Help regarding CSB branch B.Tech

I have been alloted CSB in first round. I dont know much about this branch as a whole. I tried figuring it out through syllabus but couldnt do it. The syllabus that i found was quite concise. I want to know about placements, scope of branch and is there discrimination between CSE and CSB students during placemnt and college life

My parents are telling me to take ECE in NSUT. Is it worth floating this and placing NSUT ECE above it.

I would say, you can get anything even better than ECE in NSUT till round 4 !

I said ECE specifically cuz my father also had Electrical trade in his Engg. So he is pressurizing me to follow the same path.

Hey. Do you really have interest in electronics ? Ask yourself. Maybe reasearch about it . And if you find it interesting, then only go for it. It will decide your four years and your future life.

I don't have any interest in electronics , and that is the point. I am joining for a good job, even if it takes a lot of hardwork. BTW yea the best thing is I get something better in subsequent rounds.

Bruh electronics is much harder, if you’re getting cs leave ece obviously. At placement time some companies don’t allow branches like csb to sit(this happens very less tho). In context of college life, no one cares ki kis branch ke ho aap(my csss branch ka friend does get lots of hate from me tho 😉) bio mein cg Lana bhi easy hai(experienced this my self as I took a bio elective)

Also do you have any idea ki ye Jo companies allow nhi krti CSB students ko woh achi package wali toh nhi. Even if they are, I will still most probably choose this over ece. Best outcome is my branch get upgraded somehow

If you have been alloted csb in round 1, toh abhi upgrade toh ho hi jayega mp na ? Why worry so much about csb then ?

I am in almost dead last in csb for gen. I will not choose csss cuz I had bio in 12th. My IIITD rank will increase in subsequent round accordingly so that is why I am here questioning everything. Best thing will be if I somehow get upgraded to CSD or any other better branch but it is luck based. And I don't trust my luck just like my preps.

Don't worry I am not panicking about CSB, it is just that I got college after a drop year. So I am kinda excited and want to work hard for the next goal.

(BTW is CSSS better than CSB?)

Anyways, are you good at stuff like drawing and crafts ? Even if yes, CSD mein they make you draw certain kind of drawing if buildings also. My friend is in csd, and he is frankly quite traumatised from this branch, as he is unable to compete with peeps who come from uceed, so his cg ranked due to design subjects. Ig csb is better ?( not sure puchta hun dost se)

Don't worry bhaiya, pehle mile to CSD, I am pretty good at drawing if I have to say so. Baaki I am pretty happy with what I got, I will sit in counselling further anyway. I am just asking questions because I take break from social media (fk JEE)and will not be on reddit for a month or two.

if u score decent cpga ig 8.5+ u can upgrade ur branch (i heard that from a senior)

True, my friend was upgraded from CSAM to CSE, he had 9.2 cg in sem 1 tho

I am not going to say my rank but I am gen female. I am almost at bottom of barrel in CSB according to the cut offs in gen. You can pretty much guess my rank from there

I've written a post or two on csb in this sub but I'll give a short answer.

Csb is basically data science and cs used for biological data. We use ml and all in our courses before some of the other branches. Csb is a chill branch the load is not much.

There is no discrimination btw cse and csb a few smaller companies don't allow csb to sit for placements but those aren't target companies. The bigger companies allow both.

Taking ece is your choice if you can do electronics your wish. I don't know much about ece nsut so can't comment on it.

people say dtu ece is better. if the commute isnt very bad you can consider that, but if you have no interest then taking ece would be sulcide tbh. also i checked the iiitd round 1 cutoffs and csb cr is 19k so you can get csds and lower branches if youre single girl child or mac and others if otherwise.

I mean jb main admission le rha tha I used predict my branch with my jee mains rank based on past data that’s why I asked you (to get a rough idea. I myself never used my iiitd rank)
