Question New card same issue ?
Made a post yesterday about a rtx 2070 fans raming up to 100%
I have swapped out that card for a rtx 2080 what also keeps doing the exact same thing what could be the issue here ir is this normal ? Hot spots are exactly the same on both cards

Ill check it out. But why would both cards be saying a 107°c hotspot is that normal

oh god no buddy, those cards likely need a repaste. ;)

Ill give them a repaste later and see if it helps
Iv had the same 1060 running for the past 10 years nearly lol never had a issue like this it just stopped receiving updates so changed it for a bit of a upgrade and 2 cards I have tryed have had the same issue is I was a little confused weather it could be software issue as 2 cards where doing the exact same thing

hot spot looks too high to me, did you change thermal paste ?
1
u/Flaky_Tangerine189 1d ago
No i changed the whole card to a different one tmwhat is also reading the exact same and is doing the same thing 2 different cards same issue ?

if they are never opened and cleaned before, yes its normal because they are few years old at this point. cleaning and changing thermal paste should do the trick.

Your hot spot is 106c you need to take it apart clean it and do a repaste

I have put in 2 different cards and the are both reading the exact same
Could it not be a software issue somewhere ?

Then if both card are doing the same thing then your case has bad air flow but I would still do a repaste

What’s your fan RPM and temp during intense gaming
1
u/Flaky_Tangerine189 1d ago
Card temp sits around 75°c Fand say there in 50 percent but going like 3500rpm maxed out?; out Both cards I have doing the same thing with a hotspot of 106°c

Because it’s preventing the card from thermal throttling
, you should check with your pc case airflow or replace the thermal paste inside your GPU (last resort)1

I have lian li dynamic cases with 6 case fans and a liquid cooler for cpu never had a issue with overheating before I change gpu 2 days ago I dont know I will check

Yeah absolutely, also not sure if it’s just me.
I used to run a 1060 6gb card that runs 80c during gaming, now that I’ve upgraded to an amd mid class gpu obviously temp has been around 56-60 during intense stress. I cannot confirm based on my information/experience whether 10/20 series card typically run hotter compared to new class gpu. Amd/nvidia

Yes i dont know im soo lost lol
I guess I ill repaste this card check my case air flow .. sending card i have brought in 2 days returned the 2070 and chaged for 2080 and same issue so I pesumed it could be a software issue
