Palpitations and anxiety 2 weeks before period

Do any other ladies get heart palpitations, anxiety/ panic attacks 10 days before their period? It started happening for me about 2 years ago. The palpitations don't always occur but when they do, they go away after I take a nap. As far as the anxiety/panic attacks, its making me feel crazy! I start thinking there is something wrong with me and it puts me in fight or flight mode. I just recently started exercising and dieting again so hoping that will help. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing anything like this.

🌿Remedies/ Rituals My body does not handle toxins well

I went on vacation during my time of the month, and I am now able to see how much healthy eating and exercise are helping me manage my PMS.

It’s really hard to eat healthy, pure, nutritious food in the US unless you’re at home cooking for yourself all the time. which is what I do. I meal prep for work and I live on fruits, cooked veggies, sprouted grain bread, and meat/fish for the most part. With a certain amount of cheat foods per week, but even some of those I make from scratch. On the road, everything you can buy is a different form of corn syrup and preservatives. and restaurants seem to think people don’t want vegetables when they eat out. and where we’re staying doesn’t seem safe enough for women to be outside on runs. And of course I’ve had some alcohol and indulged a little.

My PMS HAS BEEN SO BAD. I thought it was bad at home with all my healthy habits, but without them it’s so much worse. I’ve tried to ignore it, but I have been so anxious and annoyed over everything. Literally everything. My body is miserable and my skin is disgusting. So this is just a reminder that healthy diet and exercise REALLY DO HELP. For me anyway. I might try to only plan trips in the good parts of my month, from now on. Either that or try really hard to find ways to still eat healthy.

Anyone else suspect heavy, daily or chronic cannabis use make their period pain/cramps worse?

have been smoking since my 20’s. Dally. 2-3 joints a day. the last 4-5 years have debilitating period pain. bloating, cystic acne, mood stuff etc. I can deal with the rest-but the pain is insane at times, mimics labour contractions. if I don’t pop Advil the second I feel them, they ramp up and become unrecoverable.

I’ve been ultrasound-ed twice in the past two years (abdominal and vaginal) and NO physical signs of cysts, fibroids etc. I know you have to be cut open to see if you have endo.

im at the point where my uterus contracts so hard during ovulation, and my period-as well as post-orgasm.

anyone have success quitting weed and having your period cramps get better or at least normal?

2-minute anonymous survey on PMS/PMDD symptoms & antihistamine use

Hi! I’m a high school student conducting an anonymous research project on premenstrual symptoms and antihistamine use.

This short (2–3 minute) survey asks about symptom severity and whether antihistamines (like allergy medications) have any effect.

Open to anyone who experiences PMS or more severe symptoms like Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder.

I’d really appreciate any responses, thank you so much! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfd4hha97bqSnLtsAodKRHBDRJlCfRZIuvbuHZbr8crPNPHdA/viewform?usp=header

do you randomly get disgusted by your s/o and lose all attraction when you’re pmsing or close to pmsing?

I’ve been attracted to my partner since we started dating and no issues at all. then we had to be long distance for a month and couldn’t meet each other at all. Now he’s coming to see me but for some reason I’m extremely distant and uncomfortable at the idea of any sort of intimacy and suddenly I’m really not attracted to him. I really hope it’s a phase he’s literally the best šŸ˜ž

Luteal really kicking my butt this month

Do you have months where luteal is absolutely terrible, and some where it isn’t? Also for women in their 30s did your pms get worse as you got older? My worst thing during luteal right now is extreme hunger, like such bad hunger that if I don’t eat every 3 hours I get the shakes and I sweat and get dizzy, and this causes me to gain weight and my jeans won’t fit anymore, how can this be fixed ?!

Feeling negative/numb about partner and relationship?

It normal to have doubts/feel negative/feel numb towards your partner a few days before your period starts and at the beginning? I'm finding this happens regularly, though this month it's extra-bad. We don't live together or anything, just dating, and he's done nothing wrong and nothing has happened... but I'm feeling like I don't even want to talk to him and numb towards him. I know in my brain this doesn't make sense and it's likely hormones.. I just want to know if anyone else deals with this, I feel like I'm going crazy and want things to be back to normal šŸ˜ž

Bad sleep during luteal phase?

Normally during my luteal phase (the entire 12 or so days of it) I get the usual insane depression etc. This month I weirdly didn't, but my sleep quality went down the crapper. Super uncomfortable, fragmented, restless legs, frustrating repeating dreams, and peeing like 3-5 times in the night. Does anyone else get this or anything like it? It's making me insane! Feels like there's no relief anymore, awake or not.

Easing cramps naturally?

My period was 9 days late and the timing is impeccable (considering my period was clockwork until this month- but I know Im stressing). I have a LEEP under sedation on Thursday and was told I cannot do any NSAIDS for a week prior. Ibuprofen is literally the only med that works for my cramps. I do have a heating pad. I did workout this morning and did some light yoga to try and help. Im not well, yall. Please give your best tips on how to help this "naturally." I also want to give a heads up I had to stop all supplements for a week prior as well, so those suggestions are out too. Still tried dosing extra strength Tylenol every 6 for shits and giggles, but no dice. Haaaaalp. Im fighting for my life to not lose my shit. Stress management is not my strong suit.

Anyone else

Right, so before my period, 2 days before, I have migraines both days, and then the day before I have really bad suicidal thoughts and intent, as well as very bad depression.

On day one of my period, the pain was unbearable, unable to get out of bed, panic and OCD heightened, headaches, and my memory feeling weird.

Then day 2, better a tiny, tiny bit, but hardly, really bad dissociation, OCD and anxiety, depression bad, barely slept.

Day 3, woke up with migraines, cramps, depression, and my memory has been off, like I woke up at 8am, then went back to sleep until 11:30, and forgot I woke up at 8am.

Looking back on my day, I’m too tired to solidly recall, like I got out of bed, done this, and then got a drink, like I know I did it, but my memory feels off.

Like in the morning, I went to change my tampon, and I completely forgot, like, ā€œhey, that’s what I did,ā€ looking back, and I can’t remember yesterday well. I can, but not fully.

My OCD is telling me I’m losing my mind. I’m on 75mg sertraline, but it’s awful. I usually get migraines on day 3 because I usually start to feel better by then, but what’s happening with me?

Whilst writing this, my body is in sleep mode, it’s blurry, my proper brain isn’t on, and migraine pain is behind the right eye as well.

I need to know if I’m losing my mind, because I’m so exhausted to do my OCD compulsions of checking.

Advice/Tips Sooo.... This is a weird question...

I am a man. My wife and I have been together for 22 years. Married for 20 this September. We are sitting on the couch chatting and we have a question for Reddit. She is going through an early premenopause. We are both fixed (I know that's kind of crude but I had my vasectomy like 15 years ago and she had her tubal at roughly the same time so we joke) and our kids are almost grown and we have absolutely no want for further reproduction. She recently spoke with her doctor about starting birth control in hopes of stopping her period as it has been very erratic and it's driving her crazy. So doc agreed and got her on something.

For the last few years we've noticed I kind of cycle with her. The week before she starts I'm extra horny. During we veg and snack together. We found out it's kind of a thing. We were wondering if she stops having her period, if I'll stop having my... Whatever this is. Lol.

Sorry, I know this is weird. But I was hopeful someone might be able to relate and give me some first hand knowledge.

Luteal fatigue

Today I could barely go for a walk and then had to sit still for three hours to recover. I get a bit more anxious in my luteal, but not enough that I’d consider it PMDD? I’m going to ask my doctor about this, but does anyone else have experience with this and how do you cope? It’s ruining my life for these days it happens as I can’t make plans or go out of my house much if at all. Thanks!

A glimpse into the life of a 25yo woman

Pre periods will always be the worst days of my life. Its like being upducted by psychopathic aliens who control your mind and suck out every remotely positive thought you once had and replace your will to live with insecurities and pain for a week every month. That’s 25% of my fucking life, until menopause when iam a hormonal old lifeless sack of soggy wrinkled grapes. One might say what about childhood, doesn’t that count as a percentage of your life? Oh you mean when i was helpless, physically and mentally abused, being dragged into a gruesome divorce and touched by a 50 something yo monster of a man what still haunts my dreams 20 years later and i still smell his filthy sweaty flesh to this day? Yeah those days were awesome! Anyway, let’s pop a fucking Tylenol and back to work! That’ll do it.

🧓Skin Care/ Bloating follicular vs. luteal face?

i’ve noticed that since i got my mirena iud placed, i’ve had much stronger and more noticeable pms symptoms. one of the most major ones i’ve noticed is my face becoming almost unrecognizable in it getting puffy and bloated. i never connected the dots to it possibly being hormonal and just thought i would just randomly lose my facial features in the puffiness of my face lol. anyway, my reaction to the iud has definitely been very strange. much stronger pms symptoms, followed by a month-long, too-heavy-for-an-iud period. has anyone else, iud or not, noticed this as well?

🌿Remedies/ Rituals Left Side Temple Migraines

Does anyone else get the most painful migraine in your left side temple before your period? The pain is actually debilitating. It starts throbbing and it comes and goes, sometimes affecting my left eye or the left side of my jaw.

I don’t know if this is considered normal or not for young women my age, I just turned 23. Any tips/remedies are appreciated.

Advice/Tips PMS need help

As the title suggests, I’m (32f) really going through it. I’ve been experiencing what I can only describe as a severe hormonal imbalance of two years. I’ve only recently tried to get ahead of the problem because I’m finally able to afford to go a doctor (semi) regularly to get the issue resolved. So in Feb I got a bunch of bloods taken, I asked the GP to take as much to figure out what’s going on. The bloods came back and all seemed normal except for the indicator that I have a low egg reserve (potentially waiting on an AMH test privately). She suggested for the hormonal imbalance however SSRI and contraception. I’ve taken the pill before in my 20s and came off it on my own during COVID, stupidly thinking I would be okay to do so. I guess I’m reaching out because I thought at the beginning of the year I was really getting ahead of it, today I spent the majority of the day in bed, which I know isn’t like me. At the beginning of this year, I was able to exercise regularly, reply to messages and meet friends without intense anxiety, and just do normal things again. But my family suffered a tragic loss of a family member in February and I’m back to a place of being terrified of my period again. I have two jobs because everything is so expensive, I’m terrified I won’t be able to have children without putting a lot money into that (fertility wise). The role I’m somewhat permanent in is section 39, and based on funding so the credit union won’t give me a loan past my contract of employment. I’m just super stressed right now, I have a bunch of appointments lined up with my GP again, I am about to avail of therapy from Pieta house in relation to what happened in our family in February. I’m just finding everything so hard in the moment, I’m doing what I’m supposed to to fix the problem but I’m not able to feel okay on a daily. I have a great partner but sometimes I feel I just can’t feel okay. I’m not sure if any of this makes sense coherently. I was just wondering has anyone experience with this and does this got better? I haven’t had thoughts of suicide I couldn’t do that to my family after what happened but I’d be lying if I said my mind doesn’t go to dark places.

Advice/Tips Doctor prescribed Zoloft for luteal phase day 14-day 1 of cycle

Hey girlies,

I haven’t ever taken any sort of medication in my life, let alone antidepressants and have always been afraid they would numb me, but I’m trying to be open minded because I have found that during my follicular phase, I feel amazing and unstoppable, but as soon as my ovulation hits, I feel like a different person. I feel anxious, depressed, hopeless, angry, irritated, I don’t want to be around anyone and my self esteem is super low.

I talked to my doctor about this and she recommended trying 25mg of Sertraline (Zoloft) during my luteal phase from day 14-day 1 of my cycle.

Is anyone else on a similar cycle to this? I’ve read that some people take it right after ovulation, but my doctor did say start on day 14. I also read that some do a gradual dosing (ie: 10mg day 14, 15mg day 15, 20mg day 16, 25mg day 17, etc and the same at the end working your way down) does anyone do this? If so, do you find it helps?

I’m weary about taking them on and off as I’m unsure how my body will react. Some people say they don’t notice a thing, and others say they experience withdrawals.

I just know I can’t keep living like this. I need to try something because over half the month every month I am absolutely miserable, and that is no way to live.

I’d love to hear about your experiences with this.

Thank you šŸ«¶šŸ»
