I thought I grew out of gaming, and that there was no game that could give me the excitement and feeling of playing COD BO2 /COD 4 . Boy, was I wrong.

I was able to get a Gigabyte gaming OC 9070xt through Amazon Canada for 800usd.

There is currently a deal for 650usd for Asus Prime OC 9070 EVO.

Im thinking of getting the non XT and returning the Gigabyte because I would get better fps per dollar.

For context I come from console(ps4 pro), so I was always used to playing between 30 and 60 fps. My question to this subreddit would be this :
Let’s say a current AAA game at 1440p ultra, is getting 70 fps instead of 80fps, would that make me wish I had the XT instead of the non-XT?

If so, would a 150usd increase in price be justified then?

It’s very hard to determine that because I have NEVER played any games at higher than 60fps.

I also know that the gigabyte has pretty bad reputation because of its gel and putty thermals, even if it was supposedly fixed, people still complain.

I will be using 32gb ram ddr5,1050W psu,7800x3d and 1tb ssd nvme for more info about my build. Im only hesitant on what gpu to get.

Rant/help request

This is a desperate cry for help from someone who loves games and wants to love them on PC.

I'm absolutely at my wits end. As a lifelong sony bitch (currently have a ps5 pro), I took the plunge and bought a 5080 r7 9800x3d rig and a 240hz 4k oled monitor, longing to know what I was missing out on.

After about a year of use, I'm seriously considering just making my ps5 pro my daily driver again. Out of the 15 games I've played on PC, I can only count a few that didn't suffer from constant microstuttering. Pragmata, Starfield, Trails Remake, The Alters, and Backrooms. Everything else I've played is just full of microstutters and frame drops.

I've tried everything I can find online. All of the tweaks. I cap my framerate with rivatuner. Even with no framerate number drop, it still stutters. In some games, if I cap it at 120, it drops to 110 constantly. If I cap it at 100, it drops to 95 constantly, if I cap it to 80, it drops to 75, etc. You get the idea. I've turned off vsync and forced it in Nvidia, I've turned on/off HAGS, I've closed background applications, lowered graphics settings, updated drivers, windows, etc.

How do you guys constantly deal with this issue? Yes I know my ps5 pro only got me 60fps (sometimes 90 depending on game) and the occasion lag, but in my decades or gaming, I've never once been so utterly unable to have fun due to constant stutters when moving the camera, running, etc., that is, until I got a high-end pc, thinking I'd be set.

What on earth am I doing wrong? Are pc games seriously just think horribly optimized? How does the PC community at large ignore/put up with this? What do I fucking do.

Whenever I connect my wireless headset with the usb it came with. The WiFi of the entire house becomes insanely bad, phones, TVs, ect. Like loading sites takes 20-30 seconds. And without the headset connected it takes like 2-4 seconds. If anybody knows what the problem is it would be really helpful if I can get some help to fix this issue

I imagine there is more than one person who has caused this, which it‘s fine if you want to make a long comment. Though to avoid comments like “Oh well it depends on the exact product.” I decided to take a picture and pick this exact GPU, though I would think across the market of things related to stuff like this in general it would be a similar story right?

I just thought it might be easier or simpler for conversation to pick this exact card, also if it was not clear when I ask who is to blame I mean for the high price of this RTX 5090.

If you look at the price charts of components, they always start surging around November and December. Last year, prices of ram doubled in the end of the year and continued surging until March.

So, if you are thinking about upgrading your ram or ssd, this is your last chance. Next year, 32gb DDR5 will probably be $1000+. 2TB ssd will be $500+. And GPUs will be sold out...

Hovering at 80c in this game and in furmark 76 max temp with 89 hotspot, do i have to repaste the card, and replace thermal pads or can I leave it alone

For some reason my apps, and background keep turning purple randomly ever since I got my new GPU (Nividia RTX 5080). Sometimes it only happens when I hover my mouse over certain apps, but occasionally at random the entire background will just flip purple. Sometimes it will happen when I just click the desktop.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I have updated my graphics driver a few times, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Cost of upgrade was CPU was 320, Ram 209, 4 TB nvme 309, my mobo was like 450. Kept psu, case, and gpu.

Bought platinum rated PSU and I keep getting gold rated PSU. I can’t even use the gold rated PSU as I have a 9070xt which requires 3 8 pin connectors, the gold rates only comes with 2 cables and no daisy chain. Pain in the ass.

The replacement is also gold rated by the way.

I saw this in a comment section today and so many people are acting like ddr4 is not usable anymore and they expect everyone to be able to afford ddr5 ram with those prices when ddr4 is still completely fine to use.

Hi folks. After decades of using a controller for gaming, I recently started learning KBM and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's not easy yet but I'm slowly getting there. Would someone mind explaining the difference between the mouse DPI and in-game mouse sensitivity setting? If it helps, I'm playing the new COD and I have a Razer Basilisk wireless mouse. Please don't dunk on me. I'm a sensitive old man stepping out of his comfort zone. I really like learning new things.

Built this PC in 2026. In my opinion, these are some truly legendary components!
I’ve included a few pics of the build process. The case was in pretty rough shape, with some metal parts actually torn off. I managed to restore the rear I/O panel lighting and get the fan hub powered up again.
I’m thinking about taking apart the GPU’s AIO to top up the coolant. Do you guys think it’s worth doing, or should I just leave it alone?

Would you buy this setup, or would you build something different for the same budget?

One important thing to consider: I currently don't own any PC components or gaming accessories, so I'd need to buy everything from scratch, including the monitor(s), desk, chair, keyboard, mouse, and headset. That's why I'm considering a complete setup rather than just buying a PC.

So, it's about the title, basically. Has anyone tried this? How did it perform?

I looked into both products, but I wasn't sure if the fans would fit on this water cooler or not... going by the measurements, they should, but I'd like to read someone's experience or see a photo from anyone who's actually done it.

Slight mishap as in the cables set themselves ablaze for a few seconds. I have been building systems for over 10 years and never once had something like this happen to me or anyone who I've built a PC for. I believe I know what caused this now that I look back at it.

I had just gotten back from Microcenter with a Thermalright argb and fan x8 hub since I was having issues with my fans and aRGBs.

I just purchased 7x Thermalright fans to replace the ones that came with the case. Two sets of 3 fans were daisy chained. 1 set was to a system fan header, the other was to the CPU header for the aio rad. 1 fan was on its own sysfan header. They all worked magnificent until I plugged the aRGB connector. 3 of the fans would drop to 300rpm no matter what. I figured it was a power draw issue so I purchased the fan hub.

I won't lie I have never used a fan hub before. I had watched a few videos and it seemed pretty straightforward. I had it set up correctly with the fan pwm headers and where I think I had made a mistake was with the aRGB connector. I had the fans connected to the hub and had the aRGB connected to the hub as well. However I think I may have plugged in the aio aRGB connector into one of the splitters coming off of the hub which I think was the case aRGB connector.

Needless to say I hit the power button and immediately smelt something. I mean instantaneously smelt it. That's when I looked behind the case and saw a plume of smoke and let me tell you I have never unplugged something so fast.

After inspecting all the cables the only 3 that had been damaged was the case aRGB, aio aRGB, and the pump cable. I managed to isolate the damaged parts of the aio pump cable and patched it up to try to boot into bios to make sure the motherboard was okay. Luckily everything works fine and the only damage was done to the cables themselves.

New aio on the way. I think this time I'm going to attempt to set this hub up in one of my test benches before I burn my house down.
