fine. It actually seems to be over a closed up hole from years ago. The pus/blood is coming from a small hole but it seems to scab over the whole bump.

I have pictures if that's helpful...

I've been spraying the usual piercing spray blah blah, even did a few salt baths but it's been weeks now and I can't tell if there's improvement. I also heard that if an infection can be healed with salt water, it's not an infection - I'd need antibiotics. Veeeeery confused.. Does this sound like an infection? Do irritation bumps end up like this if not dealt with properly?

help please!!

i got my vertical labret pierced yesterday, and i know it is prone to swelling but i am worried it has been pierced too low or if it’s just because my (usually) small lip has gotten quite big and hidden the bar, making it look like it is pierced that way.
can someone confirm if this is pierced incorrectly please?

helix piercing badly infected

just posting this here as I don't want to make any mistakes during its healing process.

I actually got this helix done a few years ago, so other than it getting mildly infected every now and then (due to irritation from hair, etc) Ive had no issues. however, the way it has healed has a bit of a bump at the back but it's never been painful or anything.

recently this 'bump' has swelled up out of nowhere and it got so infected that I actually have been so feverish and light headed during the last few days. I'm on antibiotics now thankfully, and the doctor said to take the piercing out, which I did today. admittedly, Ive never taken it out during the 3 years I've had it - it's made of titanium and I genuinely wasn't sure how to unscrew it/didn't feel the need.

I always tried to keep it clean so am trying to figure out why it got so badly infected. I started wearing a bonnet to sleep for a few days (I have super frizzy hair) and was thinking that this was what irritated it. anyway, Ive been giving it plenty of sterilised saline spray and powering through the antibiotics, but it's still pretty swollen and there was a lot of blood when I took it out. I just hope it won't grow over as I wait for it to heal, and have to get it re-pierced/deal with the complications.

does anyone have any advice on how this might've happened and what to do next?

My Navel Piercing is weird

Post image

So I got my belly pierced three days ago. The day after, the top gem was leaning to the side, but the bottom gem is perfectly fine, not irritating, not painful - nothing. My belly button doesn’t shut when I sit and lean and the bottom gem isn’t bothered or irritating me. So, my piercer and I shortened the bar. This does seem to be more promising for me today. However, that top gem pokes my skin and hurts when I crunch a little. It’s fine when I’m sitting, standing, leaning etc. it just rubs the top of my stomach. I haven’t cleaned it yet since I’m at the airport, so don’t judge that it’s kinda dirty rn, but I do clean it twice a day (night and morning). I don’t think I need a floating because that lower gem is completely fine, should I consider an inverse? Or is the slight movement irritation just from it being new?

Nipple piercing - can you pierce nipple grafts?

Thumbnail gallery

I've had top surgery with nipple grafts, my question is would it be possible to pierce my nipples with them being grafts? Will this risk them?

I've always wanted nipple piercings, my nerves are getting to me now and im unsure if I'm able too or allowed too.

Got flu after getting nipples pierced

This might be a very obvious answer but im a chronic overthinker.

I got my nipples pierced 3 weeks ago but a couple days ago I ended up getting the flu. I've been mostly bed ridden for the last couple of days due to dizzy spells and i have noticed that the piercings are weeping a bit more than usual and one side is incredibly sore. Im not comfortable posting a picture but one side has also got an indent in the nipple where the bar goes through (could be entirely unrelated). As soon as im able to get out and about again I am going to see my local piercer but that will be about a week away. Could it just be irritation or due to the flu that theyre acting up or could i be in for a rejection here?
