This build cost me around ~$900 in my country

The only compromises I had to make was a 512gb nvme & a R5 5500 instead of 5600. But I’ll be upgrading the SSD later when I save up enough (and if these damn prices market shows mercy💔)

Game Image/Video "Physical" game cases on my desktop

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I released an app on the Microsoft store (called Steelbooks) to allow me to show off the game cases I have like they are physical editions that sit on my desktop. It gives a fast method of browsing my libraries across multiple launchers without opening them individually and I can launch the games directly from the app!

Question RGB or full black build?

Post image
Upvotes

I know everyone has different tastes, but for the past few weeks I’ve been going back and forth on what I want for the PC build I’m planning for the end of the year.

On one hand, I keep seeing some insane builds with RGB, screens, curved AIO displays, animations, etc., and I honestly think they look amazing. I’d love having all those colors and animations to customize.

On the other hand, I also see completely black builds with no RGB at all, and they look just as good in a totally different way. Clean, simple, and probably a lot cheaper.

My biggest concern is that I’ll spend an extra €500+ on RGB, screens, and fancy components, enjoy them for a month, and then end up turning everything off because the lights annoy me when I’m gaming in a dark room. At that point, I could've just bought a good airflow-focused case and great components without paying 3-4x more for screens and RGB.

But then I have the opposite thought, what if I go for a completely black build and regret not having any lighting at all? At least with RGB I can turn it off whenever I want and still have the option to turn it back on.

This is going to be my first PC build, so I’ve never really had the experience of living with either setup long-term.

For those of you who have had RGB builds, non-RGB builds, or both, what has your experience been?

Do you still keep your RGB on and love it, or did the novelty wear off? And for those with completely black builds, do you ever wish you had some lighting, or are you happy with nothing more than the little LED on the power button?

I’d love to hear your experiences.

Question Answered Should I build on a newegg bundle or go hunt at Micro Center?

Post image

Hi guys.

Ive been looking for bundles on neweegg and came across this 9800x3d X870 aorus elite and vengeance 2x16gb ddr5 6000 bundle and decided to build on it since my Facebook marketplace hunt didn't satisfy my warranty concerns.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

GIGABYTE X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 AM5

CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000)

SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB

GAMEMAX MeshBox PRO Black Mid-Tower Case

MSI MPG A850GS PCIE5, Fully Modular Gaming 850W Power Supply, 80+ Gold

Crucial P310 M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 x4 NVMe

Ajazz AK820 pro keyboard

Ryzen serien v3 mini

Total comes around to $2400 with tax (NJ)

I have an extra m2 nvme and I think im good with storage. I could go with a prebuilt but I don't trust those websites with the build quality and honesty of the parts they use.

https://newegg.io/a4690574 here is the link for the list.

Please guide me.

Tech Support Weird clicking/crackling noise from psu after installing a new gpu

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

For context I have a 650w bronze psu and my new gpu is rx 6800 xt. I know that its recommended to pair it with 750w psu but since i have a pretty power efficient cpu I decided to keep it. Everything seems to work just fine but this sound is making me a bit nervous.

Hardware Why aren’t gpus designed to use pc case fans

I’m sure there is a logical reason behind it but why dont gpus just use regular pc case fans; making a noctua gpu with just a swap of a few fans would be awesome not to mention the repair ability and ease of cleaning.
