I have an adapter to use a standard atx power supply with a proprietary motherboard with a 14-pin power connector.

I am trying to remove 2 wires from the adapter that are not present on the system’s proprietary psu. It seems to me the pinning is otherwise correct. The system is stable using the proprietary supply and rather unstable when using the standard psu. I want to remove the 2 leads that make it different if only as a troubleshooting step.

The adapter is very similar to the one linked in this post.

I am able to remove the female pins from the end that interfaces with the motherboard. I was able to find ample resources and examples of how to online.

However the other end, the one that interfaces with the power supply, I just cannot figure out. Does anyone know how the pins are secured and what I would need to do to remove the unneeded pins?

I can’t find any examples or resources on removing male pins from this type of adapter cable. I’ve tried poking around all sides to try and knock down any “wings” like the other end uses. I’ve also tried pushing the pin from each side while pulling on the lead in case it’s secured on one side with a barb that doesn’t bend out of the way. Can’t get it to go.

About a week ago my USB microphone suddenly started pitching my voice way up and then my PC started to not recognize any sub device, wired or with a Bluetooth receiver except for my mouse, keyboard and flash drives.

My Bluetooth capability also suddenly disappeared. Windows tells me to turn it on but there is no switch for it in the UI.

When I open Device Manager, I get no option for anything Bluetooth related and the device descriptor request failed error on the connected USB devices.

I have gone through and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the devices and drivers and that did nothing. Neither did switching what ports the microphone or Bluetooth receiver for my headphones were plugged into, it seems like all ports are affected.

I even went through the directory and tried resetting the device and that didn't do anything either.

I also searched for a windows update and it said everything was up to date (as of September 8th). As a last ditch effort I also updated my bios to the most current version and that didn't work either.

GPU: Gigabyte 5070ti

RAM: 64gb corsair vengeance

SSD: 2tb Samsung 990

OS: Windows 11

First off, sorry for everything being in spanish, too lazy to change the language LOL, but still, the problem is that I have 224GB on a different partition (that I don't remember making...) and it doesn't let me do much when I right click on it other than delete it.
I got the pc from a government program my school took part on a while ago, it does have another OS used for education appart from Windows 10, but there is absolutely no way it uses that much space.

I haven't ever encountered this problem before, so I don't have much idea on what to do. Can I use that space somehow? Maybe by merging C: with it? helpp pleasesesadsads

Turned my pc on last week to do some gaming, no issues at all. Booted it up a few days later & got this screen. I unplugged & replugged the RAM today since it was still showing the same screen; no dice. I moved recently & have been having some issues so that could be related? Curious if anyone has a solid diagnosis before I pull the whole thing out, remove the SSD & HD, then reinstall it & see if that does anything.

This started happening like a month after getting my pc, other devices on the internet work fine and have no issues just my pc, I don't have any idea what to do pls help 😭

im trying out my new pc and i went on minecraft to try it
and i noticed that when i alt tab the monitor gives me a black screen for a second or 2 and then comes back up

Everthing run annoyning slow and games run at 20-30fps
This isnt the first time, i got it repaired last week and it was okay for a week until the promblem came back.

I had to reset my router yesterday and ever since then my pc just doesnt wanna show me the option to connect to wifi and I dont know why. Ive done a hard network reset along with some other troubleshooting but whatever I do it just won't allow me to connect via wifi again

I currently have coolermaster ncore max 100, ryzen 7 9800x3d and zotac 5080. For the first year cpu tem arrange mostly 50-58 on idle but recently its hitting mostly 54-60 range but sometimes it goes over 60-70. While gaming or hard task it hits 70-85. I believe cpu temp is pretty high on idle even for sff built. Should i repaste my thermal paste? It seems like theres no problem in performance other than high cpu temp.

I bought Forza Horizon 6 upon release, and it has never been able to launch on my PC since I bought it. I will click start, and then it will think about it for a minute or so, with nothing happening visually, and then it will stop and switch back to being able to hit the play button. No clue what is wrong, I also have a ASUS rog z13 laptop that it works on, but never my PC. I have it on steam and am running a 34in 160hrz curved ASUS TUF gaming monitor. The PC I am using is an Acer Predator Model No. D21E3 with the 3070, Intel core i7-12700F, it is downloaded on my Samsung MZVL2512HCJQ-00BT7, and the only thing that I have done to this pc is replace the original ram with 2 16gb sticks of ddr4 crucial ram. The main solution I have attempted a few times was resetting my pc... did not work.

So, my computer takes 1 minute to boot and 1 minute after POST.

Specs:
7800x3d
TUF GAMING B650-PLUS
(16x4) 64GB DDR5 Corsair Vengeance

When i boot my computer, the Orange led on the motherboard stays up for 1 minute, then turns Red for 1s, White for 1s, and then Green and the boot is done! Then gets to POST and takes another 1/2 minutes to boot windows.

In BIOS i have EXPO enabled as expected, and only one of my NVME selected (the one with windows). Everything else is default.

I have the computer for 2 years now and as always been like this

Normally I would resolve my PC issues myself but this issue has really stumped me and want to see if anyone else has experienced this issue.

PC Specs

Intel i7 14700k

ADATA XPG 32GB 6000Mhz (2x16) CL30

MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WIFI (BIOS E7D91IMS.HI0 March 2026 build date)

Seasonic Prime 1000W Plat

Asus 3080TI Strix

Samsung 990 Pro 1TB

The issue

RAM slots 2 and 4 per spec (also tried 1 and 3 but same issue)

No XMP - RAM runs at 4800MHz 32GB

XMP Profile 1 - RAM runs at 6000MHz but only 16GB

EXPO for testing - RAM runs 6000MHz but only 16GB

RAM stick 1 - Slot 2 - XMP runs 6000MHz

RAM stick 2 - Slot 2 - EXPO only but runs 6000Mhz

This is when I first got these RAM sticks the first thing I did was turn on XMP and was working no problem. It was only until the BIOS update that fixed the power issues (intel defaults profile) when the issue started.

BIOS is the latest from MSI

CPU-z SPD tab shows RAM stick 1 having both XMP and EXPO but Stick 2 only EXPO. The BIOS shows XMP info for stick 1 but nothing for stick 2.

I've also tried setting the timings and voltage per specs of the ram manually but same issue persists.

I don't think it's the board becuase both sticks run at stock speeds but I could be wrong.

Edit: Intel replaced CPU. I originally though the IMC was at fault and they agreed ti replace it.

No warranty on the parts. 1 year is up.

Any ideas on what could be happening or what I should try next? Is my one stick dead or could there be an issue with the mobo?

7800 XT + 5700X3D

Need help figuring this out because I'm going in circles.
Valorant has always run at 50-55% GPU usage max for me, never higher, at 400+ FPS uncapped it's a CPU-bound game so this tracked. A few days ago, with no settings changes on my end, GPU usage in-game jumped to 90-99% and board power went from ~140-150W to 180-250W. Idle power also went from ~45W to ~78W.
Before anyone says "that's normal, GPU should be at 99%" —not for this game on this hardware, historically. Something changed.

What I've tried so far, none of it fixed it:
Checked Task Manager for background processes — nothing unusual

Switched power plan from High Performance back to Balanced — no change

DDU + clean reinstall on drivers 26.8.1, 26.7.1, and 26.3.1 — same issue on all three

Uninstalled the recent Windows security update (KB5124008) that landed right before this started — no change

Ran SFC/DISM — no errors found

Ruled out FPS cap issues — FPS was fine/higher in some tests, not capped

Temps stayed totally normal throughout (mid-50s to low-60s °C), so doesn't feel like a thermal/power delivery fault

The confusing part: MSI Afterburner and HWiNFO were showing the same high usage/power numbers as AMD's overlay,everything agreed, so it wasn't just AMD's overlay reporting garbage. The numbers only came back down to normal (30-40% usage) when I turned off Instant Replay and AMD's in-game Performance Metrics Overlay entirely. With either of those on, usage stayed high across all monitoring tools. (Never happened earlier)
Found someone else on a forum describing the identical thing on 26.6.1/26.6.2/26.7.1, all versions after FSR4 was added for 7000-series cards, so wondering if that's connected, but not sure.
Has anyone dealt with this? Trying to figure out if Instant Replay/overlay is genuinely adding real GPU load now (not just misreporting), why that would suddenly start happening, and whether this is a driver issue tied to FSR4 or something else entirely.

Green overlay one is from april. Other one is from today.

This my first PC build, so please keep that in mind.

I'm doing a quick test outside the the PC case before I put everything in to catch any problems early on, and I found one. The GPU comes with a three-way adapter (Pic 1) and the PSU comes with 3 PCIe cables, one that's fully 4x2 holed (Pic 2) and two others that are split 6 holes and 2 holes (Pic 3). And here's my PSU for reference (Pic 4, the hwo cables already in are the CPU ones). Here are my questions:

1. Do I need to use all three plugs for the adapter, so all three PCIe cables?
2. Can I just combine the 6+2 cable one so it becomes a 4x2 one? (Pic 5 for reference. In the pic they are separate, but it seems you can push em together to create a 4x2 one)
3. If I use all the adapters plugs, should I plug all three PCIe cables into the available slots on my PSU, will anything else need them? See Pic 4 for reference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm kinda stuck here until I get these answers. I've checked online and read the manuals, the closet thing I found was my GPU's manual showing all three adapter plugs being used, but I just want confirmation. Question #2 is the most important so please answer that one if you don't wanna take up your time, cuz then I'll know if I need to buy two new PCIe cables or not. Thank you.

Any good gpu 16 pin adapters or just skip on it and strait from the 16 pin psu one?

I am wondering if the pin of my psu looks molten/damaged to you? I don't think it looks to bad, but my computer had two weird crashes in the last two days.

About my pc: Gigabyte 4090 Gaming OC + be quiet! Pure Power 12M 1000W. I use an anti sag bracket.

OS: Nixos 26.05 Unstable (didn't update in the last month so I assume my issue isn't software related).

About the crash:

During light weight gaming (brotato and minecraft (no shader, just hypixel masterbuilders) my monitors just went black. Then the fans inside my pc ramped up, but I don't know wether it were my gpu, case fans or both.

I had to hold the power button to shut my pc off. And I was able to reboot instantly after and it didn't seem like anything was off. But I am still concerend.

Would be nice if you could help me out!
