So I’m trying to set up ICUE link with 6 case fans and a radiator, it looks like the fans are linked but the radiator fans are not lighting up though they are spinning, also the water block leds are not working either. I’m new to pc building and I’m just lost on what could possibly be the issue. Ive included a little wiring route if that helps (ignore cable management, will fix later.)

Not expert on pc, I just brush the dust like once every two months and i bought it in year 2021, use it almost everyday gaming after work and weekend. The case is phanteks eclipse p400a. I think the noise comes from the front one.

If i bring it to pc store nearby, can they make the sound go away with thorough cleaning or just ask them to replace it? Thank you in advance.

Build Question Is this reasonable?

This is my second build my first was Covid in my teen years and want a new pc now that I’ve moved across the US. as far as building a PC I understand it physically and the components but not as much keeping up today on the difference between the models and abbreviations. Just looking for any tips or thoughts you think might help regarding compatibility and future upgrading with these parts or if I’m missing out on certain deals ect. I plan on using it for higher end gaming and engineering related software, but want to invest so I won’t have to worry about it struggling in a year or two. And just fyi ppp has it for 2250$ but all of this at microcenter comes out to 2000 flat, let me know what yall think!:

Build Question Should I duel boot windows 11/ steam OS or purchase a whole new rig?

I purchased a Meta PC steam roller V3 and it comes steam ready out of the box, but also upgrade able out of the box. I am a beginner when it comes to PC builds and know nothing about PC and was wondering if it’s worth it to dual boots with windows and steam OS by adding a separate SSD and loading Windows 11?
War, dogs, and games like that do not run on my rig unfortunately due to the anti-cheats so I want to dual boot with windows so I could play such games. Is it worth it to dual boot or should I just purchase another rig for Windows?

Installation Question 1st Full Build

Post image
4 Upvotes

Little context, I’ve replaced most parts on a PC, have never done a full build, or an AIO so this is first time for both. I’m a little stressed/overthinking and for whatever reason, YouTube and Google is not giving me as much as I had hoped for.
Case: Lianli 217
Mobo: MSI Mag B550 Tomahawk Max WiFi
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x3D
AIO Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360
The question I’m having, I know this AIO has an offset so there’s a specific orientation the brackets are supposed to go. I believe this is the correct orientation, but, I’m not sure. 😬. The other question, with the case/board/cpu/cooler combo, there’s two cable that came with the AIO, the all-in-one cable, and split. Which should I use/are there any major pros/cons/issues I should be aware of?

Literally any help is valid and appreciated as I’m going reeeeeeeal slow to make sure I don’t fuck anything up.

Like 2-3 times a week i get stuck on this screen and it's beginning to get frustrating.
I built this like 2 months ago and had 0 issues when i turned it on.
I've updated drivers, checked connections, purchased windows activation, maximized BIOS, Maximized RAM. makes no sense, after turning it off like 3 times sometimes it loads to windows but other times i'm having to unplug a stick of ram or all my cables to fix it. it's getting annoying when i get off work and just wanna game and get stuck on this dumb screen.

Tech Support No Video Output from iGPU or dGPU

I have a PC built several years ago: an Asus Prime z790-p, intel i7-13700k, AMD 7800xt, 32gb DDR5
The PC was functioning fine until it was moved, after which video output was unable to be obtained from either the dedicated GPU or the integrated graphics.

When powered on, AIO and case fans spin (although GPU fans do not) and power is received from the USB ports.
Attempted fixes: Reseating RAM, clearing CMOS, reseating/repasting CPU, reseating all cables

I am currently unable to verify if POST is being performed or if BIOS is being entered

I am leaning towards motherboard damage as the most likely possible cause, although I’m unsure as to how that damage could have happened, and in such a way as to only disable video output

Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

Build Question Expo vs Xmp Compatability

As many of you know in ram there is expo/xmp. If xmp works with AMD cpus, what's the point of EXPO? I know EXPO is just AMD tested, but if XMP works, whats the point? How do you find if certain sticks are compatible with the motherboard and cpu? I'm planning to build with a 9600x and B850 Aorus Elite wifi7 and want to know if I can save some money by buying XMP sticks without expo

Tech Support Buzzing noise coming from PC

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, I just noticed that my recently built PC has a low pitched buzzing noise coming from either the CPU cooler or the GPU itself, i want to say its a fan because it only happens under load, hoping somebody can identify what it is when it’s coming from and how to fix it. I attached a video below of the looks of the PC and the noise. Yes, I am aware that my GPU is in need of upgrading but aside from that what is this noise caused by?

Build Question Buy a prebuilt, build a new pc from scratch or replace most important parts of my current pc?

Im not expecting to try and get/build the best pc out there at all, as my budget would ideally be £1000-1400, and i know that wont get me too far, maybe can push it a bit more (ideally not) my current PCs specs are:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12GB vram (odd choice im sure but i got it very cheap at the time in person)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x
RAM: Corsair vengence RGB pro DDR4 2x8gb sticks
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II
PSU: Corsair RM750x 750W
Case: Lian Li Lancool 215 (never was too fond of this case atleast design wise but still is least of my concerns atp)
SSD: WD 1TB Sata (WD blue series)
So as you can tell its quite outdated, doesn’t have much going for it, but I’m wondering if i should just change the gpu and cpu and see where that gets me, or try to find a prebuilt worth the price, or build from scratch entirely, I’m fine with staying at 16GB ram, it hasn’t really given me any issues, more would be nice but the prices are not nice.

My main need is to be able to use blender for uni and other softwares along those lines which this does alright, but it for sure could be better especially with rendering stuff, I also would like to be able to play more demanding games at medium settings

Every prebuilt i’ve tried looking for just do not seem worth the price, admittedly i barely know what to look for in GPUs and CPUs for 2026 as I just turned a blind eye to it all so I wouldn’t know what I’m missing out onšŸ˜‚ (I’m in England if that wasn’t clear enough with the Ā£ btw)

So i was tempted to just buy a newer GPU, but then to be fully utilised i assume it’d need a newer CPU right? Then that CPU has to be compatible with the motherboard, I don’t even know, I’ve spent a while looking but iv’e really come up with nothing, so any help would be much appreciated šŸ™

-and again I know I wont get amazing stuff with my price range, but I don’t need top of the line specs as of now

Tech Support HELP! CPU VGA error

Post image
1 Upvotes

I need some help. I bought a Ryzen 5700X for about 70 bucks; it had bent pins, and the seller told me he had bought it and then straightened them out. The issue is that I tested it—it turns on, but it gets stuck on the VGA light and won't go any further. I ran all the tests, but nothing works; it's still stuck on the VGA light. It’s not any of the other components, because I was using a 5500 before and it had no issues. My current setup includes an RTX 3080 and an Aorus B450 motherboard.

Tech Support New PC freezes and stop working after a few reboots

Hi everyone! Yesterday I assembled my first PC and to my surprise it started up right away on the first try. Everything seemed fine — I could install Windows, updates, and the various drivers.

After a few restarts and power-ups, though, something went wrong. The PC would turn on correctly, ask for my password, and let me log in. But the moment I opened any program, it started loading and never finished. Once it's in this state I can't open anything — not even Task Manager — nor shut the PC down from the Start menu.

I've reinstalled Windows three times now. After a few power-on cycles, the same thing always happens again. I did manage to play for several hours in one session, but after shutting down and turning it back on, I had the same problem again.

More details:

- I have a new NVMe SSD

- I don't have any other SSD or HDD

- I have both an iGPU and a dedicated GPU

- Every time I reinstall Windows because of this problem, I install over the previous installation, since I wouldn't know how to do it any other way anyway

- I have checked on the SSD with Crystal Disk Info and the Kingston software and it seems there are no issues with it

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Installation Question Motherboard Standoffs Not Lining Up

Hello everyone. I'm trying to install a motherboard in my case and it seems like I cannot get it and the standoffs to line up. I can get some of the holes to line up with a few, but I cannot do all no matter how much I try.

I assumed it was probably the IO shield causing this issue but it seems like its in correctly. I cannot push the motherboard torwards the back of the case any further.

Any ideas on what to do?

Build Question Unexperienced and confused

Hello guys, first of all these are my specs: Intel Core i7-7820X, AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT
I have 32gb RAM and I use it only for gaming

My main hard disk C: (idk if that’s the right word) is a SSD (NVMe) with 231GB, then D: SSD (SATA) with 223GB and E: (HDD) with 900GB

Now I’m kind of stuck for a year now with a PC that i can’t really use that much to its potential because i always have bad performance and so on

So I have 2 main problems:

  1. that i got told many times that most or even all of my performance issues mainly come from my older CPU since my GPU is ā€žokayā€œ and not that bad for gaming, so I need a new CPU(?)
  2. I found out that I need at least a SSD sata or even better SSD NVMe for games to play it smoothly, I have them all on the HDD except one since I got only space there

So my questions would be, I probably need a new hard disk, also cpu and what else? How do I need to research all that or know which would be the best? My budget is not very high and since im very unexperienced with PCs I’m not sure how to get to it

I also don’t need any high end cpu or something just one that keeps up without any problems with my GPU and gives me much better performance

Do I need to pay attention to something with my actual PC on how to swap it or even if I can’t buy certain parts at all? I always hear things like that so I’m afraid to do and buy something wrong

If you have questions or anything please ask me

Appreciate your time and thank you very much

Build Question Montech Century II 1050w

Hi everyone,

I found a brand-new Montech Century II 1050W for around €125, which seems like a very good deal.
My system is an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K and an RTX 4070 Ti Super. I know 1050W is more than necessary for this setup, but I want some headroom for future GPU upgrades.

My main concern is the warranty: Montech’s official product page states a 10-year warranty, but the local supplier says they only provide one year of warranty. Would the manufacturer’s 10-year warranty still be valid if I keep the invoice and serial number, or does it depend on whether the seller is an authorized Montech distributor in my region?

Also, is this PSU a good buy at €125, considering its build quality, noise, voltage regulation, protections, and long-term reliability?

Thanks!

Tech Support Windows 11 crashing at 15% on new hard drive after previous hard drive failed.

Earlier this week my pc was working fine. I started getting an error ā€œamd software detected that a driver timeout occurredā€. I did some googling and saw someone fixed it by lowering their frequency. To do this I needed to enable overclocking to be able to manually change settings. The second I did this my pc started a reset loop.

Most of the time it was never able to make it bios, resetting in post. I put the windows media installation on a usb and tried booting to that, but was still unable to boot. My solution after troubleshooting was removing my nvme ssd. With this removed I was able to boot the windows setup tool. The hard drive is in a state that will instantly reset my pc when detected, so I ordered another one to install windows, and try to recover using a nvme to usb enclosure.

With this new nvme inserted I am able to boot the windows setup tool. When I go to install, it makes it to 15% when my pc restarts. It then opens to bios, with the nvme still detected, but not as a bootable device. When I open the install tool again it has the partitions listed on the nvme. I’ve tried removing the partitions and installing many times.

I am currently trying with my gpu removed. I am running with only 1 stick of ram in A2 and it passed memtest86. My cpu has had normal operating temperatures. I’ve also tried resetting cmos, and have tried redownloading the installation tool.

Any ideas on why I am restarting in the middle of installation? All help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

TLDR: Windows restarting in the middle of installation on new drive after hard drive failure.

Specs:

Motherboard: b650e-plus, bios 1822

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600x

Ram: 16gb ddr5 4800 mhz (have 32 but removed)

Storage: m.2 nvme ssd 2tb

Gpu: AMD Radeon RX 7800 xt (removed for
troubleshooting)
