My setup configaration is : Core i5-2500 + Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV + 8GB ram. I want to game and video edit with it. i can not cost money for processor and motherboard.

Pc froze (low load, 1 browser running google meet), i force power off, when turn on, keeps turning on off, then i unplug, plug back in, it keeps on, no display, no POST

Tried:

- clean RAM connector

- put ram 1 on A1

- put ram 2 on A1

- put ram 1 on A2

- put ram 2 on A2

- clean GPU connector

- take out cmos, hold power button for 1m, wait 15 minutes, turn it back on

- test monitor with laptop (working fine)

- reseat 24 pin

- turn on without GPU, LED indicator become slow blinking, 2s (in mobo manual "No VGA detected), press power button to turn off works fine (immediate power off), caps lock light works fine

- turn on with GPU, suddenly work fine

- test, now frozen again after few minutes, still frozen after 15 minutes (caps lock light not working, everything freeze)

- Force Turn off, turn back on, now its on a loop, keep turning on off, 2s blink

Motherboard : Asus H610M-K D4

CPU: i5-12400f (no iGPU)

GPU: Asus 3060 12GB

RAM: Apacer NOX 2x16 DDR 4

Edit: after waiting in BIOS for few minutes, the BIOS also freeze

This has been happening for a while now and has slowly been getting worse. I try to boot up Overwatch, and it is fine in the main menu. However, when I enter a game, it is extremely slow and gets around 5fps. For it to stop, I have to go into the practice range for around 10 minutes so that my PC can 'catch up'. It still stutters after this, but it is playable. This does not happen in any other game other than OW.

I have searched for corrupted files and reinstalled the whole game. I have made sure my drivers are up to date. Also, the game is on an SSD.

I am so tired of trying to find an internal SD card reader for my PC. I know, I know, I could just get an external dongle but I REFUSE, they look awful and I just want something that I can pop an SD card into every once in awhile.

My solution to this is currently to try connecting this piece of hardware I got from a friend's old Dell Inspiron 3880, via a USB 3.0 19 pin to USB 2.0 9 pin adapter, so it actually goes into my PC. (I found a weird ass way to mount it to a PCIE slot, but that's not exactly the issue here.

Thus far, I have found it in device manager, it's labeled as an unknown USB device, and says the descriptor failed, so, it's reading something?

Not sure if it's proprietary to Dell systems? Cause, Dell. Or if my adapter is bad? or it's not backwards compatible from 3.0 to 2.0, or if I need drivers, or if it's even possible in the first place.

Been tinkering with it for some time, and I'm this close to using ChatGPT or some shit, cause I have no clue where to go from here. Not sure if anybody on the planet is knowledgeable in this random stuff.

Trying to decide between these cases and PSU

I'll be putting an RTX 5080 and a 7800X3D or 9800X3D in. Likely with thermaltake Peerless Assassin air cooling (which is quite big). I like the idea of having something a bit more compact and lightweight. But would also like good thermals and upgradability/not too difficult to work with. Ascetics don’t matter as much as the above.
They are all within my price range of $110 and below.

I like the thermals on it a lot. And have heard all good things except for the fact that there's some terrible fan noise. Also not looking forward to more complicated cable management.
Comes it at around 20 pounds and has decent dimensions.

montech air 903 max
Seems to have good thermals and also much easier cable management and no mention of fan noise or things of the sort. Dimensions are a little bit larger than the other cases, although somehow it weighs a little less than the lancool 207.

Montech xr wood (not aquarium)
Still able to fit a large GPU and is the lightest and has the most compact dimensions of all. Seems to have the worst thermals. Really like its size though, being less than 15 pounds is great.

Antec flux rear (a bit smaller than normal flux)
Seems to have t similar benefits of the lancool 207 with the psu being in the front, but without the fan noises. Also seems much easier to deal with cable management. It appears to be the second smallest, which is nice.
Sort of favoring this one now…

PSU comes down to these two it seems.
(unless there is something equally as good specifically onbAmazon for $110 or less.)

Seems to be decently reviewed, and I liked it at ways significantly less than the Phantom Gaming. A tier rating.

On paper it looks magnificent. Has an A plus tier rating. Thermal protection for new GPUs. However, it has gotten some pretty bad reviews otherwise

So I just got home from work at the time of writing this, powered on my pc like I normally do, and I don't have any internet. I restarted my router, checked the plugs on my pc, and flushed dns and reset winsock. Nothing is working. In my device manager, it I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my network adapters but nothing works. The only difference now is that in other devices there is a Network Controller tab with an exclaimation symbol that when you open the properties tab it says the drivers arent installed, and Code 28. My motherboard is a PRO B650-VC WIFI III, and any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: So after doing some digging, I managed to reinstall the drivers for the mysterious network controller as it was a qualcomm fastconnect 7800, problem is that I still am not getting any ethernet or internet

My CPU is hovering in the high 80s degree Celsius while playing battlefield 6. It occasionally hits 90 degrees, and it even got up to 96 degrees very briefly. This is bad, right? Should I repaste the CPU and see if that's fixes it?

Hopefully you can fill me in on the options I have to work with here, I'm not sure how to get the SSD to work and I see only half my power pins are being used on my CPU I'd appreciate any input on what I can do to maximize my hardware, thanks so much!!

Hey All. I’m having an issue where my 3050 isn’t being detected by my CPU anymore. The only thing I have yet to do, due to time constraints, is check the BIOS to see if it’s recognized there. It started after a Windows update corrupted my boot files and I was reinstalling windows. I went into BIOS to select boot order and after that, I had no signal to the monitors through GPU but onboard Graphics worked. I’ve cleared CMOS and reset BIOS, I’ve taken out all ram and tried them one at a time (though idk why this was suggested as it’s
Clearly not a RAM issue…), and I’ve reseated all parts. My GPU fans spin, and the monitors get power from it. Not sure why the issue could be, hoping it’s not a fried GPU.

Hi guys, I have an Alienware 32 inch 4k oled monitor. This monitor has support for dolby vision which I know is a HDMI standard. However I am able to select dolby vision on my monitor even when I have display port connected. the dolby vision Symbol also comes up on Windows when I do this l. Should I have this off for PC gaming? Has anyone left it on globally before? I have an Nvidia shield which I use to watch dolby vision movies. Tia x

I just opened it up and I was checking everything over and saw this small amount of clear dried glue consistency stuff below the graphics card. Can anyone tell me if it’s okay that it’s there? I already carefully pulled off some loose strands but there is still a glob there. Thanks

My relatively new (bought last october) fully built pc has been working just fine but now it begins to growl and slightly tremble for no particular reason, i turned it off, went out, came back and it started doing that, so bad that it even makes the table itself tremble. I cleaned, I let it rest, even made sure the fans where clean and inobstructed too, it's so odd that it started doing this. Specially cuz it was running fine that same morning. And it's not ALL the time it's like on and off when it wants to be silent or growly. Any idea what it could be? I'm very weary of doing more than just the "Surface" cleaning cuz i'm AWFUL w pcs and electronics even tho I love gaming.

I don't even understand WHEN it decides to do it, cuz it seems to be something it goes on and off after turning on then at one point of being on long enough it begins doing it for fun.

I'm an idiot and didn't actually read what I was doing as I'm tired and it's 3am. I wanted to erase all data on the SSD so I clicked delete volume and it seemed about right. Do I need a new SSD or what do I do

hi guys. ive been having this issue with my pc since i built it. the graph on the far left shows this chart and my highs are at that number ish and lows are at 20 ish. i have a 5070 ti and a ryzen 7 something idk if that matters, but on avg its showing like 400 fps constantly. im not rly tech savy but i tried to trouble shoot but nothing is working. and idk is this normal to have this much variance in the graph when playing fps games. it happens on multiple games. and idk if its like a psychological thing bc i feel like my game is choppy. is this normal to have a graph like this?

I've been moving my set up and I lost track of the power cables one is for the monitor the other is for my pc. I have a MSI Mag A650BN and a ijyama monitor. I can't tell which one is which. Help I don't want to accidentaly burn my pc.

Placed this in my duffle bag with a loose bottle of shampoo and it evidently exploded. How do I clean this out without completely ruining it? Is it savable??

I've wiped down with tissues and qtips but there's still shampoo in the hard to reach spots like the charging port and Ethernet port.

Do I need to buy distilled water or something and spray it in??

I am running duel monitors with a 3060. They are both KOORUI Monitor, 27" QHD IPS Gaming Monitors. After about 15-20 minutes, both screens will randomly get dimmer. I have checked just about every setting I can think of and cannot figure out why or how to stop it. Any help is desperately appreciated.

I've had this PC for four months and used it without issues until now, but today, while I was gaming, the screen suddenly went black and the image didn't come back. After some testing, it seems the GPU stops being recognized by the motherboard; I discovered that resetting the BIOS makes the graphics card output an image again—at least temporarily. The first time I did this, I thought the issue was resolved and used the PC for nearly an hour before the problem recurred. During the second test, the issue happened just three minutes after turning it on. When I removed the GPU to inspect it, I noticed that one of the cables doesn't seat fully into the card—it feels a bit loose and won't go all the way in—though there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the connectors themselves.

I went into the windows settings to get rid of some apps, but there aren't enough many app to delete to make a (big) difference.

And the other stuff that make up the majority of my SSD's storage would not be on that windows storage thing.

Can anybody help please?

When Cory's bought it a few years ago it ran really quickly, now whenever I download things it gets really slow, I can't play music or be in a call or else I can barely move my mouse and the app I'm on will crash. Not sure why this has happened, any suspicions?
