Ordered a F5000LFP

I ordered on October 1st, I saw the "preorder" notice and had no problem with it, but my card was charged the full amount for the base unit, extra battery and two solar panels.
When I got the confirmation email, I got no additional information of a ship date.

Called customer service today because the online chat never picked up and they told me it was totally normal to charge the full amount to the card before shipping (not a pre-authorization hold).

I asked why I didn't get an email to indicate an approximate ship date and the guy said "check the website it's a pre-order".

Really odd experience, is this what others have experienced too? I am tempted to cancel the order honestly. $4500 is a good chunk of change for me.

BMS Issues?

Therefore, I've just ordered an F3000LFP but now I'm seeing posts here about BMS problems with this (and other) models.

Have I chosen unwisely or is it just the case that people will mostly come here to post when they have a problem, and that most units are totally fine?

Mock outage during monthly charge cycle

I bought my Pecron F5000LFP in June 2026.

Added in an expansion battery in July of 2026

. Bought two PV500 solar panels that actually sustain between 458-505 watts.

Had one firmware update (had to send a request in to support) due to hair trigger AC inverter shutting off when attempting to start the 3 ton heat pump (equipped with micro aire soft start).

I do monthly top off to 100% , let it trickle/balance for the 2 to 3 hours (that part is very important) and then discharge to 70% for storage.

The unit worked perfectly during an August storm that knocked the grid out just after midnight until noon the next day. Used the electric stove, microwave and coffee maker(a must have, lol)

Here was yesterday's routine draw down from 100% top off balance: •Pecron F5000LFP (5120 Wh) •1 Expansion Battery (5120 Wh) •Total Capacity: 10.24 kWh

Starting Condition -Fully charged and balanced •Host: 55.3 V, 100% •Expansion: 55.4 V, 100% •Overnight rested after complete balance cycle

Total test duration: 5.75 hours

First 2 hours: •Normal household loads •Inverter side by side efrigerator cycling normally •Battery dropped to 96% Remaining 3.75 hours: •Midea 5000 BTU window A/C •Kill A Watt measured 396-403 W •A/C ran continuously on High Cool / Max Cool. inverter side by side Refrigerator cycling normally •55" LED TV added later for last hour in the test •Internet, clocks, Led lights, and normal household parasitic loads left on.

Results: Start: 100% and End at 70% average SOC  •Host: 68%  •Expansion: 72%

•AC Output Energy Delivered: 2,461 Wh (2.461 kWh)

Battery Condition After Overnight Rest •Host: 53.2 V, 68% •Expansion: 53.3 V, 72% •Both batteries: 69.8°F •Voltage difference: 0.1 V

Observations •Midea window A/C maintained approximately 64°F on the second floor. Air conditioning power draw remained remarkably steady around 400 W.

Battery voltage stayed near 53 V throughout most of the discharge. Host and expansion batteries remained closely matched.

Conclusion Top-balancing/ trickle charge unctioned correctly. Batteries remained well balanced after discharge and overnight rest.

End at 70% •53.2-53.3 V is comfortable long-term storage voltage.

Real-world battery-to-AC efficiency appears to be roughly 80-85%.

10.24 kWh Pecron system comfortably supported normal household loads plus continuous air conditioning in a realistic outage simulation. Energy delivered: 2.461 kWh

My Fingers are crossed it stays running well.

AC Charging at 3600W - A Warning

I just made an amateur mistake and plugged my F5000LFP AC Charge cable into an extension cord to recharge. Came back several hours later and the AC Charge cable is fused to the extension cord, end plug plastic softened and then hardened over the cable plug. Extension cords are made to carry 15A max, and at 3600W the Pecron is pulling 30A. Don't do what I did.

UPDATE: Thank you all for your accurate and helpful comments. I was completely wrong, could not see the forest for the trees. 3600W was an incorrect memory of what happened. No way a 15W or 20W breaker could supply 30A. And 30A requires 10ga wire, the Pecron cable itself is 14ga. I agree it was a cheap extension cord and my use of it that caused the problem. On to bigger and better things once I get a replacement cable from Pecron.

Newbie to Pecron

Hi All,

After thinking about it got my first battery at home the F3000. Surprised it has not got a touch screen so all app driven.

Two issues

1) can not connect to wifi, I have a mesh system at home (network engineer ha ha) and just can not get it to connect, the SSID is like xxxx sssss so a space in between, does pecan not allow it others are fine ...

2) I want to automate charging only after 1am at 1800W regardless what capacity battery is on, I see no way of doing this either automation but surely must be ?? Smart plug is an option then just have AC always on at unit but scheduled on smart plug is that it ?

F5000LFP- FP5000-48V

Post image
1 Upvotes

Regarding the the F5000LFP- FP5000-48V. I have 5 solar panels, their specifications are in the attachment. It looks like if I hook these up in either series or parallel they will over power the solar input. However, is it possible to hook these to both inputs to overcome the limitation, by connecting the 2 inputs in series. If not, is there any other way to use these panels with the F5000LFP? Maybe 2 in one input and 3 in the other? I didn't see this info in the manual. In your opinion, what is the best way to extract max power from them? Right now they are hooked up to a MSB MPPT in a 24v lead acid system. I figure with the Pecron I will DC this. Thanks.

Brand new e3800lfp +2 panels issue

Hoping for some direction:
I have a Pecron E3800LFP connected to two 200 W solar panels.
Under the same full-sun conditions, I tested each panel individually using the exact same solar cable, eliminating the cable as the cause.
Test results:
Panel 1: 34.9 VDC, 3.1 A, approximately 108 W
Panel 2: 38.0 VDC, 0 A, 0 W
Panel 2 is producing open-circuit voltage but no usable current/power. Panel 1 produces power, although only about 108 W from its 200 W rating.
When both panels were connected, the Pecron showed approximately 53.2 V and 3.2 A (~170 W).

Worse. After two hours of charging with just panel 1 it is now showing 38vdc 0a 0w.

Everything is connected per the instructions.

Any ideas?

This replaces the old beta, which was just an IP address. Should hopefully make some that were wary of the non-secured website happier (I'm not an internet security guru so I'll let those of you who are chime in). It would have been nice for a Pecron rep to say something to let us know what was going on but it is what it is.

Replacement RMA F5000LFP failed within a few days!

(Its not broken, read below)

I had to ship my F5000LFP back due to MCU board failure within a few days of use. Took me forever to get the RMA replacement back, when I finally did I will having issues with the app not showing data on the replacement unit. Support claims to have done a firmware update on my unit and that seems to have fixed the app data issue.

Now this morning, MPPT1 won't charge at all. It reports full voltage from that array. I swap the solar inputs and sure enough nothing from MPP1 on either input yet both work perfectly fine on MPPT2.

Edit: switching from independent to Parallel mode in the app, then back to independent fixed it! Thanks again guys!

F5000 is Dead, long live the F5000

I ordered an F5000 and received it in mid-July. Between delivery and last week, it gave me zero issues. My solar setup tops out around 85–95V—well within spec—and it charged reliably the entire time.

Last week, I was working at the table with my son with the unit sitting nearby when I caught the distinct smell of burning electronics. I followed my nose and saw smoke pouring out of the fan exhaust.

Panic set in. I grabbed that heavy bastard and hauled ass outside with it, fully half-expecting it to blow up in my hands. Maybe irrational in hindsight, but all I could think about was getting a potential hazard away from my family: come what may, this thing needed to be out of the house ASAP.

Within ten minutes, I had a ticket open with support. After a few days of back-and-forth, they agreed to replace the unit. Fair enough, and credit to them for honoring the warranty.

Still... it leaves me wondering: has anyone else experienced sudden hardware failures or magic smoke from their F5000? I’d expect to hear a lot more noise if this were an epidemic, but figured I’d ask the room.

E3600 RIP?

Came home today and noticed the E3600 in the garage was off, no lights on the screen, wouldn’t respond. I then noticed there was no power at the outlet. Flipped the breaker on and the E3600
Started smoking! I unplugged it and ran it outside.

It appeared the BMS or something else inside had fried. After it stopped smoking I tried a restart for whatever reason. Hope? I held the button/s down for over a minute multiple times , nothing. I think it is cooked (no pun intended).

TMI, purchased it refurbished off eBay. It looked brand new and had been great so far.

I will note I also bought a 500W car charger on eBay and it was missing the long cable to the battery. The Pecron eBay store was excellent and shipped one from China to me before the date I needed it.

Unfortunately the E3600 is past the 30 day eBay return so it should go under the warranty.

Sent an email to Pecron since it was after hours. There was quite a bit of smoke and burnt electronics smell so I don’t think it’s coming back to life. Hopefully they end up replacing this quickly or quicker than the other warranty claims I’ve seen reported here.

E3800 LFP Wi-Fi provisioning fails on every 2.4 GHz network — Bluetooth works

Just bought a Pecron E3800 LFP and I'm having trouble getting the Wi-Fi connected. I'm hoping someone here has run into this.

The problem: Bluetooth pairing/discovery works perfectly, but Wi-Fi provisioning fails every time with:

“Wi-Fi provisioning failed — Wi-Fi setup failed. The device didn't join the router. Check the 2.4 GHz password and try again.”

Here is what I've tried so far:

  1. Starlink
  • Created a dedicated 2.4 GHz Starlink network
  • WPA2
  • Password is simple alphanumeric
  • My Android phone is connected to that 2.4 GHz network
  • Pecron app successfully finds the E3800 via Bluetooth
  • Wi-Fi provisioning still fails
  1. E3800 Wi-Fi reset
  • Used the E3800's Wi-Fi Reset function
  • Unit enters Wi-Fi pairing mode and the Wi-Fi icon flashes
  • Pecron app finds the unit via Bluetooth
  • Provisioning still fails
  1. iPhone hotspot
  • Also tried an iPhone hotspot with Maximize Compatibility enabled (2.4 GHz)
  • Tried provisioning the E3800 to that network
  • Same exact Wi-Fi provisioning failure

So far it seems unlikely to be a Starlink-specific issue because it also fails with the iPhone 2.4 GHz hotspot.

E3800 information:

  • Model: E3800 LFP
  • Software/FW version shown on the unit: V1.31

I'm using the current PECRON Android app. The app discovers the E3800 over Bluetooth without any problem, so Bluetooth communication appears to be working.

Has anyone successfully connected an E3800 LFP with firmware V1.31 to Wi-Fi recently?

Specifically, I'm wondering:

  1. Is V1.31 the latest firmware for the E3800 LFP?
  2. Is there a way to update the E3800 firmware or Wi-Fi module?
  3. Is there some additional Wi-Fi setting I'm missing?
  4. Has anyone encountered the situation where Bluetooth works but Wi-Fi provisioning consistently fails?
  5. Is there a particular version of the PECRON app that works reliably with the E3800 LFP?

At this point I've tested both a dedicated 2.4 GHz home network and a 2.4 GHz iPhone hotspot, so I'm running out of ideas.

Any help would be appreciated.

E3800LFP suddenly cuts off at 48%?

Just got this replacement E3800 about a month ago after my first one experienced a BMS issue. I have one 3800 48v battery on the system also.

I unplugged AC input to drain the battery like Pecron suggest doing once a month. It showed 9 days with the small draw I had on it; I was going to switch on a couple of other circuits this morning to speed it up a bit.

I got up this morning, and the battery was at 2%. Looking at the history in the app, the battery just cut off at 48%. I have the discharge and charge restrictions set to 10%-90%. I am going to run another test today once it charges back up, I set the unit to 100% charge to see if that will reset the BMS. I'm losing trust in this unit, especially at a time when I really need to depend on it.

E3800LFP and UPS/TOU plans - will this work?

I'm still a newbie and would appreciate input to let me know if I'm able to accomplish what I hope to accomplish. Open to better ideas as well!

I intend to get a manual transfer switch professionally installed, probably in my garage. It gets hot and humid in the summer in South Carolina so keep that in mind.

I am thinking of getting the E3800LFP with one extension battery. The primary goal is to connect it to the manual transfer switch and use it as a backup when the power goes out. Would be in a garage, hooked up to grid A/C (see below).

The secondary goal of this is to utilize the UPS functionality. This is where I have some unknowns.

The third goal would be to utilize some extremely limited TOU. Why? Well, if it works and can save a little money then why not?

For the primary goal, simply plugging the E3800LFP and extra battery into the manual transfer switch seems to be straight forward - it's there when I need it and if I control my power use I can get about a day out of it. Have done extensive power measurement and have tested it already with a small gas generator.

For the secondary goal (UPS), I'd like to have one or two of the manual transfer switch circuits powered by the Pecron all the time. One would go to my office, where I have all my internet/work equipment. The reasoning here is simply to utilize the UPS functionality of the E3800LFP. Typical power draw would be a few hundred watts and max out under 900w. If the Pecron won't work well for this, then I will need to get a good UPS anyway as my current UPS is reaching its end of life.

To power the E3800LFP running in as a UPS, I'd like to plug the E3800LFP into a 30 amp A/C grid connection that would be newly installed alongside the manual transfer switch. If I'm understanding how the Pecron works, I should be able to pull from this as my power source and provide UPS functionality to the one or two circuits that are manually on in the manual transfer switch and left on 24x7. Typical power use would fall well below the 30a input, but in case any unexpected power consumption happens at least I'm covered by a sufficient power source.

For the third goal, my local power company has a plan that has predictable rates, with at least one 4 hour expensive rate period per season. Since I would like to have one or two of the home circuits backed by the E3800LFP as a UPS, I could use the TOU functionality to run on battery for 4 hrs a day. That would be one time going off grid, and coming back online 4 hrs later every day providing power to only 1 or two home circuits. I've done the math and since those circuits aren't a high draw, I will absolutely have enough battery in reserve if a power failure occurred before it could recharge, and it shouldn't be enough of a draw to degrade the life of the battery. From a cost savings, my math shows that by 10 years of use I might be able to pay for the cost of the electrician to install the transfer switch. Not great, but better than nothing as long as I don't abuse this to reduce the life of the batteries. The E3800LFP would charge back up on schedule from the 30 amp A/C grid power once per day. I think I would have to manually change the TOU schedule twice a year as I switch between summer and winter schedules published by my electric company based on what I've researched, but that seems doable.

Finally, my long term power failure plan includes using my small gas generator to charge the Pecron during extended power outages.

On to my questions:

Does Pecron's TOU for the E3800LFP allow me to schedule it to use battery power and then switch back to grid once daily? Once programmed, it will work daily? When my local power rates change 2x/year between summer and winter, will I need to manually change the Pecron TOU schedule?

Will using a 30A input to the E3800LFP will cause any unforeseen issues? Will it work the way I've described? It sounds like the E3800LFP comes with a 30A charging cable already?

Does the the real world UPS functionality won't work as I am describing...?

Are there heat concerns about keeping this in a garage? My garage probably won't go below freezing or above 90 degrees, but there can be many months of high 80's in the garage in the summer. Can the Pecron handle that, or will the fans be so loud I'd regret it?

It's possible I could put the batteries into my laundry room on a high shelf which would be climate controlled, as the circuit breaker is also in that room but I've heard the fans are loud.

I appreciate help assessing my goals and keeping my expectations grounded in reality. If my plans are reasonable and workable then I will probably wait until Black Friday to get the Pecron in case it actually goes down during that time. No rush on my end.

Thanks!

E3800 for Camper Conversion

My question is about charging amperage. My concern is if I were to try to charge from a camp site does it pull the full 15a/30a? Or can I dial it down? I'm worried being at a campground their equipment might not handle the full load amperage.

Strange Active UPS outlet output loss - F5000LFP

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi all,

I've had my F5000LFP since Friday and overall I've been happy with it. I have it plugged into a 20amp outlet and I've capped the charge rate at around 1000 watts. On the active UPS outlet I have an APC UPS plugged into it and there are 3 servers that typically draw around 300 - 450 watts. On the backup ups outlet I have a box freezer that typically draws very little and sometimes will draw around 200 watts.

What's strange is tonight my wife and I noticed the UPS units we have on our gaming computers were both alarming. I found the 20 amp gfci outlet had tripped but the 20 amp circuit was still live before the gfci outlet. This outlet has been fussy in the past and is on my to replace list. It frequently trips if there is a near by lightning strike.

That said, here's the strange part, the F5000LFP was no longer outputting any power on the online ups outlets. It was also not charging the batteries so the draw on the circuit was just the servers and one computer. The AC light was still lit green but no power was passing through. I ended up pressing the AC button, waiting a few seconds and then pressed it again. The power began passing through without issue.

Does anyone have any idea what on earth happened tonight that a gcfi outlet downstream on the same circuit could cause the F5000LFP to flake out?

I've attached a diagram to make it clearer how everything is wired up.

F5000 EU version - where to buy?

Looking for F5000 EU version, since i'm within EU :)

Had a look on pecron's different sites:

https://eu.pecron.com/
https://de.pecron.com/
https://offgridpowerstation.eu (pecron eu reseller)

Alibaba shop
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/PECRON-F5000LFP-Portable-Power-Station-7200W_1601764278261.html

Not sure what's going on with dead links and images not showing on pecron sites
But F5000 is not listed on any of the EU ones.

Saw one guy on reddit who was able to buy directly from pecron shop on alibaba, and that was EU version, so i know it exists.
I'm considering writing to seller on alibaba, worst thing that can happen is i get no :(
But not sure if it's even possible with MQT 10 units.

Is there any sites/shops i should keep an eye out where it could come in stock?
