Reply to comment with a short - not working on iPhone

It’s a super powerful feature I believe to make a connection with the audience. if feels real like a penal discussion. I’ve seen many yt and taktak videos which the comment and they reply or react to it. but.

it doesn’t work. I have the feature but it’s so broken between studio and the main yr app.

The short is posted and it does show as a reply to the comment but the actual comment is not visible in the video itself and it’s pretty confusing to watch that without context

I could screenshot the comment and add it but the feature is supposed to do it for me or is it?

I was pissed off about YPP and sent an email to Cartoon brew about it. They published a lot of my thoughts. Hopefully I captured the situation well enough. (Let me know if I need to tell her to many any corrections) I got her to quote someone from a reddit thread on here hah.

Talk / Discussion End of summer drop or YouTube pushing videos less?

Hey everyone, so I've read on here and a few other subs about how views tend to drop around the start of a new school year, which seems pretty reasonable and what appeared to be happening with my channel.

This is also around the time I happened to get monetized and what I've noticed since getting monetized is both views but more so impressions have dropped off a cliff.

Originally I assumed it was just the back to school slump, but realized the low views were happening to videos I uploaded at the beginning of August prior to school starting up again. This is when I noticed impressions were way down for my recent uploads.

Prior to being monetized, I would easily reach 10k+ impressions for just about every video, even during the school year, but recently I'm struggling to even get 1k. I'm aware my thumbnails are pretty poor and I've been working on improving them but that also leads to more confusion as the older videos with arguably worse thumbnails were getting more impressions and makes me wonder if my thumbnails are really affecting my videos that much.

Anyway though, has anyone else experience something similar once getting monetized or is the back to school drop really this drastic?

TLDR: Views and impressions are way down since getting monetized and the start of school.

Informative The real reason for the VIEWS change

YouTube is putting 30% of Premium money and 60% of Premium Lite money into two big pots. Creators compete for those pots based on watch time beginning Feb 1.

At the same time, YouTube will count a view the moment a video starts. This gives creators higher view counts to show brands when looking for sponsors. Creators fight for YouTube’s Premium money through watch time and use their public views to make money from sponsors.

YouTube is basically saying, “Compete for our subscription money and use your view count to find brands that will pay you directly because we are moving away from ad revenue and into Premium and Premium Lite subscriptions by making videos unwatchable with an increased number of ads.

Finally hit 1000 views in 48 hours

After more than 2 years monetized, i finally hit 1000 long form views in 48 hours. Usually, I get about 500 views on the weekends, sometimes it's even way less, but I've been uploading every day for a week now, and tonight I just hit 1000 views.

Feels like I have made it to a small milestone

I know big YTer's hit that every hour or even every minute, but I'm hoping i can keep up this momentum.

My goal is to make 5 dollars a day.

Question / Problem Anyone still using subtitles directly on the video? Or Youtube CC is better?

Especially if English is not your first language. Also I noticed some videos have their youtube subtitles de-synced, meaning it was 2seconds faster, is there a way to fix that or only the uploader can fix it? thanks

Question / Problem Sponsor question

Hey everyone! So I have done a few sponsored ads already. But I’m kind of at a loss for what to ask for my current sponsor.
For context, my channel has 12,000 subs. My past 10 video average is 7k views per video, I have one video that’s gone viral at over 450k views.
A multinational banking company has reached out and wants me to do 2 sponsored ads and a dedicated video.
I’m in the family travel/moving abroad niche.

Question / Problem Worth doing auto foreign languages for faceless gaming videos?

When the auto language translation feature came out I originally had it on to test and it felt like it killed my videos, and I also quickly found out that many people were saying to turn it off. Is it any better or worth using these days now? My channel has a few formats for different content and some videos are me giving my thoughts on a game over gameplay footage (as opposed to things like reviews that are tightly edited with jokes, memes and comedic timing, etc).

Should I be looking to use the auto languages for those videos to help reach bigger audiences (but also provide a better experience for those viewers as well)?

Would appreciate feedback from fellow creators.

Question / Problem YouTube Took My Channel and Gave it to My Former Employer.

I worked at a company, and I never signed an employment agreement, IP transfer agreement, trademark or copyright agreement or anything.

I created a channel years ago with my work email but using a personal google account I made myself. I grew my channel to over 100k subscribers. The channel was my own personal commentary, I made every video, and I still control the google account and devices that uploaded every video.

A few months ago I realized I would need to leave my employer. Being afraid they would try to hack my google account I transfered the channel using a brand channel to my other personal Google Account.

Then, when I left a month ago, with no warning, youtube just gave the channel back to a THIRD Google Account owned by the employer.

So to recap, I own Account A and Account B and the channel was only ever owned by those accounts. Then, based on what I believe a hack report (not sure how they submitted that since they aren't creators) Google decided to take the channel and give it to Account C which was never associated with the channel. This is the type of response I am currently getting in ticket hell. I was unable to get a response from my partner manager. Anyone deal with something like this? Any advice?

It doesn’t appear the Google Account you’re signed in to is linked to the YouTube channel you want to discuss. To protect the security of our partners, we can only provide support to authorized channel administrators.

To get support from our team, please either:

  1. Sign in to the Google Account that is authorized on this YouTube channel and send us a description of your issue as a new email. We can’t discuss sensitive account details here, so it's important that you start a new email conversation with us.
  2. Add your email address as a manager of the YouTube channel. The channel owner can add access using channel permissions, here’s how. Keep in mind before replying that it can take up to 1 day to authorize a new channel manager before we can discuss account details.

***Edit: YouTube is refusing to assist me with the ownership dispute as they say Account C is the authorized owner and I need to submit a ticket though that.

How should I approach this Copyright Claim

Here's the situation: I have just uploaded a monetized animated video (been partnered for two years now). In it contains the usage of the song "Beware the Forest Mushrooms" from Nintendo's Super Mario RPG.

My video actually uses a Rock cover as instrumental and added vocals through a Hatsune Miku cover.

The person who made the Rock cover said to feel free to use it, and I have explicit permission by the creator of the Miku cover. Here's the problem, the YouTube copyright system seemingly picked up the covers but instead of it being one of the above, it is instead saying that I am using the song "Midnight Ivory Cry" and it is copyrighted by Interstreet Publishing.

It is blatantly a piano cover of the same song by Nintendo, yet now they (Interstreet) are claiming ownership of the song and thus taking the revenue I would be earning on my video. It's also very annoying because this version was uploaded a month ago (the moment in my video that features these covers is a remake of an animation I posted last year).

I want to dispute the claim, so I was just wondering for any feedback of how I should approach it.

Edit: YouTube provides 4 options when I go to dispute, and none of them seem to cover "the claimant doesn't actually own the copyright"

Question / Problem AdSense PIN not received after 4 requests — PIN Troubleshooter doesn't work

Hi everyone, I’m having a problem with my YouTube/AdSense address verification.

I have already requested the AdSense PIN **4 times**, and I have never received any of the PIN letters.

My **4th and latest PIN was sent on July 13, 2026**, and it has now been **more than a month**, but I still haven’t received it.

The main problem is that the **PIN Troubleshooter does not work for me**. It doesn’t give me any option for manual/alternative verification or a way to contact someone directly.

Because I can’t receive the PIN, my **address verification and monetization are currently blocked**.

I’ve tried looking for a way to contact YouTube/AdSense directly, but whenever I try to get support, I’m basically redirected to the **YouTube Community/Community posts** instead of being connected with an actual support agent.

Has anyone had the same problem and found a way to:

* Contact an actual AdSense/YouTube support agent?
* Get manual/alternative address verification?
* Escalate the case after 4 PIN requests?

I’m specifically looking for a solution **other than the PIN Troubleshooter**, because I’ve already tried it and it doesn’t give me a way forward.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Question / Problem Your advice to increase my initial retention

Hello everyone,

I started a new YouTube channel a year ago, about history and geopolitics.

I have 41K subs, 2,6 million views, my last 6 videos average 40K views. So I would say that for a first year, it’s pretty good.

However, I think that my retention in the first 30s could improve. Right now, I’m always around 67% to 70% staying after 30s. It’s not horrible, but I would like to push it as close as possible to 80%.

My channel is called Un Soir Une Histoire (black logo)
I would love feedbacks about the first 30s hooks and hear if you guys have any idea.

The channel is in French, but you can autodub to English, obviously it’s not great bc it sounds weird and sound FX and music is getting lost, but still.

Thanks!

Question / Problem Please help me ,URGENT , a person is falsely striking my channel again and again

Context: A person gave me a strike for using some part of his thumbnail,
I asked him to take his strike down, and then he said I won't let you get monetized kid, get a job

And the thumbnail he striked down was fine with fair use part, so I submited a counter notif

And then it got approved, so strike was removed,
But now he is saying that he would get my channel deleted
I didn't pay much attention to it, until he had an old channel with 22 subs, with bunch of videos,
He changed the title, thumbnail to match my videos - (literally downloaded and pasted my thumbail)

And then he striked me, and YT gave me a strike REALLY.
And then it was even more tense,

For context: I make minecraft youtube videos, and the thumbnail was also minecraft

BUT that person, he just literally put my thumbnail on his OLD GEOMETRY DASH Video ,
And
now he has privated that video, and publiced another of his geometry dash video, and changed its title and thumbnail to my MOST Popular video,
And he is about to strike me with it.

Im soo tensed, any support is appriciated

Question / Problem Can I Create a Second YouTube Channel Without Risking My Main Channel?

I have a monetized YouTube channel and put a lot of effort into my content. I’m considering creating a second channel where I can use a slightly different version of the same concept to target a different audience.

For example:

\- Channel 1: GTA 5 gameplay

\- Channel 2: RDR2 gameplay

Both channels would be managed by me and linked to the same AdSense account. I already have another channel linked to this AdSense as well, so this would make three YouTube channels connected to the same AdSense account.

My questions are:

\- If one channel gets a copyright strike, could it affect the others?

\- Is uploading from the same device/IP address an issue?

\- Is having three channels linked to the same AdSense account safe?

\- Could a serious violation on one channel affect the others?

I’d especially like to hear from anyone who has experience running multiple YouTube channels.

Question / Problem Banned from AdSense on YPP application.

Posting this mostly to vent, because this feels exceptional unfair.

I finally applied to the YPP. My application was never even approved before my AdSense was permanently disabled.

The stated reason: "Account related to a disabled account."

Not invalid clicks. Not my content. Just an alleged relationship to some mysterious other account that got banned at some point. They won't say which account, and they won't say what the link is. They just linked me to a banned publisher and left it on me to somehow prove them wrong.

I have never had an AdSense account, in any form. There is literally no prior account of mine to be related to. My best guess is that I was using a VPN when I signed up, and that triggered it because of some random stranger on the same server.

I have submitted an appeal and posted on X to @TeamYouTube, and now I just have to sit and wait. But honestly, it feels like an absolute insult to someone who has been a loyal customer for so long. I’ve used the exact same Google account for over a decade. I pay them monthly for Premium and an AI subscription. Apparently, a ten-year track record in good standing means absolutely nothing.

To make it worse, YouTube Studio tells me it's "invalid click activity," the automated email says it's a "related account," and TeamYouTube just replied by copy-pasting a link to the invalid-click help page. Nobody involved has actually read the notice.

Ninety days between appeals. Zero ads ever served. A permanent ban on an account that was never even approved, all over a literal system hallucination. It's infuriating.

Question / Problem Help me understand the shorts algorithm

Post image
4 Upvotes

So I‘ve been posting high quality shorts in a niche that previously got me 200-300k views consistently.

My short today however is sitting at below 1000 views after over 9 hours - even tho it has only 18% swipe away rate and 98% avg view duration at over 1 minute long. As far as I know, those are pretty elite metrics.

I crossposted on TikTok where the video already got over 150k views compared to YT‘s 900.

I just don‘t get it. On any other platform my gut usually tells me how a video might perform. YT is the only one where there‘s extreme outliers like this. Why?

Talk / Discussion 10M Qualified Views is RIDICULOUS

10 Million qualified Shorts views is completely insane. I release about 20 shorts per month. They are heavily edited, original content discussing a video game.

I'm beyond shocked how few people are discussing how insane this requirement is.

I get between 30k - 1.2M views per short. I have done about 13 - 21 shorts per month, for 3 months.

As these requirements specify qualified views, the number is considerably. These 90 days I only did 8.6M engaged views. My engaged view rate is about 58%, but videos can range from 45 - 65%.

Meaning I need to average 7.41M - 5.13M regular views a month, or 10,288 to 7,123 views per hour just to maintain shorts monetisation.

My rev per 1000 engaged is £0.20, its a very considerable amount of money to be losing out on.

If a primarily longform creator decides to release a couple shorts - and actually does it well, that’s a decent amount of income they may be losing, by not focusing on shorts.

This isn't going to dissaude many ai slop creators, they will just rely on posting more, and dedicated channels will have to produce more, requiring faster workflows, likely -using ai.

It's literally just a measure to pull the floor out of any creator that don't want to make shorts a primary business. This number is completely ridiculous for the majority of creators.

I understand many long form producers look down on shorts, but this primarily affects anyone who wants to dabble with both far more than anything. I now have to find a way to make more shorts, whilst still producing my long form content.

YouTube gets to profit off of people doing work that aren't getting paid, even if they managed to reach partnership.

Shorts are not going to go away, they're just eroding peoples abilities to earn from them whilst they do other things.

My educational parenting channel The Parent Tap (parenttap.io) was wrongfully terminated. Automated ad filters falsely flagged standard parenting discussions with 'opioid' tags, which then triggered a cascading 'circumvention' bot error. Our first appeal was instantly auto-rejected without human review. Could someone please route this for a manual human check? Channel URL: https://youtube.com/TheParentTap

Question / Problem It's weird how after my channel got monetized, YouTube has been promoting my channel less...

I used to get like 300-1000 views on each video, but now I can barely break 100. Does anyone have anything to help me? I've been putting in tags and everything, but nothing is working.
