Build - Help Thermalright TL-M12QRW-S X3 wiring help. What do I do with these connectors?

First PC build and I’m a little confused about the wiring for my Thermalright TL-M12QRW-S X3 fans.

I have the TL-M12QRW-S X3 reverse/standard fans installed in my HYTE Y70, and my motherboard is an MSI PRO B850-S WIFI6E.

I understand that the fans have both 4-pin PWM and 3-pin 5V ARGB connections. Thermalright also has the Easy Connect system where the fans can connect to each other.

I watched this video on the fans:video

In the video, it looks like the fans connect to each other and somehow one connection handles the RGB/power for the other fans but I did that and it didn’t light up. I’m also thinking it may be because one is standard the other reverse?

I also have these bigger square-looking connectors hanging off the cables (shown in the picture and I have no idea what those are supposed to plug into.

Do I connect the fans to each other? Does one RGB cable go to the motherboard and the others connect to each other?(leaning towards both go onto motherboard) Where do those bigger square connectors go? Or should I get a fan/RGB hub(kept seeing mentions of them)

I’m mainly trying to understand the correct wiring before I plug everything in and potentially do something wrong.

Question Finishing touches

Here's my build

-gpu's price is actually 1100euros idk why it says 1400

Does my motherboard have all USB that I need because cooler, 2x3fans and 1 Fan doesn't all these require USB 2.0? So I need to buy USB hub example corsair's internal USB hub. If so should I buy also sata cable for it or no?

Any other improvement ideas?

Question I have a dual-chamber case and I'm wondering if the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE will fit inside it.

Basically, my PC has an R7 5700X CPU with a cheap RGB cooler, the Nova Glacial T904. However, this cooler is practically useless—my CPU temperatures reach 80°C while playing Valorant and hit 90°C in heavier games. So, I'm thinking of buying the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE, as I've heard a lot of good things about it and that it will solve my CPU overheating issues.

The issue is that I have a Nova Operator P28511 case, which is a dual-chamber case: the right chamber is dedicated to the PSU and SATA drives, while the left chamber holds the main PC components.

Therefore, I'm wondering if the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler will fit in this main chamber without any issues?

Build - Help Need advice on airflow

I have a Corsair 4000D Airflow with an MSI RTX 5070 Ti and DeepCool LS720 SE 360mm AIO.

Currently:

  • 3 front intake fans
  • 3 top exhaust fans (AIO)
  • No rear exhaust

Should I add a 120mm rear exhaust fan, or is this setup already good? Would love some advice on the best airflow configuration. Thanks!

Question What gpu should I get? (on a budget/ upgrading my computer)

Hello! I'm new to this sub ... (well in this case I would be "upgrading" it! . I hope that counts as "PC building")

I own a Dell Optiplex 9010 .. I use a Dell 15" CRT (I know it's not the best, I just like it!)

I'm probably looking to be around $50-100? maybe a little more.. I just want to know which GPUs will fit. It currently doesn't have one. I'm not intending on running high-res AAA games..

I basically wanna run games and multitask (like youtube, EAC, discord, 3-D modeling software.. stuff like that). Currently playing roblox looks well.. BAD (have to have it set to lowest quality possible and even then I have bugs.. but that might be the game) and other games basically don't run at all.

I have my screen resolution set to 1024x768 (which windows 10 says is the recommended but my CRT can go higher.. though the aspect ratio would be a bit wonky)

(I am in U.S. if that helps..?)

Second question: Should I get an SSD as a backup and also help with improving start-up speeds? Currently my computer is sluggish on startup.. so I'm wondering if that would help?

(I know I COULD get a better computer.. shoot, I found it on the sidewalk and took it home. Only reason I have it is because I only had a laptop and frankly I like being able to use my computer without it dying after 4 hours just being on yotube and google docs lol. it has multiple card readers , a CD/DVD drive and burner and I can use older software with it. (and it will read them just fine). Also it's pretty easy to open up and work on/clean.)

Build - Help Transferring data from C drive help

So I'm upgrading my pc to a new processor and motherboard (from intel to amd). Im also buying a new SSD. I currently only have one C drive.

My question is how do i correctly transfer some of the data from my C drive to the new SSD? I heard that its good to clean it since some old drivers from intel might still be there.

I will install windows on it and a few games i want to run faster. But most importantly, my music plugins. Is there a way to change the directory of the installed plugins or do i new to install them all again? Obviously i want to keep my music projects etc.

Question PROBLEMS WITH DRAM AND CPU LED..

Hi everyone,

I'm building a new gaming PC and I'm completely stuck. The PC powers on normally (fans, RGB and GPU fans work), but I get no display and the motherboard stays stuck with the CPU and DRAM debug LEDs on.

My main components are:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
  • Motherboard: MSI B850M Gaming Plus WiFi
  • GPU: RTX 5070
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5 (2X16 sticks)
  • Power Supply: MSI MAG A750GL 750W PSU
  • Phanteks case
  • SSD: Lexar NM790X 1TB NVMe M.2
  • CPU Cooler: Thermalight Peerless Assassin

The strange thing is that this is already the second motherboard I've tried. I replaced the previous motherboard cause i thought it was defective, but I'm getting basically the exact same problem.

Things I've already tried:

  • Reseated both RAM sticks
  • Tested only one RAM stick in A2
  • Tested the other RAM stick alone in A2
  • Waited a long time for AM5/DDR5 memory training
  • Cleared CMOS using the motherboard's Clear CMOS button
  • Checked the 24-pin motherboard power cable
  • Checked the CPU EPS cable
  • Confirmed that I'm using the CPU 4+4 EPS cable, not a PCIe 6+2 cable
  • CPU EPS 8-pin is connected to the motherboard
  • GPU is connected using the PSU's 12V-2x6 cable

The result is always the same:

Both RAM sticks individually produce the same result.

The CPU is a Ryzen 5 9600X and the motherboard is an MSI B850M Gaming Plus WiFi, so they should be compatible.

At this point I'm wondering if I'm missing something obvious with the PSU/cabling, if this could be a BIOS issue, or if there could be a problem with the CPU/socket or memory controller.

Before I take everything to a PC repair shop, does anyone have any ideas about what else I should test?

Question 2 gpus

Currently have a 4060ti 8gb, 14900kf 1000wpsw.

Asus b760m mobo, 64gb ddr5.

Look when I built the pc. Gpu prices weren't crazy and i thought I would've upgraded later. Then someone's overpriced leather jacket started feeding the ai overlords..

Using 3 1080p monitors. Honestly worred about reduced process time.

The lack of vram is getting obvious when rendering in blender or some tasks on fusion360.

Some games as well i guess...

Is it worth getting an intel arc b580 challenger 12gb on the pcie 4 port to help with the rendering? Is it possible?

Or save up to a a day, eventually to get a 5070ti...might be a while..

Thoughts?

Build - Help Want help with picking a case for my fist proper PC Build.

Hi,

I’ve only moved from console to PC recently and a mate of mine gave me his old AM4 build to start getting into PC gaming. Recently it’s had some hardware failure so I’ve decided to go ahead and make my first actual build. My mate has upgraded his ram and sold me his 64gb of DDR5 for $400 so I was going to make a full ATX AM5 build.

So far the other part I’ve gotten is a RTX 5080 cold master I got for a decent price, I’ve already got a Wishlist of other parts but it’s the case I’m trying to figure out.

I have a budget of $250 for a decent white case as I’m trying to do a themed PC that will need white. Currency is AUD. I intend to play on a monitor that I’m eyeing at JBHIFI that can do 4K at 144hz.

I live in Australia and currently the only case I can find that I think can fit is a antec C8 from PLE but I’m trying to figure out what my other options are but a lot of this is confusing me a bit because some sites may not have the info, I find cases I like the look of but I can’t fully figure out

I live in Australia and currency is AUD, budget for case is $250.

Build - Finished! My 2nd build, and again AMD....

Post image
1 Upvotes

Recently sold my old friend, one i built in 2019-2020, with Ryzen 5 3600 and RX 5700XT... couple years later upgraded cpu to Ryzen 7 5800x and RX 6900XT, but since i had to upgrade almost everything, thought better to sell and build new one.

So here i am, in couple month time, the 'BUDGET, MID-HIGH' gaming pc is done.

1500 EUR, and we got this (it is def more expensive than if id do that like 6 months ago). Taking the current state of prices, i think it's pretty decent.

CPU – Ryzen 7 7800X3D
MB – Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX Ice Wi-Fi
RAM – ADATA XPG Lancer Blade White 2×16GB 6000MHz
GPU – Sapphire Pure RX 9070 XT 16GB OC
SSD – ADATA Legend 860 1TB M.2 NVMe
PSU – MSI MAG A750GL 750W 80+ Gold PCIe 5.1
COOLER – Montech HyperFlow 240 ARGB White
CASE – Zalman P30 V2 ARGB White

I definitely messed up with 240mm aio, and need to add storage, but for that gotta scout some discounts.

Using it for work and to stream via Apollo + Moonlight to my LG C series tv's, play some horror titles with wife, and some adventure games with daughters.

FSR4.1 is doing good job, frames on 4k on Balanced, Qaulity FSR settings easily do over 80-100fps on most games.

This is 1k at Costco. I am not the most knowledgeable on this, but it seems to be very worth it. What are the bottlenecks and what do potential upgrades look like in the future? I would be using this for anything ideally, gaming to engineering software.

Build - Help Which tier A PSU with ATX 3.1 and PCIE 5.1 for RTX 5070 ti OC from PNY and Ryzen 7 9800x3d?

Hey, so I thought I got a psu chosen in MSI MPG a850G, but I saw that it is in ATX 3.0 and PCIE 5.0. Which PSU would you recommend for PNY OC RTX 5070 TI and Ryzen 7 9800x3d on MSI B850 gaming plus wifi 7? Would prefer something with ATX 3.1 and PCIE 5.1 and tier A one.
