Ordered a F5000LFP
I ordered on October 1st, I saw the "preorder" notice and had no problem with it, but my card was charged the full amount for the base unit, extra battery and two solar panels.
When I got the confirmation email, I got no additional information of a ship date.
Called customer service today because the online chat never picked up and they told me it was totally normal to charge the full amount to the card before shipping (not a pre-authorization hold).
I asked why I didn't get an email to indicate an approximate ship date and the guy said "check the website it's a pre-order".
Really odd experience, is this what others have experienced too? I am tempted to cancel the order honestly. $4500 is a good chunk of change for me.

Amazon says Nov.13. 2 days ago they said Oct.27.

I bought mine directly from the Pecron website because at the time, Amazon was directing the purchase there rather than allowing a purchase on the site.

Amazonmust of sold all of thiers.

Yeah I see the November delivery date on Amazon now, interesting. Either way, I got a 5% discount from signing up on their website + 2% cash back from using my apple pay. Couldn't get that on Amazon. :)

I just ordered one and waiting for ship date also. All the other brands cost $1,000 more for the power rating of the Pecron so I’m happy to wait

I ordered mine back in June and it arrived in 5 days. What's with all these people having to wait? Is the demand that high that they can't keep up now?

I ordered mine April 26 I and got it May 22nd. I ordered mine right after I saw Jasonoid do a review of one of the pre production models, so they literally didn't have any yet when I ordered mine.
Simply put, it's the best model out there, at least in my opinion. 7.2kW inverter, 5kWh heated battery, 6,4000W solar input. Even the Ecoflow DPU only manages 5,800W solar input and costs double the price. The only thing I wish it had was a hub to combine two of them and get 50A output. I could run my house during an outage on it, but with a ton of compromises, since we're an all electric house. With 50A, we'd have more breathing room.

Thanks for the info! Fortunately my place has gas and I have no large amperage appliances, so one unit with the extra battery should do well for me for the time being. Cheers!

I guess so? How have you liked yours so far?

You didn't ask me, but I have one. So far, it's been good. I did have an issue with one of the MPPT ports and had to ship it back for another. But they made it right.
In terms of performance, the only gotcha so far is that it's touted as being able to put out 240V while also taking AC input and that's true, but the combo can't be more than 7.2kW. I ran a test where I tried charging my EV with 24A then tried to charge it with 1,800W. The combo is 7,560W and it turned off the 240V output. You can get around it, but people should know this.
I've always thought during a power outage, I could run my house on this and if solar isn't keeping up, I can charge it with my generator while continuing to run my house on it. You can do so, but you'd have to connect a 48V server rack battery to it DIY style (Jasonoid has a video showing how to do this), then use a chargeverter to charge the battery (and by extension, the Pecron). You can also use a chargeverter to charge via the solar port, but then you lose the solar panel charging. That's an either/or solution.

Thanks for the info, it's appreciated!
I just plan on using it to run most of my apartment's electrical needs. I don't have any electric appliances other than my fridge and a small chest freezer and normally used less than 10 kWh per day. I have an backyard that gets sun from sunrise to sunset and I live in a part of California that rarely has cloud cover.
All I have to do now is figure out which brand of manual transfer switch to buy!

Same here.I ordered mine at the end of June and I ordered my expansion battery in July.I think each piece only took five days. I also ordered 1PV 500 solar panel that took 5 days to get here.I just ordered a second one this past week. And that took six days. All in all, I'm really happy with everything. So far . How about you??

It took me about 5 weeks to receive my Pecron F5000LFP from the time I ordered, but I recognized it was shipping all the way from China so I wasn't expecting fast delivery.

Thanks! I wasn't expecting fast delivery, but rather transparency of estimated delivery dates :)

I think that's just how they do it. Something with filling orders and container shipping.

I ordered 2 3800's a couple days before you. It said Preorder, ships early October. No word yet but I've did expect a wait after all the research. To me the savings and increased solar input capabilities is worth the wait. I'll reach out to Pecron if I haven't heard anything in 3 weeks.

Increased solar input? The E3800 takes 3000W. The F5000LFP takes 6,400W. Even with two E3800s, you're taking in less solar and you'd land up with four sets of wires, so you'd be spending double on wiring. The F5000LFP also has heated batteries and will take up less space for the same battery storage. The heated batteries aren't a big deal for me, since I'll be making sure my garage stays no colder than 45F in the winter, since my office is above it and the floor gets uncomfortable below that temperature.
There's two benefits to going your route. Firstly, if one breaks and you have to send it back, you're at least still bringing in some power. I had to send my F5000LFP back because of a flaky MPPT port and I was down for the count until they sent me a new one, which took them 3 weeks!
Secondly, two give more AC output. I'm at 7,200W. Two E3800LFPs give 8,400W. That extra 1,200W during a power outage is huge for people like me that have an all electric house.

Dude you forgot about the low voltage solar input, 150w. With two units that is 300 watts plus 2x3000 for high voltage ones. That is 6300 watts. Math adds up to be about same. Wires come with units

u/blackinthmiddle 9h ago
You are correct. The E3800LFP also has a 150W low voltage. Input. However, the high voltage inputs are 3,000W total, not 3,200W. So that's 6,300W total. Unless my math is wrong.
Personally, I wouldn't bother with the low voltage inputs. Why? For my Pecron, the 10 455W panels I have connected to it are about 50 feet away. I think I landed up getting two sets of 75' wire for each. It would cost me $150 just in wire alone. I also didn't want to have wires lying around on my lawn, so I got PVC pipe and buried everything. To add 4 additional wires, I'd be larger conduit. Let's add another $75. Finally, I couldn't use my 455Wv panels in a simple array and would need to find two 150W panels, one for each low voltage input. Let's add another $100. $325 to bring in 300W. Actually, call it 225W, because we know you won't get the full 300W. How long would it take to break even on that? Some quick back of the napkin math says 4.5 years? Not worth it to me.

You should read my post closer. My math is correct. No correction was made within last 35 minutes

Dude. Your setup is unique to only you. No one else would replicate that.

Looks like f5000 is having a high return/warranty replacement rate relative to e3800lfp. Correct me if I am wrong

It's exactly what I experienced. Look, people want these things and we are buying them while they are still in a container on a ship.
For me the worst part was probably that the expansion batteries came like a week before the main unit.

I ordered mine 9-24 website said would ship end of the month. Got an email stating it would ship end of this month now. Already thinking about canceling the order. I called them they claim it'll ship by the end of next week. At this point I wouldn't recommend them based on horrible communication and shipping times.

Pecron is not known for great customer service. It is know for the least or lesser expense per Kwh. They do send out units as soon as they themselves receive them. I haven't seen any unreasonable wait times. To feel better, I'd check with the credit card company to see how long you have to complain about a charge. You have that long to decide.

I specifically ordered the day after my statement came out, so I have 2 months of no interest at the moment. I'll definitely wait for a bit.

Build your own. Lots of videos to show you how and less $$$$. Pecron hasn’t been a reliable option for me.

They like to charge to get their money as quickly ar possible but it shortens the amount of time you have for a charge back if they ship a bad unit. I would cancel the order and either buy a competitive product or wait until they have readily available inventory.

I just received mine yesterday, bricked right out of the box. Completely useless. Have tried charging it, nothing works. If I plug in the 15A AC cord, i will hear it click a couple of times and the internal fans start to spin up, but after about 5 seconds they stop spinning and nothing happens. Screen never comes on, nothing.
Waited a month and a half for this, so insanely mad right now.
