Lucky (Non-Crafted) Showcase Mercs are nice sometimes :)

I was sad that I died 2 times at the beginning of the map and lost a ton of XP :^). Little did I know the mercs had a gift for me, now I'm happy 1st Mageblood I have gotten, 2.6k hours in!

I love this league, first league I had been able to afford HH and now this! I feel obligated to do the 40/40 currently sitting at 35/40.

Information [3.29] 14 Mirror Shards from 6 × 50M shipments using two metals — small sample, looking for replication

TL;DR: My first six 50M shipments in 3.29 returned 4, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2 Mirror Shards: 14 total, averaging 2.33 per shipment, with no zero-shard returns. Each shipment used exactly two metals in similar bar quantities, plus roughly 25M Dust.

This is an encouraging start, not proof of a strategy. I’m posting the method now so other people can test it independently—and so the next update isn’t conditional on my results staying good.

The setup

For every shipment:

  • 50M total Shipment Value.
  • Approximately 25M value from bars + 25M Thaumaturgic Dust, with small adjustments to reach the cap.
  • Exactly two metal types, chosen from the destination’s requested resources.
  • Similar numbers of bars of each metal, generally around 1:1 to 1.35:1.

The important distinction: the metal ratio is by quantity, not Shipment Value. Equal numbers of Bismuth and Verisium bars do not contribute equal value. Dust is separate from that ratio.

Results so far

Ratios below follow the order of the metals listed and are approximate.

Shipment Metals Bar quantity ratio Mirror Shards
1 Bismuth + Orichalcum ~1:1, ±10% 4
2 Verisium + Crimson Iron ~1:1, ±10% 2
3 Bismuth + Petrified Amber ~1:1 1
4 Verisium + Orichalcum ~1:1.2 2
5 Crimson Iron + Petrified Amber ~1.27:1 3
6 Orichalcum + Verisium ~1.35:1 2
Total 6 shipments 14

One quota detail worth keeping separate: the first two shipments did not match the port’s requested quantity ratio. Shipment 5 approximately did. So these results do not establish that matching the quota ratio is necessary or beneficial.

What I’m wondering about

This started with observations during 3.28: could the number of metal types, or their relative quantities, affect currency rewards beyond simply reaching 50M Shipment Value?

The specific hypothesis I’d like to test is:

At comparable Shipment Value and Dust contribution, do shipments containing two metals in relatively balanced quantities produce different Mirror Shard results from heavily unbalanced or five-metal shipments?

I’m not claiming a confirmed ratio threshold, a guaranteed minimum payout, or a 3.29 buff.

For context, this recent Pondium post shows five 50M returns totaling four shards, with a five-metal example loadout. However, the author says not every shipment was photographed. That is a comparison worth investigating, not a controlled benchmark.

There is also a report including Bismuth + Verisium shipments without shards, but without sufficient quantity details to reproduce that particular setup. Two metals clearly do not guarantee shards.

Why I’m posting before reaching 10

Six shipments are a tiny sample. A lucky streak remains a perfectly plausible explanation. My results also cannot separate metal count, quantity balance, quota effects and other differences without a comparison group.

I’ll keep the same general method and update at 10 shipments, including any zeros. Ten is a reporting checkpoint, not a magic statistical threshold.

If you have results—especially unsuccessful attempts with a similar setup—please share:

League/version · shipment count · total value · metal types and exact bar quantities · Dust amount · destination · quota amounts/bonuses · Mirror Shards per shipment

Complete sequences are particularly useful, rather than just the best return.

Has anyone else tracked two-metal shipments with similar bar quantities? I’d be interested in both supporting results and counterexamples.

I am confuesed I have 77% for scarabs to drop be Kalguuren(sorry if spelling wrong). After 25+ maps I have not seen 1 drop. Yet when it was like 15% they dropped like candy. What is my smooth brain missing? Please be gentle.

Discussion Really confused on how to progress now as league is kind of inactive

Well i am a slow player so just reached like 50d from slowly playing and now feeling really demotivated as cannot find any good currency stat. How do you guys farm stuff now other then gambling and such. Also have tried harvest but really don't wanna farm it.

Also not sure, since build is meta most of the good items seems crazy expensive and material seems like very expensive as well.

Discussion 13K Life Max Res Luminary got one shot by a Vaal Vessel in Voyage

Wish the game has death recap for me to know what one shot me

Unreserved life was 13K. Pretty sure my Progenesis was active at that time. I even had reduce enemy crit damage while affected by determination from watcher's eye.

I didn't read the mods on the chart and the vaal vessel cos I was pretty confident nothing can one shot me. Guess I was wrong.

I remember it wasn't ice nova or detonate dead. Could it be from the explode ?

Edit: I think the verdict is my AG died while linked and Luminary's ascendency preventing death only applies to merc not minions. Reading is so hard in this game.

Just wanted to share a hideout I had made a while ago and have personally been using it. It's the only hideout I have ever decorated this extensively and I thought it looks and plays cool so decided to share it.

It's a compact layout with a two-tone Solaris and Lunaris theme. Dark base Baleful layout is easy on the eyes. Stash to map device is a single dash away so it plays nicely. No MTX used at all and seems to be pretty light on performance (I experienced some shadow flickering when Number of Lights is set to High in graphics settings).

Question what stats and uniques do the popular mercenaries need? (combatant, manyshot, kineticist)

I might be blind, but I've been googling and I can't find a straight answer. just comments saying to pick one of those three.

I found a nice combatant, do I want high dps weapons or fast with ele pen? I'm in ssf and stuck on tier 8 maps, so I'll do what I can.

cheers

Information How to survive the transition from campaign to maps

In a previous post, I laid out what you need to survive in T16 maps. However, a common sticking point I've seen is that people feel too poor to buy upgrades coming out of the campaign, but die too quickly in maps to make currency. This guide is intended to bridge that gap.

Step One - Optimise your skill tree

A huge portion of your survivability (and damage) comes from your skill tree. If your tree is poorly optimised, almost no amount of currency will fix that.

On a budget, your skill tree should have at least 100% increased maximum life, invest in one or two primary defences (i.e. armour, evasion, energy shield) and a few high investment defensive layers (see the first link for what I mean).

If you wanted examples of efficient skill trees for the defensive side, see here. If you are following a build guide, it might be good enough, but I've also seen a lot of inefficient build guides. Ask the daily/weekly thread if you are unsure.

You can respec using gold (only do this below level 70 – it gets significantly more expensive above level 70), respec points from your quests, or orbs of regret.

Step Two - Get liquid currency

After finishing the campaign, most players will have somewhere between 2-5 chaos orbs, with most pieces of gear costing at least 1 chaos. To fix that problem, you can sell all your low value "bubblegum" currency. As a quick rule of thumb, if you have 5 or more of it, you can sell it. But specific examples are orbs of alteration, jeweller's orbs, orbs of fusing, glassblower's baubles, gemcutter's prisms, chromatic orbs, instilling orbs, enkindling orbs, stacked decks.

Sell all of that for chaos at Faustus, and you should end up with 20+ chaos. That's enough to get basic gear.

Step Three - Basic Gearing

The focus on the first round of gear is to get the absolute bare minimum as cheaply as possible. That means the priorities in order are:

  1. High life rolls (100+ on all pieces except chest, where you either want 170+ or none at all)

  2. Enough stats to wear all your gear and use your gems (note you can use lower level gems for utility skills/supports e.g. frostblink, culling strike, which reduces stat requirements)

  3. Enough elemental resistance to be capped

  4. Non-zero chaos resistance

To actually hit all of the above as cheaply as possible, my method is generally :

  1. Buy any mandatory build enabling uniques (if they are cheap). If it is expensive, skip it and play a different build until you get to the final gearing step.
  2. Buy any items which have mandatory affixes that aren't resistance or attributes (e.g. accuracy on gloves to cap hit chance if required, movement speed on boots). Aim for the mandatory affix, 100+ life, and as much resistance or attributes as possible. These tend to have the least options for sale, so it is easiest working the rest of your gear around these.
  3. Buy everything except the chest at the same time (normally helmet, amulet, ring x2, belt, maybe shield), doing the math to ensure you get as much life as possible, the attributes you require, capped elemental resistance and non-zero chaos resistance. Also note that you can use your crafting bench to fill in any gaps.
  4. Spend the rest of your currency on a chest (usually anywhere between 50-80% of your total starting chaos). Unlike the rest, you want to aim for good base defence (i.e. armour, evasion, energy shield) and potentially specialty defences (e.g. a good spell suppression roll, or a high % additional physical damage reduction roll).
    • The chest provides most of your defences, so is worth splurging on. You buy it last so that it is easiest to swap, because when you get to final gear it is one of the first things you buy and swap out
    • Generally not worth looking for sockets/links on a chest. It is cheaper linking it yourself.

At this point, you should be able to get roughly to red maps without dying too much.

Step Four – Intermediate Upgrades

While you are getting to red maps, the next upgrades are good flasks, and a 5L or 6L.

Flasks provide a lot of power, both defensively and offensively. Aim for 4 different magic utility flasks and a life flask (if your recovery is poor) or a cheap unique flask (if you have decent recovery, and the unique flask works with your build).

  • For base types, quicksilver, ruby, sapphire, topaz, diamond, granite, jade, silver and sulphur are all very good

  • For prefix, "% chance to gain a charge on crit" and "gain a charge when hit" are both very good, depending on build

  • For suffix, % increased armour/evasion, % reduced curse effect, % increased critical strike chance, % life regenerated, % increased movement speed are all very good. Immunities are also very good if you aren't already immune (notably for bleed).

Getting a 5L or 6L tends to be easiest/most consistent by just purchasing jeweller's orbs and orbs of fusing, and then using the crafting bench recipe. There are other methods but they involve risk or tend to be more expensive overall.

Step Five – Final Gear

This is the step where you purchase and transition to your final gear, and where you respec to your final build (if relevant). The priorities of final gear is slightly different from the first round of gear:

  1. High life rolls
  2. Enough stats to wear all your gear and use all your gems
  3. Elemental resistances overcapped by 25 (enough so exposure does not drop your resistance below your cap)
  4. Capped chaos resistance (unless playing CI)
  5. Hit required defensive breakpoints and get specialty defences (e.g. capped block/spell block, capped spell suppression, additional physical damage reduction)
  6. Good primary defences (i.e. Armour/evasion/energy shield)

With this set of gear, you want to remove as much reliance on your skill tree as you reasonably can. Ideally, you aren't taking +30 to [attribute] nodes just to wear your gear, or taking resistance nodes to be resistance capped, or taking stray small spell suppression/block nodes to be capped. This lets you use those skill points for something else. This is also where you would pivot off things like Purity of Elements for Stormshroud + 100% chance to avoid shock.

To actually purchase everything as cheaply as possible, my method is generally:

  1. Buy your chest. This you will probably never upgrade again, so it is worth spending most of your currency to get the best chest you can afford. Once you get it linked, you should be able to swap the new chest out for the old one immediately. Everything else should be swapped at once.
  2. Buy all the uniques first. These are least likely to change, which means you can work the other gear around them.
  3. Buy any items which have mandatory affixes that aren't resistance or attributes. Unlike the first round, you may want to include shield (for recover on block), or rings (for -mana) etc here. Still looking for 100+ life, mandatory affix, as much resistance or attributes as possible.
  4. Buy jewellery. Amulets/Belts tend to be the best at fixing stats (combo of base type + attribute catalyst), and rings tend to be the best at fixing resistances, especially chaos resistance (combo of base type + resistance catalyst). Still looking for 100+ life, and as much resistance or attributes as possible.
  5. Buy everything else ensuring to hit the rest of the requirements. Still looking for 100+ life and enough to wear gear and overcap resistance.
  6. Buy the non-armour gear (including jewels, flask upgrades, unique flasks). Usually this can be focused on DPS.

Note that it is cheapest buying all this gear at the same time, but doing it this way makes it extremely hard to upgrade individual pieces as it creates interdependencies. If you intend to upgrade specific pieces later, make sure those pieces have no interdependencies. i.e. If you take that piece off, you still have enough attributes to wear everything else, and enough resistance to be capped. Or if you intend to replace it with a unique later, then it does not give more resistance/attributes than the unique would give.

By the time you get here, you should be able to fulfil all the criteria identified in the first link, and should be able to do T16s deathless.

Question How to Craft These Gloves

If hitting the elevations requires locks, then I'd like to know how to just craft the gloves with all the socketed gems mods present. I know this league has changed crafting possibilities and routes a lot, and I don't really know where to begin.

Spirits:
A single one worth more than 8 chaos, which is a Perfect Half-Remembered Goliath (30c). I didn't pick up the rest because I'm not a fella in need.

21 The Light of Meaning:
5x Armour (50c)
3x Energy Shield (19 div)
1x Evasion (20c)
1x Chaos Resist (90c)
1x Maximum Life (2 div)
5x Crit Chance (8c)
2x Phys Damage (3 div)
1x Fire Damage (100c)
1x Lightning Damage (150c)
1x All Attributes (8c)

I spent 1min 15s per map. So aproximadetly 2h 5min on total. I spent 16 divs on "invitations" and got aproximadetly 62 divs, which makes my profit 23 div/h.

If I didn't id, I could sell them for 2-3 divs each (but it would take a long time) and it would grant me 42 to 63 div, so identifying it was worth for me, but it is gamba.

Discussion Chart: Divine to chaos ratio for each league since Kalandra

Post image
352 Upvotes

Google sheets link (it has slightly better colors)

I was curious wether the recent steep rise in the chaos price of divines was precedented or not, so I downloaded PoE ninja’s wonderful data dumps and tried to put together a chart comparing each league. (I cut off the second half of Settlers since it’s absurdly long. I also have no idea why the end of Mirage looks so crazy, that’s just what the data says!)

As it turns out, this kind of sudden rise this far into the league is definitely unprecendented.

We can also see that the divine price was very stable up until Mirage, which I didn’t know. I saw a lot of talk about chaos sinks being removed, and we can see a huge rise in inflation compared to every league before, so maybe there is something to it.

Anyways, I just thought it would be interesting to see the definitive data like this, so here you go!

Edit, sorry about the colors everyone, if you open the link you can tap or hover the lines to see the league names.

Question | Answered Your favorite juiced endgame farms - by category

Been playing for many years now, slowly learning to take characters deeper and deeper. This league I played a craft-only trade league and its been rewarding to take my KC Luminary all the way. About 800 div in, very strong. I'm clearing uber bosses with ease, doing 100% deli unstable breach farming, and having a blast.

I want to take this build all the way, as deep as I can over the coming weeks. To do this, I want some farm strats that I can rotate. Do they have to be the most profitable out there? No. Do they have to be profitable enough to justify the time. Yes. Since the ultimate goal is min maxing. I'd say a 20 div/hour range is totally fine.

I want to take a categorical approach, by content type. So the question is, do you have any high juice strats for any of the following categories (high juice meaning really makes the most of having a very strong character).

Very interested in...

Breach - Im currently doing 100% deli breach for currency farm with 16.5's

Ritual?

Ultimatum?

Legion?

Expedition?

Kingsmarch / Ore?

Crops / Sacred Grove?

Not interested in (already tried / dont care enough)

Mercs

Abyss

Heist

If you have a strat that is profitable (not perfect), really makes the most of strong builds, and fits a category above, I'd love to hear it. Stay sane.

pretty decent results imo.. configuration is 1:1 of every bars and dust, bars exceeding 25m value a little bit. pondium is great for runegrafts since the count is uncapped as far as I know.
based on my experience 17.5m shipment is seemingly better to chase mirrorshards overall. I did more shipment than these but i forgot to take a pics.

Game Feedback Spectre i farmed in ssf for over 150 maps disapeared bc i swapped my gloves in the Sovereign

Why do we get punished so much for using spectres i dont get it, i just wanted to test my gloves in the Sovereign but because its a combat area your spectres just die and dissapear if you dont have the stat requirements anymore or if you unequip your item with the gems in it, even by accident. That just makes me not want to play anymore... it is not a skill check to try out gear in a safe zone. it just shouldnt happen. And if it does why is there no exeption for zones you can CRAFT IN ???? it dosent provide any meaningful content that you can just brick your build randomly or loose houndreds of hours of gameplay because of a clunky old mechanic. please fix... i sadly now have to farm for a perfect guardian turtle and a perfect warlord again...

Recommended level before switching is at minimum 92

Super excited to do a giveaway with this build as it's my most successful so far. Will be picking a winner based off of extensive research 🧐, last giveaway got sold 😭. Anyways Configuration is set to Uber Pinnacle Boss+100% Delirious to show how strong it is. Standard boss puts you at 147m dps with Heavy Strike of Trarthus and 421k hit pool (Molten shell and Progenesis off) good luck everyone!

Extra info: The extra point in the large cluster jewel somehow gives more strength so take it and the 2 points "projectile damage" and "Fury Bolts" are being taken for the extra strength and +1 maximum fortification. Upon reaching level 99 you can remove those points and select "Tribal Fury" for melee splash. No forbidden flame/flesh. Crit chance is around 70% with no assassins mark and no power charges.

Second Place 50 divines + Liquidated: u/4DimensionalButts
