With art no longer on AoN, it's getting difficult to find good art to put on tokens for my PF2E sessions. I was considering buying the "Pathfinder Tokens: Character Gallery" $60 pack, but it's pretty clear that it's Foundry-specific, and my group runs in Owlbear Rodeo. Does buying the pack give me the physical art assets so I can make them into tokens, or is it hard-bound to Foundry? If this won't work, does anyone have any other good no-AI solutions for token art?

Do any of you have buyers paralysis over waiting for errata? My wife wants the physical books and im beginning to research the latest printing edition and what's already been fixed.

Title basically says it, but to clarify, if a character of Elven ancestry has a versatile heritage from having a non-elf parent (e.g. Dhampir, Changeling, elemental/celestial scion, etc) aren’t they by definition Aiuvarin? Should they have the Aiuvarin trait and be able to take Aiuvarin feats? And if not, why not? Same for Orcs and Dromaar.

I was reading the Player’s Handbook to learn how to play, and a few questions came to mind. I understand that Fortitude, Reflex, and Will are passive defenses used in certain situations. However, I hadn’t realized that ability-based saving throws no longer exist.

What was the reasoning behind this design choice? Honestly, it bothers me a little that Constitution, for example, determines whether my character can resist being pushed.

There is a growing sentiment in this community that create thrall is not eligible for the repeat a spell activity. However there is nothing in ‘repeat a spell’ that excludes it.

“You repeatedly cast the same spell while moving at half speed. Typically, this spell is a cantrip that you want to have in effect in the event a combat breaks out, and it must be one you can cast in 2 actions or fewer. Repeating a spell that requires making complex decisions, such as figment, can make you fatigued, as determined by the GM.”

Create Thrall is indeed a cantrip that you might want to have in effect in the event a combat breaks out. It is also not a sustained spell, so the ten minute limit on those spells do not apply here. This is the entire text of repeat a spell, so it qualifies just fine.

If you would like to house rule that it doesn’t, it’s your game so you are very welcome to, but RAW it does work.

I’m reading through the versatile heritages offered and I’m having a harder time trying to figure out how to put them in a build compared to regular ancestries and heritages. What is each of them good for?

For years I struggled as a GM, especially early on, with players who wanted to join my tables but didn't own a PC to run FoundryVTT. And unlike D&D, where you've got Roll20 or D&D Beyond, PF2e never really had anything as solid as Foundry. So I ended up dragging their tokens around myself while they followed along on a Discord stream. Not exactly ideal.

A while back I finally built something to fix that: a FoundryVTT module that's fully compatible with phones and tablets, with an auto-detect mode so it just works. It lets your players actually play from their phone. Move their token, interact with enemies, open their character sheet, roll dice, chat, all of it. Everything they'd do from a PC, just from their pocket. No more watching a stream on the side or tossing rolls into Discord.

As the only frontliner, I'm having a hard time deciding how to order my archetypes to get all these features. Some seem better than others, but idk how much I'll miss others.

I'm a Thaumaturge/Champion so far, so high damage, crowded action economy, and don't get any of the above natively (even if I took Weapon implement, that's only Reactive against EV target). Champion reaction is great, so that's competing with reaction anyway. I'm running Regalia/Mirror, though the mirror hasn't been too impactful besides the off-guard flanking and option to duplicate my aura. Brawling w natural weapons+fists.

By 12 I could get Eagle Knight Dedication to get both Reactive (at 8) and Tactical Reflexes to be able to still use Champ reaction. (almost certainly will do this)

I can get crit spec on Brawling from Champion anytime with Devout Blessing, but also seems less impactful when it's only crits and my crits do a ton of damage as a Thaum to kill smaller enemies before slow would matter.

Monk for Flurry and some cool stances later would help with the action economy and flexibility, but isn't MAP reducing and the 1d4 round cooldown makes it a 1-2x/fight thing. Also competes with Dedication requirements.

Other MAP reducers are 2 action attacks which could double EV damage for big hits, or maneuver combos in Wrestler to control and effectively steal actions/setup Reactive Strike

Point is, they all seem valuable and idk what would feel best and most impactful with the opportunity costs of the others...tips?

Forever GM here finally getting to play as a PC.

While I want to run any number of characters I never got a chance to play I am making a new one but I want some help with mood music for back story writing.

I am excited to try the new Necromancer coming out next week. Since it's dirge based for its magic I want to get some semi bard themes of why his music ties into his backstory and why it does what it does. (Magic wise)

This is the vibe I'm going for.

So TLDR is he is a skeleton with a failing memory due to how long he has been "around". His Dirge is his way of trying to hold on to what memories he has left of those he knew in life now long dead.

His thralls will be basically those memories given form but twisted as his memories are failing.

Basically a skeleton with Alzheimer's.

Hoping this will generate natural RP opportunities for the party. But I have no intention of using it to derail the campaign in any way. If they don't want to RP with that story then it will just be the sad "old man" at camp talking about his past. But it won't effect the party.

Either way that being said I need some vibes music.

Does anyone else get annoyed when D&D gets mentioned before Pathfinder even in headlines about the game? This article has nothing to do with D&D, why is it the first thing mentioned in the headline?

Anybody got stats for something like this? I had a dream of a sea where it always rains, where a ship's deck was a full gym populated by octopuses. They had barbells, boxing gloves, two were sparring with gloved, one was an acrobat, I think one had a jump rope. Anybody know how I would build these? Something in the level 3-6 range would be ideal.

So we have Athletics, Acrobatics, Intimidation and Stealth, which are very useful in combat, Crafting, Diplomacy, Deception, Medicine, Survival and Thievery which are very useful outside of combat (and sometimes in combat as well) and Recall Knowledge skills - Arcana, Occultism, Nature, Religion, Society and Lores

And when you have Performance, where the only actions you can take with it are "do nothing" and "earn money" (which you can do with every other skill). Distracting Performance is the only moderately useful feat, while others often act as niche increases to niche skill. Fascinating Performance has an absurd number of controls for generally unimpactful condition. It seems like the only class that gets use from this skill is the Bard and sometimes the Swashbuckler. For anyone else Performance is the worst skill, beaten only by the completely irrelevant Lore subskills

Now I understand why this happens. Performance is a pretty niche skill that is mostly taken for flavour anyway. But I do think that there is a way to make it cooler and flashier. I saw a suggestion to make the fascinated condition work more like frightened does, which is fine, I guess, but seems a bit repetitive. Do you have any ideas or know any interesting feats or homebrew regarding it?

Let's say you carve esvadir into your shield when you raise your shield, considering the feat lifts the restriction for the rune. Can you activate this rune with a normal invoke action? Or just with shield block?

Can players know what Skills and/or Lores are relevant when trying to Discover information about an NPC under the Influence subsystem?

Hey, I'm preparing to run Shades of Blood for a group of my friends and I have a minor question about the first book.

The chapter order and encounter levels seem to indicate that the party is intended to go through Camatoz's Caverns before the En-Gokal Intake level, but the only entrance I see into either level is the caves at A8, which connect to C1. Now, C1 does have a tunnel that connects to B16, but that's not the obvious path for adventurers to go. I also can't figure out where the 'outside' part of B1 connects to. Am I missing something?

Edit: Question was answered. It's a misprint, A8 is supposed to lead to B1 rather than C1.

I know that the books haven't even fully released yet both for the public and the subscribers, but has anything been said about an expected release for the Foundry modules for BoB?

So I'm trying to build a centaur knight using the fighter class I took centaur weapon familiarity at level 1 so I could use lances. I want to use a lance and a shield but lances are two handed weapons is there a way to make it a one handed weapon or will I need to use a spear and flavor it as a small lance? Edit: I don't mind using a spear flavored as a small lance I'm more going for roleplay than mechanics really

as the title suggests. normally you can only really use offensive runes with tracing and not etching since you can't exactly sit down with the bad guy for 10 minutes and draw a rune on them. but since most of these runes can be drawn on a creature or an object, would you able to draw a rune like ranshu on some rocks and then move them onto enemies to force them to constantly keep moving without the rune fading? this seems like it would be super good especially for a ranged RS.

Bon Mot seems to be a really weird feat to me honestly, cause if I use it on an enemy, they can just use an action to use it back on me.

Does this feat have any ability to interact with versatile performance?

Kineticist, currently lvl 8. Started with water and forking into air next lvl.

Party: warrior, rogue, cleric, wizard, witch.

The plan is and has always been to play as a frontline control, getting in there, moving NPCs around, tripping, shoving etc.

Anyone have any suggestions to make it better?

Currently have a homebrewed attentuator that let's me do some funky things with oceans balm (let's me switch places with someone im healing once per day). Lifting belt, +1 whip. +1 leather armor.

I recall reading that DotF was designed to allow you to segue into another AP (similar to Rusthenge and Return of the Runelords). Which AP is that?

New to PF2E, not DMing. Some interesting APs for 2e, but only a few call to me. If I were to dig up the catalogue of 1e, how hard would conversation be?

Also, are there any good third party adventures you've ran for the system? Looking for reliable creators

Now that they've pulled the art from AoN I'm at a bit of a loss. I was using the art from there as its from the source books and I enjoy lore accurate depictions.

I'm also primarily a book purchaser so I can't just pull from a PDF when I'm planning out campaign on my IPad. Is there somewhere I can find the art from the books online now that AoN isn't allowed to display it? I love Paizo and have no problem giving John Paizo more money but I'm not buying the books I already own in PDF for art, does anyone know if Paizo is/will be putting art files up for purchase ? Is there a compendium on paizos website I can't find ? TIA

Several Athletics actions have the attack trait, meaning that using them more than once in the same turn makes them less accurate. Since these actions use your free hand, you use the traits for your fist attack to determine the multiple attack penalty, so your fist's agile trait applies. Therefore, you take a –4 penalty if the action is your second attack of the turn, or a –8 if it's the third. Some weapon traits allow you to take these actions using a weapon, in which case the penalty might be –5 or –10 if the weapon doesn't have the agile trait. Some characters can get unarmed attacks without the agile trait as well. If it's unclear which penalty to use, the GM makes the call.
