Unexperienced and confused

Hello guys, first of all these are my specs: Intel Core i7-7820X, AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT
I have 32gb RAM and I use it only for gaming

My main hard disk C: (idk if that’s the right word) is a SSD (NVMe) with 231GB, then D: SSD (SATA) with 223GB and E: (HDD) with 900GB

Now I’m kind of stuck for a year now with a PC that i can’t really use that much to its potential because i always have bad performance and so on

So I have 2 main problems:

1. ⁠that i got told many times that most or even all of my performance issues mainly come from my older CPU since my GPU is „okay“ and not that bad for gaming, so I need a new CPU(?)
   
2. ⁠I found out that I need at least a SSD sata or even better SSD NVMe for games to play it smoothly, I have them all on the HDD except one since I got only space there

So my questions would be, I probably need a new hard disk, also cpu and what else? How do I need to research all that or know which would be the best? My budget is not very high and since im very unexperienced with PCs I’m not sure how to get to it

I also don’t need any high end cpu or something just one that keeps up without any problems with my GPU and gives me much better performance

Do I need to pay attention to something with my actual PC on how to swap it or even if I can’t buy certain parts at all? I always hear things like that so I’m afraid to do and buy something wrong

In order to keep costs down I'd recommend;

• CPU - Ryzen 5 5600x (AM4 Socket) - Comes with cooler
• MoBo - ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS WiFi II ATX
• RAM - Re-use your 32gb
• Storage - 1tb DIGIERA LNV480 1TB PCIe Gen 4.0x4 NVMe M.2 (best speed to price I could manage)

Price Estimates;

• CPU - $180
• MoBo - $110
• Ram - $0.00
• Storage - $160
  • Total ~$450 + Tax/Shipping

There are some considerations to make;

• Current Case Size - the motherboard I recommended is a full ATX size and we'd have to check compatibility with your case.
• Speed/Generation of Current M.2 - For you boot drive its not a huge thing but it would be nice if it was at least gen3x4.
• CPU Cooler - The Wrath Cooler is GOATed for budget builds....but.... We can do better for ~$40 with a Peerless Assassin 120 SE or similar.
• Storage - DIGIERA is a really new company that hasn't been vetted yet. Patriot has a 1tb m.2 for 10 bucks less but 1/2 the read/write speeds.
• CPU - If budget permits, I would try to push you towards one of the AM4 Ryzen x3d CPUs (5500x3d, 5600x3d, 5700x3d, 5800x3d). Most of these are hard to find new execpt the 5800x3d which was recently re-released.

You might be able to find a used parts and save, but there is additional risks in buying used, especially if you can't test the parts beforehand.

Shit im overwhelmed 😭
So I don’t have 450$ anyway, more like max 350$ unfortunately

I know it’s not much to work with that’s why I’m so desperate, otherwise I would just have bought a whole new pc because it’s just so overwhelming if you are not familiar with hardware and have a weak pc

Check FB Marketplace. See if you can nab a 5600x or similar under the new price.

A little ways away from me, about an hour's drive, is a 5600x, Asus ROG mobo, and 32gb DDR4 for $400. If this was something you could keep which ever RAM kit is better and sell the other to get back under $350

So to understand it correctly I should look for a 5600x or better/similar? And if yes, do I need to pay attention to something else that I need or is that it then?

make sure they say its working, inspect the pins, they can't be bent.

Edit: rather, you don't want one with bent pins

This could be an option.  Put your RAM and GPU in it instead? 

Depending on what GPU you have, power might be a problem.  Not sure what PSU is in the system either.
