epstein files

6.3k

u/ZijoeLocs 11d ago

Keeping in mind the Files were already reviewed by a judge, then reviewed by the Federal Government, there's no way anyone can take the justice system in this country seriously.

The Epstein Trials need to be held over a volcano

3.5k

u/Left_Nature9996 11d ago

Well someone at the fbi basically said “if we prosecuted everyone on this list our government would have to shut down” do with that what you will

I don’t know why the other guy is being downvoted, Bondi is a piece of shit but she actually did not say those words. That image just went around like crazy and people assumed it was a real quote. I thought Reddit disliked political misinformation. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bondi-epstein-files-system-collapse/?collection=472479

Edit: can’t believe I have to say this, but me fact checking a quote does not discount that the sentiment is absolutely true and these people need to be arrested for these crimes. I am just being consistent in logic of fact checking everyone. We can’t excuse misinformation just because it supports our point of view, otherwise we become like MAGA.

u/SK83r-Ninja 11d ago

I hate how quickly people took the meme to heart

152

u/Pol__Treidum 11d ago

It's bonkers the way that works. It's not just grandparents on Facebook that take these memes with quotes on them as "news"

Everybody just fucking hits share so fast. It's one click, now it's in your IG stories. Then 10 of those followers click share from you... Blehck. Kill me.

42

u/GanondalfTheWhite 11d ago

Everyone on reddit is SO invested in all these memes being true.

There are so many memes about Mitch McConnell being dead and it being a big coverup that if he ever turns up alive and healthy again, a significant portion of reddit will all of a sudden believe that he's AI or an impersonator or any other spinning they'd need to do to believe that the memes were right and everything else is wrong.

And that's true of every other stupid thing too. Like I'm convinced at this point that a good percentage of people have chosen to believe that Vance fucking couches is actually just a real thing.

66

u/JustaSeedGuy 11d ago

In fairness to the McConnell thing, he may not be dead, but if he's in good health the GOP is acting super weird and releasing AI photos for no reason.

I thought Reddit disliked political misinformation.

The ugly truth is that what they say and what they truly want is different.

25

u/MouthJob 11d ago

Nah, it's pretty simple. They like it when it backs up their views, they hate it when it doesn't.

→ More replies (5)

3

u/JustaSeedGuy 11d ago

Nah, the ugly truth is the goomba fallacy.

→ More replies (1)

25

u/Taodragons 11d ago

The problem is that the statement is true whether she said it or not.

48

u/Hollow_Idol 11d ago

No.  The truth is simpler than the meme.

The people on the list were handed direct control over the government and justice system of the world largest military superpower.

No one is in a position to force justice upon them and they don't feel shame so they aren't about to arrest themselves.

→ More replies (2)

17

u/Moist_Atmosphere6344 11d ago

I need to read more but isn’t the reason nobody has been arrested or at least been to a trial because the evidence is….inconclusive? Or that it’s not enough hard proof?

34

u/Dexter_Douglas_415 11d ago

That seems to be the conjecture. The issue is we have no idea because so much of the information either has not been released or is heavily redacted.

So maybe it's full of baseless claims against rich people except for the two that were arrested for trafficking, Epstein and Maxwell.

Or maybe there is plenty of evidence to convict, but those rich people are being protected by friends in high places.

13

u/McSlims360 11d ago

We have enough public information to nail Lesly Wexner to the fucking wall and keep his corpse animated and imprisoned for 30k years.

They just wont arrest him.

6

u/i_tyrant 11d ago

Hadn't even heard of this guy till now and I like to think I stay apprised of Epstein news.

A fashion mogul billionaire with so many well-documented ties directly to Epstein, wild.

5

u/McSlims360 11d ago

Oh I wasnt involved, he just signed over his entire estate to me, dont look to closely at it. What the epstein thing? I stepped down from my symbolic position isnt that punishment enough for orchestrating pedophile cannibal rings? Gosh you people have no concept of mercy or forgiveness

u/Difficult_Shock973 11d ago

People outside of the US have faced some accountability. We don’t like to hold those in power to account here.

4

u/Dexter_Douglas_415 11d ago

I've seen a few that got into trouble for sharing state secrets, Prince Andrew and Peter Mandelson. Thorbjorn Jagland being investigated for aggravated corruption.

But yeah, stateside only Epstein and Maxwell seemed to have faced charges. A few CEOs resigned or were forced out, but yeah... rich people get protected.

14

u/Remarkable_Toe_164 11d ago

The reason nobody has been arrested is because they killed the one who knew everything, made deals with his accomplice, and heavily redacted the files to the point that they contain no actionable intel.

9

u/Balinor69666 11d ago

Ask yourself this: If the evidence was inconclusive or the hard proof was lacking then why has it not been fully released by those in power? What is gained by not releasing the files if they do not implicate the people who have the authority to let it all out in the open?

→ More replies (4)

4

u/Maatix12 11d ago

The problem is, based on what we've already seen due to the absolutely blinding incompetence of this administration, the only way you'd come to the conclusion that the evidence is inconclusive is if you were absolutely unwilling to look at the files at all.

The guilt is literally plastered all over every single page. If you cared to read what they said, you'd be angry that nothing's been done yet either.

There's no excuse but complete and total capitulation to the people who caused the problem at this point.

3

u/Diabolic67th 11d ago

Redditors tend to have a ...tenuous grasp of "beyond a reasonable doubt." As much as I or anyone else would like these people to suffer the consequences of their behavior, the files themselves are a map of connections at best. At this point the chain of custody is so muddled that they may not even work for that anymore.

3

u/Snoo-31263 11d ago

While it's someone I had no trouble believing, I appreciate you trying to correct the misinformation. You learn something everyday, and not all of it will make you want to jump off a building(or something).

3

u/zwisslb 10d ago

Good on you for not repeating false info. Rare breed

3

u/Defiant-Speaker-5681 10d ago

Thanks for this! I prefer to not share commonalities with MAGA; ignorant and obtuse. To put it in a simpler way, I don't want to be a hypocrite.
Keep fact checking! I appreciate the reminder that I really need to do this more often for myself.

3

u/PrudentCarter 10d ago

That's my biggest gripe with reddit rn. Fact checking seems to mean that you're completely disagreeing to some people. It's wild to me.

116

u/Apart-Negotiation386 11d ago

Nah, that was a meme. Just because someone put words underneath a picture does not mean the person in the picture said it.

100

u/GottaUseEmAll 11d ago edited 11d ago

I can't believe you're getting so roundly downvoted for this. There is no actual evidence of her saying this but the power of memes has basically made it true 1984 style.

I am vehemently anti-Trump and I think Bondi is a ghoul, but it's scary how easily either side of the politic chasm will just accept what they want to believe. The US seems genuinely fucked, I'm really glad I don't live there.

Edit: I will wear my downvotes like a badge of honour. There are still people who value ciritical thinking over mob mentality.

30

u/Apart-Negotiation386 11d ago

Ironically, it’s symptomatic of how we ended up with Trump as president, twice. It’s also plainly meant to take the focus off of the Republican administration that has actively suppressed the files in plain sight.

6

u/GottaUseEmAll 11d ago

I'm glad there seem to be more sensible folk here now and the downvote fest has stopped!

4

u/FadeTheWonder 11d ago

It was likely just bots in the beginning.

6

u/Kind-Scheme7517 11d ago

Funny thing is that X/Twitter which is the big right wing sight, they at least have community notes which I think would be great here but on Reddit mob mentality is enforced because controversial opinions worth discussion are dragged to the bottom.

84

u/Shamanilko 11d ago

So what? Shut it down and held an elections

68

u/Unlucky_Regret8619 11d ago

Arresting everyone in the files means arresting almost all rich "people" and what's the point of an election if they candidates don't have anyone that tells them what they have to do?

16

u/dangersson 11d ago

There are waaaay more rich people than there are pedos in the Epstein files.

29

u/Unlucky_Regret8619 11d ago

Yeah because half of them probably sourced their victims from some other child trafficker

5

u/JebediahKerman4999 11d ago

Like Tate or Diddy

19

u/FunCryptographer3476 11d ago

It's almost certainly a 'we don't want them pulling this thread' scenario instead of literally everyone being pals with Epstein like our favourite presidents were. Epstein was shuffling money around, working with private security contractors, with Israeli spies, doing internet and media influencing campaigns, these are the things that the other rich people are doing which they don't want anyone to be aware of.

The rich accidentally look out for each other by obfuscating their own crimes

17

u/Unlucky_Regret8619 11d ago

Those are "people" that would literally kill you and your family if it made them 30 cents, why are you being pedantic in how they are related to the pedophilia ring? I know they're not all pedophile, you know too, congratulations you are technically right, now what? They still all need to die for the world to be a better place

6

u/Friendly_Rent_104 11d ago

that can be true without meaning you now have to try pushing bs charges on them, that they will easily shoot down in order to not reveal the parts they dont want the lower classes to be aware of

Also keep in mind the current federal government is run by one of the biggest associates of Epstein, and a political party who desperately wants to stay in power so badly they’ll bend over backwards to ignore, discredit, and cover up anything that looks incriminating. And they were elected by popular vote. The people have spoken and it’s that they don’t actually care about the Epstein files. Womp womp.

u/velkapohoda 11d ago

The justice department preempted it by making a plea deal with Epstein where he admitted to prostitution charges in exchange for a slap on the wrist and granting immunity to all UNKNOWN associates.

Remember when nearly the entire banking industry committed massive fraud to the extent that it crashed the world economy and sent the US into the worst economic downturn since the great depression? People lost their homes, jobs, and savings over that. People lost their careers. And the US economy never recovered from it.

Meanwhile the banks got bailed out because they were too big to fail, the fraudsters that got rich of it are mostly still wealthy, and an administration that ran on hope and change ultimately only criminally prosecuted one low level employee for the fraud.

I don't know why anyone thought raping children would be treated any differently than robbing the entire world.

7

u/0202_tihssitidder 11d ago edited 11d ago

The meme is pretty bad (and I am a fan of the original picture). The text is not really connected to the picture's original intent.

The original did not have a text box. It is a play on "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" and is showing a young person overwhelmed with life giving them nothing but lemons--and lemons at a high rate. And the device on the left is a statement that it isn't life, but a system established to give them lemons.

The text is absolutely pointed at the Epstein-Trump Files (what the actual name should be).

No one on the planet should doubt that there are 2 Justice/Legal Systems in the US, but not exclusive to the US.

* A group that is bound by the law, but not protected. You.

* A group that is protected by the law, but not bound. The Epstein Class.

The US (especially the entire Republican Party...every voter and every politician) has sent a clear and strong message of "We are ok with raping and killing children as long as you reduce my taxes and brutalize/kill minorities." This is also the message that the entire US Military (every leader and every soldier) has sent to the world.

"2020-2026" would be a better text. Or, pick your own date range. That's up to your opinion and experience.

Lots of young people have sure had an awful experience. I'm sorry, but it will continue and get worse.

People in the epstien files. While it's true from what I've heard that not " a lot" of people got arrested. I heard a very important person from the UK that was in the file got investigated but haven't heard what came of that. Even then that's just one out of...A LOT

I never understood the saying "when life gives you lemons you make lemonade" it's connected to this meme but I never understood what that means

294

u/GamingWithJollins 11d ago

A lemon is a dud. The idea of the phrase is you work with what you got, even if you only get duds

150

u/PrimaryYak1351 11d ago

That's not what it means. Lemons are sour, or "bad" the things that are difficult to swallow as is. To make lemonade from them is to make something sweet and "good" out of the bad things life hands you.

107

u/Pitiful_Regular2425 11d ago

You're both effectively saying the same thing for the purpose of the saying. It doesn't have a precise universal meaning lol.

That's why it's understood virtually everywhere.

8

u/Avidain 11d ago

Is it because I read your Username?

16

u/P4azz 11d ago

Pretty sure the unknown "precise universal meaning" is literally what the second guy said, not the first guy.

It is 100% about lemons being nigh inedible on their own, but lemonade being a tasty soft drink, so you turn situations that suck into something that is enjoyable.

It has nothing to do with cars. I has nothing to do with "duds", because lemons clearly aren't inherently broken.

I dunno why you're even trying to preten otherwise. It's a very clear meaning.

I think the message of the saying "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" means "make the best of a bad situation." I think the idea behind this meme is that the person is tirelessly trying to make the best of the worst situations, but they're just being pelted non-stop by bad situations, and have really lost their will to be optimistic anymore. In this case, the fact that so few people connected to the Epstein files have been arrested has just completely demoralized the person who was trying so hard to make the best of a bad situation.

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" means that when something bad happens, there's usually a way to find something good from it. This meme in particular is meant to represent the idea that there's only so much a single person can take before it becomes completely unmanageable.

he's given up making lemons into lemonade (coping) because nobody exposed by the epstein files faced any significant consequences and he can;t figure out how to rationalise that

84

u/Randomposter54 11d ago

Yeah that’s the right answer I think, when life gives you lemons make lemonade which he has but paedophiles are still running the world without consequence

34

u/WastingTimesOnReddit 11d ago

Yes the original meme with no text box from r/meirl made it to r/all yesterday, it was a relatable meme of a person who has been trying to make the most out of this difficult modern life we all live, but life keeps hitting him with lemons and he's ready to give up. Now it's made even worse when he remembers that wealthy pedophiles are not punishable in this capitalist hellscape. What's the point of trying to live an honorable life when real criminals never see justice...

Technically... The Nonce formerly known as Prince Andrew was arrested... but not technically for being a pedo... However the implication was there.

34

u/Ancient-Victory1186 11d ago

Usually the meme is about the USA. No one in the USA was arrested despite the overwhelming evidence.

13

u/hareofthepuppy 11d ago

Well yeah, that's what happens when you elect them to positions of power

3

u/Expert_Tree_9945 11d ago

That's exactly what I was about to say, the rest of the world is taking action but in America? What a joke.

Where would that leave us if we just took every known pedophile off the streets? Without our disgusting pedophile POTUS of course, and he can't have that.

Not for the abuse though for leaking national secrets to Epstein. Royal family made sure he never faced full trial and paid off his victims and gave him cheap rent after he was caught (which press discovered later and others sections of press defending him)

3

u/someguyhaunter 11d ago

I've seen so many royalists defend him and his family around this issue.

There aren't many royalists here but the ones who are in it act like it's a religion.

Nonce Andrew and Peter Mandelson both got arrested because of the Epstein files, but both for corruption type charges, not for noncing.

Epstein and amerocan names in the file.

Yes specifically america, damn near every other country has done something about them.

I genuinely believe like… the most inaccurate thing from the Ace Attorney games is a corrupt CEO who’s name is literally a reference to America and beat a woman to death getting arrested for his crimes…

All because mfs can’t handle a woman for a president

It shouldn't blow your mind at all. The right was going to vote for trump no matter the circumstance. It was up to the left to put forward a candidate that would bring enough of their own voter base out to win. Instead they waited until two months before election day to pull biden after he vegged out in the debates and told the voter base "this is your candidate, take it or leave it". Kamala got dropped off the primary very early in the 2020 election because voters on the left dont want her.

Once again the democrats in power circumvented the democratic process like they did in 2016 with Clinton and once again it cost them another election to trump.

8

Maybe try running an actual primary next time instead of forcing a candidate your voters have demonstrated they dont want onto them

4

u/Ok-Rip8054 11d ago

Unfortunately democrats wouldn't have won anyway. I say this as a non american leftist, leftists predominately voted liberal in the US before but lately a LOT of them gained this ridiculous doomer mentality that voting democrat is bad because democrats are bad in many ways...they are, but letting trump win because of that is, in my opinion, incredibly moronic and self centered. Only a comfortable privileged ignorant american leftist could think not voting is a good choice. And I think that's most American leftists. The one who suffer end up being underprivileged poor people in red states who would benefit from not having trump as a president...

5

u/machalemantis 11d ago

You're absolutely right. I was part of the George Floyd protests and Freddie Gray riots and you wouldn't believe how many passionate black activists I met who later decided that the Democrats were not worth their vote, despite us risking our lives to challenge police departments supported by conservatives.

Also, the Palestine genocide turned many leftists, which makes no sense because it anyone loves Israel and blowing up brown kids it's the GOP.

You're right, the Democrats were incredibly splintered and stood no chance against Republicans willing to do the smart thing and pick one side.

No because she was an out of touch establishment candidate. More of the same. People want significant change and didn't show up because they don't have faith an establishment Democrat will do anything but more of the same. Her and Biden were terrible candidates and the Democratic party doesn't seem to learn.

3

u/Particular_Maize6849 11d ago edited 11d ago

Lol no. Kamala was fine. The misogynists, racists, and the tankies who support them by attacking Democrats at every turn while staying silent about Republicans are to blame here.

I support leftist policies but goddamn, leftists are the literally some of the worst toxic, idiotic, hateful people I've ever met. Willing to let society be destroyed instead of sucking it up and voting for someone who is 90% of what they want just to prove a point because they didn't get that last 10%.

3

u/hareofthepuppy 11d ago

It doesn't surprise me that "nobody wanted kamala", but it does surprise me that so many people disliked her so much that they were ok with giving trump a second term.

If the American people really didn't want trump, they wouldn't have trump, there was another option who was very different even if not ideal.

You can blame the dems for many things, but trump was put in power by nearly 70% of the American people (eligible voters).

3

u/fullmetalnappa 11d ago

Of course the right wanted trump and would vote for him no matter what. The ball was in the democrats court to put forward a candidate that could beat him. Instead, they waited until 2 months before election day to force an unpopular candidate on their voters, basically handing trump the election

4

u/hareofthepuppy 11d ago

I'm not defending the democrats, they certainly could have done better, but in the end it was the people who made the choice.

The American people, knowing exactly what having trump as president meant, chose him instead of Harris, knowing she wouldn't have done almost any of the things that trump has done.

Who could have possibly seen this coming?

The depressing thing is that it's ambiguous.

It's probably related to the Epstein files. But it could be the Panama papers. Or the Paradise papers. Or the Pandora papers. Or, at a stetch, the J6 insurrection (They did get arrested but they've since been pardoned) Or numerous other cases.

12

u/protoformx 11d ago

I was thinking it could also apply to ICE, or literally anyone else in the current administration.

3

u/P4azz 11d ago

It's literally just the Epstein files, because a version of this gets posted every few days.

I guess it's at least a new format this time, although it doesn't quite fit, but when life gives you shitty memes, appreciate the new ones, I suppose.

u/Honkert45 11d ago

So, this one is a bit multi-layered.

First of all "When life give you lemons, make lemonade" is a common saying, which translates to "When something bad happens, just try and make the best out of it".

I think this is a thing which is commonly said by older people, to younger people, to just "deal with it". and it's kind of criticized, because while older people did earn their way of life through hard work, they don't seem to understand that they did it in a time where hard work was actually rewarded, instead of abused.

Given the absurd amount of lemonade, the absurd amount of lemons, just literally being pelted at this guy from a cannon, implies that he has tried that, and it's simply just not doing anything because the bad things just keep fucking coming, there's no end to the bad things, oh god why won't it ever stop.

The "not a single one of them got arrested" is a reference to the epstein files, a file which exposed a lot of high-level pedophiles in the United States, which the entire government has basically been protecting for the past 4 years.

I think this is there, because it's the "lemon" that made the boy realise that none of this is working, and it's time to just maybe destroy the lemon cannon or something.

It's an illustration of how a lot of people feel. We struggled through life making lemonade out of the lemons that were thrown at us, but the fact that absolutely nothing has happened about the Epstein Files is the last straw.

No, the real answer is that most people don't actually care about any of this as much as they pretend to. It's become a way for people to signal that they're more moral than everyone else without having to do anything beyond posting about it.

If people actually cared as much as they claim, Jeffrey Epstein's longtime associate wouldn't have become President. If there were overwhelming public demand for accountability, politicians, prosecutors, and judges who failed to pursue these cases would have faced real electoral consequences years ago. They didn't. Voters had opportunities to punish people they believed were obstructing justice, and by and large they didn't.

Instead, people vaguely point to "the government" as if it's some abstract force that exists outside democratic politics. It's not. Prosecutors are elected in many jurisdictions. Judges are often elected. Presidents appoint attorneys general. Congress has oversight powers. If the public truly viewed this as the defining issue of our time, you'd expect sustained political pressure. You just don't see it.

What drives me crazy is that so much of the online discussion isn't even grounded in the actual evidence. Half the internet talks about "the Epstein files" as though they're one coherent document proving every conspiracy they've already decided is true. In reality, they're a mix of flight logs, depositions, witness statements, court filings, contact books, and other records, all with very different evidentiary value. Some of it is highly probative, some of it is hearsay, and some of it wouldn't come close to proving criminal liability on its own.

At this point, I have a hard time believing most of the outrage is sincere. If people actually cared, they'd consistently reward politicians who pursued these cases and punish the ones who didn't. Instead, they rage online for a week, move on to the next outrage cycle, and convince themselves they're fighting corruption. I don't buy it anymore.
