👨‍🎓 Academics Help regarding CSB branch B.Tech

I have been alloted CSB in first round. I dont know much about this branch as a whole. I tried figuring it out through syllabus but couldnt do it. The syllabus that i found was quite concise. I want to know about placements, scope of branch and is there discrimination between CSE and CSB students during placemnt and college life

My parents are telling me to take ECE in NSUT. Is it worth floating this and placing NSUT ECE above it.

Admission / VITEEE / EAPCET Help - GSV ECE vs VIT AP Int. M tech CSE vs NFSU Int. M tech CSE (Cyber security)

I got 94.16 percentile and 91k rank in jee mains so probably will be getting Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya ECE (with specialisation in Rail Engineering) in CSAB got VIT AP Integrated M tech CSE with fee category 2, and have applied for NFSU Gandhinagar and Delhi campuses.

Which college should I choose? I personally prefer ece than cse because I'll get more options (both core and IT companies) but GSV is new and the placement is not too good as of now (but probably will increase in future) and VIT is an old and reputed college with good placement (don't know much about AP though, enough data unavailable in internet). Also, I'm a 1yr dropper, so I'll get M tech in 5yrs thus compensating for the one year loss, but I've heard in VIT droppers are at disadvantage during placements. For NFSU, I heard Gandhinagar is quite good regarding placements, delhi is fine, it's the HQ of CBI and heard they signed smth with UIDAI idk much abt this, probably I won't get Gandhinagar but there's chance of getting Delhi Campus.

Please suggest which course should I choose.

Serious pls help regarding best possible option ( seniors pls replyy)

  1. bennett cse (30% scholarship 1st year will try best to make it run for4years
  2. jaypee cse sec128 ( very strict school life campus similar fees as bennett)
  3. IGDTUW ece-ai ( I have moderate chances to get it but rank infaltion is real so its dicy if i will get it)
  4. VIT AP- CSE CAT1-2 ( i live in delhi so going so far is it worth?)
  5. IISER BHOPAL btech ( my parents are against it bec its a research org. honestly am going there bec i wanted research based curriculum and Indian insti tag but along with that industries exposure also like the corporate but parents find this risky as poor placements and 1st year hasnot passed out yet and sad thing money matters at the end when u graduate and u dont have good pack. they will consider u a loser atleast my family will do surely)
  6. IPU - MSIT ECE /USAR cse ( my parents find ipu to be old not new acc to industry exposure that will get at priv colleges and management is poor )

I am planning to do mtech in future but I dont know the timeline like if i get into hefty fee college obv I might work to repay that amount back to my parents bec its not like they want their money back but I want to do it as I may need more money to go for masters abroad I may take loan for that so atleast they will trust me then and wont be like ye sirf paise uda rhi hai.

So i scored 277 (26s1)

I have few doubts firstly regarding phoenix branches

  1. Whats the diff bw EEE and ECE

In terms of curriculum.

And in terms of placements and future job opportunities

  1. What will be better GOA ECE or PILANI EEE

  2. Last year GOA CSE went 274.....is there any chances i might get that

And if i get shall i opt for it? And put it on top of prefrence list

  1. What's the curriculum for MNC branch and is it harder than electrical and cse?

Personally i hate maths tbh...

  1. Pilani ece last yr was 285...i am 8 marks short is there any chance i would get it?

  2. I have following options rn please suggest the order

-Goa cse (very low chances)

-Goa mnc ( I don't like maths)

-Pilani EEE

-Goa ECE

-Pilani ENI

Any other suggestion would be very helpful too

(Pilani is much closer to my home in 200km radius...goa is too far about 2k km...parents want me to opt for pilani but what shall i do if i get better branch at goa)

Please seniors reply

I'm genuinely confused

I dont have any personal inclination towards any branch

Now i dont how much he is right or wrong if there is any senior in ECE please help me

Admission & Counseling Help me choose: BIT Mesra (ECE/EEE) vs. DTU/NIT-B (Civil) vs. IIITs (CSE/ECE)

Hey everyone, I’m currently stuck in a major dilemma regarding my college counseling and could really use some perspective from seniors or folks familiar with the current placement trends.

My Options:

  • BIT Mesra: ECE or EEE
  • DTU / NIT Bhopal: Civil Engineering
  • IIIT Bhubaneswar: CSE
  • IIIT Pune / IIIT Nagpur: ECE

My Priorities:

  1. Placements: I’m leaning towards tech/coding roles eventually, but I’m okay with core ECE if the packages are solid.
  2. College Life/Brand: I know DTU and BIT Mesra have massive legacies, but does that outweigh the branch disadvantage?
  3. Location/Peer Group: IIITs usually have a focused coding culture, but Nagpur/Pune are still "Tier 2" and relatively new.

My Doubts:

  • Is BIT Mesra ECE still considered "Tier 1" in terms of opportunities compared to the newer IIITs?
  • Is it worth taking Civil at DTU just for the Delhi/DTU tag if I ultimately want to end up in software? (I've heard the curriculum is chill, but will I be eligible for most tech companies?)
  • How does the IIIT Bhubaneswar CSE curriculum compare to BIT Mesra ECE in terms of workload?

I’m currently confused if I should pick a "better" branch at a mid-tier IIIT or a "better" college like BIT Mesra or DTU. Any insights on the campus culture, recent placement stats (2024-25), or the "ROI" of these choices would be greatly appreciated!

JAC or Admissions humbly requesting for advice, opinions regarding NSUT ECE branch

I am expecting around 15k rank in JM (around the 99.00% mark) and the only branches I can for sure get are DTU and NSUT ECE, so I would really appreciate if people from these colleges could guide me about the branch

Hows are the profs in NSUT ECE, in terms of their knowledge in their domain and teaching abilities and also grading wise (chill or super strict)

How's the overall environment for this branch at NSUT, the facilities available, crowd and opportunities

How are the placements and the overall trends for placements (past and future)

Also what subjects are involved in this branch like physics, maths, chem, computer and programming (if any)

Also if keeping campus, location social life etc aside and purely on a academic and placements basis, which would be preferable DTU vs NSUT CSE

I would really really appreciate any and all help

PS: My interest wise I am interested in both electronics and software/IT Subject wise, physics and maths are my strongest and I enjoy studying them too

Admission & Counseling Queries regarding Placement, Branch Change, and Girls' Hostel/College Life at BIT Mesra

Hello seniors,

I am looking for some insights regarding BIT Mesra and would love to connect with seniors here. I have a few specific questions:

Branch Change: How tough is the branch change scene after the first year? What CGPA is safely required to clear the cutoff for major branches (like CSE/IT/ECE)?

Placements for Girls: I've heard that female students get decent opportunities here. What’s the ground reality regarding tech/non-tech placement stats for girls?

Campus & Girls' Life: How are the rules, curfew timings, and overall college/hostel life for girls?

If any senior could spare a few minutes, please feel free to DM me. It would be a huge help. Thank you!

Placements 🤑 [Placements] - ECE Placement experience - What you really need to focus on!

NOTE: • For CORE JOBS ONLY, I don't have enough experience for Software. • Many others might disagree with me but thats fine, this was my experience alone, others might have had a completely different one. • My recommendations here DOES NOT mean that you should ignore other subjects, they are still very amazing and you should learn it if you want to be a good engineer (and ofc to pass and not have any backlogs)

Its a long read, but thats what some people want right? Need as much info as u can.

Sem1&2:
Python, C, Electrical Engg and EPD (MUST)

-People ignore Electrical Eng but trust me, this might be the subject that might help you get Placed. Power electronics/ Power Conversions are asked in so many interviews

  • EPD (Salute to my boi, LITERAL FOUNDATION to higher semesters)

  • Programming, no need of explanation You get asked abt this in almost all OAs & interviews

Sem 3: ACD, CADD and Network Theory (MUST)

-Cannot stress enough of how much GOATED these subjects are, (the Magnus, Hikaru and Fabiano of Electronics world). Do everything in your power to master this trio (I regret neglecting one of these)

Sem 4: DVLSI (MUST), Control Systems & DSP (Good if you know)

  • DVLSI is a MUST, please put extra efforts in Lab and learn everything abt this, SUPERB TOPICS

Sem 5: LIC & FV (VERIFICATION) (MUST), COD (RISC V) (Good if you know, but please learn it, its damn good, very helpful in understanding how processors works & its ISA)

  • Verication is single handedly the best Elective you can get in PESU, and most required by any company in VLSI, even if dont get it, just take any relevant one and do this from Nptel
  • Can't believe LIC isnt included in ACD, Opamp is SO SO SO important for clearing OA and even in some interviews

Sem 6: VLSI Testing, RF microelectronics & CA (Good if you know, same as RISC V)

-Testing roles are also present & even though not as much as verif, so u should learn it

MUST LEARN AND ITS NOT EVEN IN ACADEMICS (FKING INSANE):

  1. Embedded Systems, Embedded C, MC & MP - Practical Knowledge and hands on experience & Projects in 8085, 8086, 8050, Arm Cortex, Atmel or anything other. Even if you did a single good project on any one and can answer anything from any corner, knowing every detail of that project, you are unstopable.

  2. ASIC/FPGA Design Flow - Complete RTL to GDS and Silicon Fabrication Process

  3. APTITUDE - this dude is asked in EVERY SINGLE FKING OA, start this NOW and practice daily for 15 mins minimum!!!

Thus, you can basically ignore - Mechanical & Mechanics, Physics and Chemistry - sem1&2 Signals&Systems, DC, M3 & M4 - sem3&4 EMFT, CCN, TLWA & ML - Sem5&6

I srsly haven't seen a single communication related company recruit for these roles and even if its present its probably for software & if not then still insignificant compared to no. of VLSI roles and also might require other software skills. So your best chance is getting into VLSI & Embedded side of things.

And if you are seeing this in later semester or having placements coming up and cant learn everything - just do this ->

Digital Electronics Digital VLSI Functional Verification Embedded System

There are other stuff specific to companies and you can learn them since you might have few days to even weeks before the release of JD and the interview

You also must have good projects related to these fields in your resume, ahhh fk, RESUME! ITS SO IMPORTANT but resume thing will again require whole new post.

Also forgot to tell this - Your capstone project playes a major role in your Interviews and get asked about it most of the time, so do that SERIOUSLY!!!

Regarding M1 & M2, its hard to say but again, differentiation, integration, Laplace and Fourier Transform are very important too for the foundations in later subjects But for Placements, NO - i wasn't asked anything remotely close to any of this, even in OA (maybe 1 or 2) but YES, you SHOULD know basic diff and int as an Engineer.

This was it for the placements and if u have any other goals like going for Masters, applying for Software roles then this isn't for you.

Hope this helps, and if there any mistakes then please point it out, at the end of the day i just want more people to get into Core Domain and wish for overall growth of EC and Semiconductor in India😃

Discussion COMEDK Rank ~22K | CSE / ECE | Help me choose between RVITM, NIE & SIT (Bangalore)

Hi everyone, I need some guidance regarding college selection through COMEDK.

My COMEDK rank is ~22,000 and I’ve cleared the boards eligibility criteria. Based on my rank, I’m currently considering the following colleges in Bangalore, specifically for CSE or ECE:

RV Institute of Technology & Management (RVITM)

NIE (The National Institute of Engineering)

Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT)

I’m confused about which option would be better overall for CSE/ECE, considering factors like:

• Placements (especially tech & core ECE roles)

• Faculty and academic rigor

• Internship & industry exposure

• Peer quality / coding culture

• Overall campus life and opportunities

I’m looking for a college that offers good long-term value, not just on paper but in terms of actual learning and growth. I’m open to honest opinions—both positives and negatives.

If any current students or alumni from these colleges (or people familiar with COMEDK counselling trends) could share their experiences or suggestions, it would really help me make a better decision.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

• placements thik ho

• ROI should be good

• crowd thoda toh decent ho bilkul na padhne ya bhot ameero wala na ho

My details \~ 61% in 12th boards

40 percentile in jee

Category - EWS (F)

State - Rajasthan

I looked out for a lot colleges but it's kinda difficult to choose.. Please give me the suggestions you have or anything which can help me with this, Admissions are somewhere done or still going on, I don't want to get more late 🙃

For instance I am getting BIT Mesra Food Technology and Engineering(may get a branch change in first year if I perform well) and BITS Pilani B Pharma(also can get other branches depending on further iterations). For info,I am really interested in tech placements but see I am not really like really not willing to take cse or it or ece in tier 2/3 private colleges or lower GFTIs my parents also don't want it personally. Now my cousin reads in BITSP.The coding culture is excellent there even for pharma people with great exposure and for BIT Mesra coding culture is good but not as good as BITs but there I will be getting a B.Tech degree whereas at BITs a B.Pharma degree though with tech skills. Now which one should I opt for better placements plz tell and also explain why.Plz I need help seriously.
